The Mystic Woods

The mystic wood is a mysterious place that was once inhabited by an ancient elf like race now long deceased. The woods are strange and dangerous, filled with the howls of creatures you would not wish to run into on a cold dark night. Yet due to the ruins, and their many secrets as well as treasures, many visit the place often never to return. There are also those who inhabit the forest also, due to the pull it seems to have over those with magic in their blood. There are also rumors of a witch who may reward you.. or curse you depending on how you treat those that lie within.

Still there is some safety in numbers, a warm fire, and a simple wooden home. Will you brave the woods and find out some of it's secrets? Or will you turn away in fear....

Rosia leaped from her simple tree home as the sun rose, she loved to watch the flowers of the forest open their blooms in the day light and the glitter of light upon the mists. There was peace in this place for her where greed did not exist, no matter the dangers. A butterfly fluttered near her shoulder as it tried to keep balance before landing on it, always following it's mistress no matter the dangers. The simple motions caused Rosia to glance over and smile slightly. Such a pretty and loyal little thing really...

She shook her head and stood, her staff by her side. The flowers and vines upon the wooden staff also seemed to bloom in the sun, as if truly alive. With such an enchantress as Rosia this was not out of the realm of possibility so perhaps the blossoms really did live and grow in the sun that filtered hazily through the ever present mist. She seemed to not give it a second's thought, however, and simply started to walk towards her favorite forest meadow. The flowers there was especially beautiful, perhaps that was why one of the ruins had been built there.. had the mysterious 'lost elves' loved this beauty too? Perhaps....

Rosia half laughed at this thought, mainly because of the picture of the guards such places must have had bending down to sniff a flower in full armor. At the slight sound a few rubies and a sapphire dropped from her lips like rain as it met the chilly morning air. She sighed and reached out to catch the tiny glittering stones as she halted a moment in her walk. The gemstones had their own dangers hidden in their beauty, just like the forest around her. She shuddered at the memory and put the gemstones in her pocket. That was all over now.... she was the undead witch of the woods and such dangers were not quite so terrifying.

So she brushed aside the thoughts and continued to walk. Once she had arrived in the clearing she would sit on the stone wall that lay intact on one side of the stairs. She lay back as she leaned her staff against the wall, her bangs obscuring one eye as always even as she did so. Her braids fell to each side and she gazed up into the flower studded trees. She relaxed beneath the beautiful canopy and just breathed in the clean, fresh air. She watched as the flowers began to bloom, her butterfly landing to nestle on her chest comfortably. It appeared to be watching with her, but it was hard to tell so tiny as a butterfly’s head is....

Arzu sat on his knees, his hands were bound behind his back with thick, steel cuffs that locked together. His golden eyes, full of defiance, were downcast at the moment. He was thinking of a way to escape the clutches of this vile, selfish woman, of course he had tried many times before, all in vain. This time would be different though, for a simple reason, they were not in the woman's home. They were outside, in some ruins held within some forest. Arzu was sure he could outmaneuver this woman and escape in a forest.

There was one problem. The female was clutching tightly to a chain connected to the collar around his neck. Perhaps if he was fast enough he could pull the chain from her hand and dart out of this place and hide in the trees. She was searching for something, something powerful, something terrible. Often she had wished for eternal beauty and life, but just as often Arzu had refused. He would not waste his life on such selfish wishes. Every time he refused, she beat him, savagely. Truthfully Arzu had been in this woman's possession for a few years, and her persistence was surprising, most would have given up before now.

The woman gasped at something and her hold on his leash loosened, at that moment Arzu sprang to action. Leaping to his feet and jerking back from her with enough force to pull the chain from her hand. It had hurt his throat, and caused him to cough a few times but it hadn't stopped him from bolting towards the closest exit. Freedom. He would have his freedom and then he would hide from the selfish, cruel world. But they were in a clearing, and the trees were some distance away. Arzu ran, if he could just make it past that stone wall.

The cat grunted, the chain hanging from his collar causing him to trip and fall. His ears twitched at the sound of pursuit behind him, obscene words and horrible threats leaving the lips of that woman as she caught up to him. He was trying to get to his feet before she got there, but that was rather hard to do when one's hands were bound behind their back. Arzu and the woman both seemed rather oblivious to the female sitting on the wall.

The woman grabbed a fist full of the cat's long white hair and yanked his head back harshly. Arzu only grunted and hissed at her. She grabbed the chain attached to his collar and yanked it out from where it had been between his body and the ground. Once she had a good amount of it in her hand she let his hair go and began to mercilessly hit him with that chain. She called him names, more than once saying he was a bad pet, and threatening to do worse to him if he didn't grant her wish at this very moment. Through it all Arzu grit his teeth, his lips curled back to show off his sharp teeth and he hissed menacingly at her between whimpers of pain.

As she heard scuffling the woman stood, her staff levitating to her hand and held behind her slightly as if in a prepared strike. Her butterfly flipped a moment only to fly at her side, more durable then most butterflies. Both expected to see one of the less kindly creatures of the forest when instead they saw two strangers. The woman's actions had the dainty figure frowning, and her gaze fled over her. She could see the woman's evil at a mere whispered incantation that left a perfectly round pearl bouncing down the steps and rolling in the grass to land at the woman's feet. She was a rare soul indeed....a truly nonredeemable soul. Despite the evils of the world they were not nearly so common as one may think.

"You come to this forest of the mystic and try to use it for evil... then preform such an evil act as treating another sentient being as a mere toy. You think yourself better then those around you. Let's see what the powers that be think. " Came her soft, whisper of a voice though it seemed to bounce around in the air like a crack of thunder to reverberate in the souls of those that heard. It always sounded such a way when she was casting a spell. Still even as she said such harsh words gentle flowers and beautiful gleaming gems fell from her lips to the ground. She then raised her staff above her head and shouted the word that would unleash the spells power.

JUDGEMENT!" The word cracked through the air like thunder and a blue glow filled her eyes. Rose petals flew from the staff to rip through the defensive spells the woman tried to cast like they were nothing but paper before razor blades. They surrounded the woman and lifted her, a gold glow surrounding the woman. The glow become red around the woman, indicating a judgement of guilty and a poetic justice was chosen by powers beyond that of any mortal. The glow released an almost blinding flash and the petal storm around her disappeared....to reveal the vile woman no longer was there. In her place was a mouse that dropped to the ground with a squeak. Rosia didn't even look at the woman as she levitated from the steps and to the cat, her eyes returning to normal as her spell ended it work. She dropped to the ground soundlessly and gave the cat like being a smile.

"It seems that which rules us all has deemed her a truly evil soul..... Are you alright? My mistress says she can help heal you...." The butterfly said, speaking for the dark haired woman at it's side as it often did. Understandably the woman rarely spoke even as she kneeled at his side and laid her staff on the grass behind her. She plucked a flower from her staff and held it to the cuffs even as the vine upon her staff grew a flower in it's place. Her eyes flashed that same blue and the bloom formed into a key. Within moments the cuffs and collar was unlocked and cast aside like dirt. She reached into her bag and was applying soothing herbs to various wounds she saw but she cast no healing magic. She did no such thing without permission, having found through experience many blessings could be curses in disguise no matter how well intentioned the caster.

(Note: the judgement spell is only used on request or on npcs I create XD. ))

Those ears twitched at the unfamiliar voice but glad for the interruption. Things happened so fast, but Arzu had no problem following the events that occurred. His mistress was soon nothing more than a simple mouse, he was free. Though, that joy was short lived as the stranger came to him. Arzu hissed at her, a warning, his eyes wild, almost feral and he seemed more like a wild creature than a tame one.

He snapped his teeth at the butterfly when it spoke not even really hearing it's words, as if it too was a threat to his newly found freedom. Though in his mind he saw no reason for this person to help him except to claim him as her own. He would not allow himself to be held within the clutches of the selfish again, for too long he had suffered at the hands of greedy creatures.

When his hands were free of the cuffs, his first instinct was to lash out violently at this woman, he didn't do such a thing though. Only because he lacked the strength to move, other than moving his arms next to him in a more comfortable position as he lay there on the ground. He wanted to fight back, he simply did not have the strength to after such a beating, perhaps it also had to do with not sensing an immediate danger in the presence of this girl and her talking butterfly.

Arzu kept his eyes on them, a feral, wary look. One of distrust but a glimmer of hope. He didn't move when she began to apply the soothing herbs, only gave her a warning hiss, his ears flattening against his skull for a moment and then his body began to relax under her touch.

It seemed to calm him greatly, her gentle touch and the scent of the herbs. After a few moments the wild look in his eyes began to fade and softly but surely, Arzu began purring under her touch. He even gave the butterfly an apologetic look, as if to say 'sorry' for snapping at it when it spoke to him.

Rosia seemed unafraid as he snapped at her... then again the undead had little to fear even when not so old and powerful as the deceptively young, sweet looking Rosia. She was not surprised to see such fear in the eyes of one so hurt, for every bruise or cut she tended an old scar seemed to be found. She simply continued the simple tending of his wounds with the efficiency of one who had long lived in the forest and had once been a wood cutters daughter before she was the thing she was now. She didn't seem inclined to say anything until he was calm enough and when he was she simply glanced at her familiar. It seemed to understand what she wished without any word, but then again knowing the powers of her mind perhaps she communicated otherwise with the small creature.

"My mistress wishes to know if you would give permission for a healing spell to be used. She dislikes using spells without permission on those not judged guilty." The butterfly repeated, using it's own powers briefly to make sure it was understood and heard no matter what language was known to the creature with which it spoke. Rosia continued her simple applications, soon having almost every bruise or cut numbed. She applied a strange salve to the cuts that seemed to hold the sides together as if they were glued shut, though this would not hold forever as it was merely an herb after all. She said nothing to the purr though it surprised her and made her smile.

Briefly she was reminded of her time at home and a stray cat they had kept. Most pets were not an option due to lack of funds but the cat fed itself while keeping the house free of food stealing mice so she had been allowed to keep it. She had loved the creature dearly and often fell asleep with it purring as it curled up on her chest for warmth. It had been a truly loving creature despite it's wild roots.... then again animals had often taken to her. Unlike humans they had seen through her darkness and quiet to her gentle heart...well when it had been so very gentle. When she was young she had been such a gentle and naive thing. She shook her head at the thought and focused again on the cat like man who lay on the ground as she waited for his answer.

Those ears twitched a bit as he looked towards the butterfly, his purring stopped, and he seemed wary again. Arzu began to move, putting his arms under himself so he could push himself up and move away from the girl and her butterfly. Arzu didn't move to far, soon his back was pressed against the wall. Golden eyes weren't wild anymore, just wary. "Why do you do this? To gain my trust and claim me as your own?" His voice was soft, but it held the fear that no longer fully showed in his eyes. His body was tense, ready to spring away at a moment's notice.

"I won't be tricked into servitude to the selfish and greedy again." There was defiance and determination in that voice now, as well as the hint of fear. Those eyes remained on her, looking for any sign of an attack or attempt to capture him. He wanted to trust her, she had rescued him, she was trying to tend to his wounds. She seemed the trustable type, but Arzu had been led astray by a seemingly trustable type before. How could he truly know if she was worthy of his trust, worthy of his companionship or even his wishes?

She allowed him to pull away without a word, mostly done with all she could do without magic anyway. She tilted her head to the side as she watched him. She was quickly gathering much of what he was from both the magic within him and his words. She had read of such a creature, a cat who could grant wishes, but had little interest in such a thing. She had no use for any wish that could be granted by anything earthly.....even the great powers of a cat said to grant wishes against even lesser gods. In fact the idea seemed to make a bit of amusement glitter in her visible blue eye. Still she said nothing but merely looked at her butterfly once more.

"My mistress does it because it is her nature. She rewards the kind and punishes the cruel who force their way into the ruins and this forest that has asked her to protect it best she can. You appear to have been wounded by one judged guilty by the spell that punishes the truly evil so she helps you. If you desire she cease you may say so and she will leave you be. She has no need for anything she could not gain under her own power." The butterfly chimed in response, it's tiny bell like voice holding a touch of indignity. It was not the indignity of Rosia but the butterfly itself who choose to serve her of it's own free will for the good it saw in her among other things.

That tone, disturbing the normally so gentle and loving voice of her butterfly seemed to amuse her more then even the cat. Rosia could not resist the urge to chuckle softly though she reached up with one hand just in time to catch the gem that fell. She then slipped it into her pocket while suppressing a sigh. Still, she did appreciate her butterflies faith as she had many times before. She glanced at the butterfly, the thank you clear in her eyes but with something darker half hidden. She knew one hurt by the world so much as he clearly had been would not be so easily swayed. She had been in that place herself once, hounded by those who would hunt her for her jewels and even some of her flowers which held mystical powers of their own much as many herbs did.

She then glanced at the gems and flowers earlier taken and waved a hand, her telekinetic abilities gather them and placing them in her pouch where they disappeared magically. She had giant stores of such jewels at this point, though she did occasionally make jewelry out of them such as the clips that held her hair. They were the most pure and crystal clear of gems such that could rarely be found in nature. It was a gift many would desire but she rarely gave. Many would think them a wonderful gift for the poor.... but the poor generally would be accused of stealing and lose their freedom rather then gain food or funds from it.

"Her nature?" Arzu's head tilted to the side slightly. It was his nature to grant wishes, but a nature he could easily go against if the wish was a selfish one. Her touch had been gentle, his lips parted slightly, as if to speak but he stopped. A gem had fallen from the woman's lips, he hadn't noticed such a thing earlier, though he couldn't exactly see everything very well from his position on the ground earlier either. He stared at her, clearly mesmerized by the idea that a gem could fall from someone's mouth, Arzu had never heard of such a thing. His train of thought had completely derailed, though now it righted itself.

He shook his head slightly. "How did you do that, make a jewel fall from your lips." Those ears twitched and his eyes were on the woman, he even took a step towards her. It was only a small step, as curious as he was, he was still just as wary of her. Even if the butterfly had said she didn't want anything she could not gain under her own power, though technically she had somewhat gained him. Her magic was strong, she could easily subdue him and try to get wishes out of him.

Arzu stepped back, once again pressing his body against the wall. No longer interested in the jewel, only in his own well being again. "I will not be tricked by such pretty words from a fragile thing." He glanced at the butterfly, then that gaze was back on the woman."How can I believe the words of someone who won't speak for herself?"

"She has her reasons and they are not any of your business! She helps you out of her own heart-" the butterfly begin to shout at the cat, almost shaking with anger. It shook so fiercely it was a miracle that it managed to stay aloft! Then again it was not so fragile a thing as it appeared, very few things in this forest were. Still, even as it shouted the woman held up a hand to quiet the small creature. It still shook as it turned towards her and judging by Rosia's shaking her head as if in response to something it was likely continuing the onslaught to her. Why allow such a foolish cat to question she whom the butterfly nearly worshiped in it's own way. It was a crime as far as the butterfly was concerned, this was clear.

"Greed.... surely you know of it well. The fairy whom..... gifted me when i was still human did not understand it so clearly. She expected to bring me only riches when I was once kind to her. She saw no evil in words that reflected the riches of kindness in physical form, or the greed a few pretty stones could cause." came the quiet, somber voice of Rosia. The flowers and gems again poured from her lips, a river of beauty glittering in the sunlight filtered through the forests mists. It came without effort or any real attempt of Rosia to cause or stop it. As she caught them in her hands, in fact, it seemed she found them more a tiring thing.... the scar hidden by her collar would have explained why even if it rose the question of how she still lived and spoke.

With that the woman placed the gems in her mystical pouch once more save one golden jewel that matched the cat's eyes. She tossed it to him without another word and stood. She plucked her staff from the grass as she did so, her gaze lifting to the flowers in the branches above. She had missed much of their blooming for her attention to the two as the sun had finally risen and the full glory of the flowers was revealed. She suppressed a sigh and simply shook her head. It was of no consequence, there would be countless more sun rises in her future. As she thought this the butterfly landed on her shoulder, much the way one would put their hand on the shoulder of someone to offer comfort. It knew her well enough to know her thoughts even when she did not communicate them. She glanced at the butterfly and offered it a smile before she seemed ready to leave. She had her rounds of the forest to do and it would likely be wise to check the ruins to see if the evil woman had done anything to harm it...

Passing through a deeply wooded area, the black-haired girl stopped to examine the trees that seemed to call to her.She had heard the stories,of how people went into the woods and never returned.Yet those stories didn't seem to matter much as she took her first step towards the treeline.Another step. Then another, and another, until she was walking through the forest itself. The world outside seemed to disappear as she walked, and a deep feeling of peace came over her.Surely no harm could occur in such a place. After quite a while of wandering, the girl entered a clearing where ruins stood proud against time. She stopped to admire their beauty.

As dawn broke over the forest,a young looking man walked along a path, looking for food for his breakfast. The winged male had lived in the forest for as long as he could remember. It was a long time indeed,as his own mother had given birth to him in the forest, while looking for evidence that other elves had once lived there..By this time, the man knew the forest better than he knew himself.Torso exposed like always,he made no attempt to hide his two different wings,or his two different eyes.Sensing a disturbance in the peace of the forest, the man began heading towards it,following the voices of the trees to find a cat-man laying on the ground.By the look of things, the woman who protected the forest was just leaving. The man recognized that the cat was hurt and wary, but stepped forward anyway.Silently,he took some bread from a pouch he carried, and held it out to the cat as an offering. His wings fluttered a bit in the breeze.

His ears twitched but otherwise it seemed he ignored the angry butterfly easily enough. Still he was glad when the woman made it stopped, though being scolded by a butterfly was rather amusing. When the woman finally spoke though, Arzu's attention was fully on her, for a moment he watched the jewels and flowers drip from her lips with ease as she spoke. They were similar, there was no doubt in his mind that this woman had gone through hardships because of the greed and selfishness of others.

When she tossed the golden jewel at him, he caught it easily, his hand moving out of a reflex to defend himself from the tiny projectile. He opened his hand to peer at the item. It wasn't a weapon, she obviously hadn't thrown it at him to cause harm, did that mean she was giving it to him? Why would she give him something? He had no monetary use for gemstones. He was still staring at the golden thing when she turned away from him trying to puzzle out her meaning behind giving it to him. Was it, a gift? Arzu couldn't remember any ever giving him a gift before. He clutched the gold gem tightly for a moment, before tucking it away in a tiny hidden pouch in the skirt like covering he wore around his waist.

"It seems more a curse than a gift, I could-" Arzu's words died in his throat at the appearance and approach of another. He had been about to offer the girl a wish, as reluctant as he was to part with one of his lives he found it surprisingly easy to offer her one of his wishes. The appearance of the stranger had nipped that in the bud though and that wild look was returning to his eyes and he pressed his back even harder against that wall.

He hissed at the creature offering him a piece of bread, a warning hiss, those lips curling back to reveal his sharp feline like teeth in a snarl. This new person was trying to trap him, wasn't it? Arzu's body was tense, and he would fight to keep the freedom he had just gotten.

Rosia could not help her amusement at his reaction to her gift and it glittered in her eyes as it brought a smile to her lips. She managed to keep from making a sound, however, even as she sensed the approach of another as well as a new being in the forest. The forest always told her when someone new entered, well as much as it could. It would seem a mere breeze passing by her and stiring her braids easily but she felt in it the forests emotion and through it could gather various information. Something with dark magic had entered though the forest did not yet fear it, perhaps only because it was a wild thing impossible to tame itself. Still it did not find this new person a threat so she thought little of it and instead focused on the winged elf.

She had seen him before but he had not troubled her so she saw no reason to trouble him. She also felt someone else nearing the ruins and glanced at the woman. They seemed to share similar eye and hair color to the point Rosia and she could be sisters.... it was almost amusing in a sad sort of way. Her sweet little sister had been much fairer haired like her mother, however, with natural curls that made her look positively angelic. Rosia smiled at the thought, remembering the now long past soul. However, the elf and cat were more in need of her help now it seemed.

"Dear elf, my mistress would like to warn you that the cat like one is very nervous right now. He has been through a very traumatic ordeal...." The butterfly chimed softly, though it's voice seemed to hold a darker note as it trailed off. It did not seem to think the cat's ordeal explained away his behavior earlier towards it's beloved mistress but that was unsurprising. Anyone who knew the butterfly and Rosia knew well that the butterfly was amusingly protective of the other. It then turned to the cat in question, however, as Rosia thought of what the cat had said. The pretty thing flew to sit on the top of Arzu's head a minute so it could whisper the words in his ear as Rosia had indicated it should. Once it had flown off Rosia would give Todd a bow and smile of greeting in her usual reserved fashion.

"My mistress wishes to tell you that her name is Rosia and she will allow no harm to come to you in her presence. She would also like to say that she knows of your.....abilities and suspects she may know what you intended to offer. While she thanks you for your kindness, if she is correct, she would not like to strain you in the manner required." the butterfly said quietly to the cat, softly so no one else would hear. It would then fly back to Rosia's shoulder.

Arzu's eyes remained on the stranger with the bread, true the cat was a bit hungry, but even starvation wouldn't allow him to let his guard down long enough to get close enough to take the offered food. Arzu just couldn't be sure of this person's intentions, to him everything was a trap now. He would have to be very wary, very careful. Those ears twitched slightly when the butterfly spoke to the elf, and then they twitched again when the tiny thing landed on his head. He blinked, clearly startled by the action, if he could he would have backed up a few more steps.

The words the butterfly whispered into his ear were not ones he had ever expected to hear from anyone. An offer of protection and the refusal of an offered wish. For one who had always been harmed as a means to extract the wishes from him, Arzu wasn't sure what to think. Confusion and uncertainty clear on his features. It was hard for him to believe that anyone would refuse a wish, but she had. Even after she had rescued him from the vile woman, she hadn't demanded anything of him. His gaze jumped from the elf to Rosia, then back to the elf. A white mist swirled around Arzu's body, it covered him fully for only a few seconds then dispersed, revealing not the cat man but an actual cat. Small and white with golden eyes.

Arzu darted past the elf, running for Rosia, and he leaped at her. Certain she would catch him in her arms. He wasn't sure where that certainty came from, but he felt sure. He was ready to take her up on her offer of protection, and maybe even that offer of healing. His body was growing sore, and he was sure some of the wounds had reopened, that soothing herb seemed to be wearing off.

Rosia saw the uncertainty of the cat's features from the corner of her eye and simply offered a small reassuring smile. She knew she must seem strange to many. With her undeath and her gift that proved to be a curse that required constant fighting of those that would take her head to try to force gems from it she would seem the kind to have lots of wishes. Perhaps if the cat did not have to give up a life she would be more inclined to accept a wish but probably not. Rosia had learned through hard won experience that wishes and magic were never free. There was always a cost to someone, a ripple effect that cascaded through the universe and surely so big a magic as changing what she was would require a large cost indeed.

Still, any thoughts of this were pushed aside as suddenly a ball of white fur was streaking towards her. She caught him easily, her staff keeping itself upright next to her as if held by an invisible hand. She blinked, appearing briefly surprised but simply hugged him to her chest. She shifted him to one arm, lifting the purple hood of her coat so he could climb between it and her neck to hide if he so desired. She didn't mind really... in fact it reminded of her loving cat she once had to hold the warm furry bundle in her arms. He had jumped like that too whenever she returned from going out, as if her getting home was the most miraculous and wonderful thing in the world. She could not help but smile at the memory and cradled the cat like one would an infant against her chest. Absently she pulled a piece of deer jerky from her pouch and held it out to the cat to nibble if he liked. She did not eat, being undead as she was, instead sustaining her existence by feeding on energy of the nature around her. Still she kept some on hand as there was often the lost traveler in these woods, scared and out of supplies.

Arzu mewled softly at Rosia when she caught him, wriggling slightly in her grasp to get in a more comfortable position as she hugged him to her chest. He had moved so he could still keep an eye on the stranger, his fur somewhat standing on end, to betray his nervousness and fear. Keeping his eyes on the stranger he hesitantly nuzzled against Rosia, purring ever so softly, almost uncertainly. When she held the deer jerky out to him, he batted at it warily with a paw for a moment before sniffing at it and then taking it cautiously from her hand to scarf it down rather quickly. His eyes never really straying far from the stranger.

At the butterfly's warning,Todd grinned a little and nodded. When the man turned into a full cat,Todd put the bread away, deciding to save it just in case. He didn't approach, but allowed the two to have their moment. I hope I am not intruding. I only sensed trouble and the trees told me where to go. I'll go now if you wish." He said. His voice was soft and musical, almost like wind chimes.

Staring at the ruins,Gemini heard voices coming from very close by. Curious, she approached the sound and found an odd sight. There was a cat man,a magical looking woman and a winged elf standing there. As she watched, the cat man turned into a cat completely and ran to the woman, who caught him. The elf watched them, and a butterfly seemed to be watching as well. Captivated by the cat,Gemini stepped forward. Cats had always fascinated her, especially since cats were the only creatures that could see demons in their disguises. She stepped forward. "Excuse me...can anyone tell me where I am,exactly?" She asked, eyes still on the cat.

"No it is alright, you are not intruding." the butterfly answered as the woman shook her head to indicate the message was from her. She saw no reason for the elf to leave, it was up to him really. She simply scratched the chin of the cat in her arms, as if hoping to soothe it. She was debating inwardly if she should head to check the ruins for damage yet and if she should invite the elf along. She may have decided but the woman approached. She glanced towards her, again struck by their eerie similarities but she said nothing of that.

"You are in the Mystic Woods, a magical forest within the Tarterin mountains. It contains the ruins of an unknown species that appear elf like, My mistress requests you do not damage the ruins and advises not stealing from them.... Bad things often happen to those who do." The butterfly answered as it landed on Rosia's shoulder. The butterfly's wings seemed slightly lower, as if it was sensing the demonic energy and uncertain about it. Rosia tilted her head slightly as she sensed it, knowing the butterfly had it's own reasons for not enjoying associating with demons. She kissed the small creatures wing, leaving what looked like purple glitter behind that disappeared quickly. It was a comforting gesture to the creature generally, the positive energy of her lips easily comforting to most things. It attempted to perk up in response.

Arzu yawned as Rosia scratched under his chin, his body relaxing fully in her arms. That relaxation lasted mere seconds, it was interrupted by a female stranger, one that felt rather demonic. Arzu hissed softly, a warning, not much liking the way she felt or the way the woman's eyes seemed fixated on him. Clearly she wanted him for his abilities, he wriggled and squirmed in Rosia's arms, trying to press himself as close to her body as possible, as if to hide from the strangers. A half wild look coming to his eyes and Arzu hissed again before scrambling out of Rosia's grip and climbing up her shoulder to hide between her neck and the purple hood.

Todd nodded to the butterfly, but before he could speak again, another female appeared from the direction of the ruins. His wings fluffed up defensively as he sensed the demonic aura from her. She looked innocent enough, but Todd knew not to trust appearances, especially where demons were concerned. He kept his guard up,wings ready for flight, just in case any trouble arose. Todd was generally a peaceful fellow, but he would defend his home ferociously if the need arose.

Gemini's hand flew to her heart. "Goodness,I would never destroy or steal anything so beautiful." She replied, shocked at the very idea. She noticed suddenly that every creature in the clearing was on edge. Clearly the all could sense her demon half. The reaction was not unfamiliar to her,so she raised her hands in a gesture of peace. "I-I hope you're not all too uneasy with my...darker half. I assure you I mean no harm at all." She assured them.

Rosia glanced down at the tangle of fur and nerves in her arms, barely shifting in time to keep him balanced from his speed. She made a soft 'shhh' sound to him and patted him on the head ever so gently. She was not unnerved by the demon, the warning was one she gave to all travelers. Still she was annoyed as a small pearl fell from her lips and she caught it easily. She put the gem in a random pocket before shifting her gaze back to the woman. She tilted her head to the side at the woman's shocked reaction to her suggestion only to smile faintly as if amused by something. Such an innocent and pure reaction was a pleasant thing indeed for the witch of the woods who preferred to reward over punishing the guilty anyway.

"My mistress says we all have our own darkness she supposes.....and do not worry." the butterfly responded to the demon, though clearly only at the behest of her mistress. The butterfly wanted to squirm but did nothing but stay on Rosia's shoulder in silence. It needed to be the voice of the woman it so loved.... Rosia again gave the creature a slight peck on the wing tip even as her hand continued to stroke the cat to reassure him.

Arzu wriggled some, though he seemed to have calmed down quite a bit. The white cat watched the others from his hiding place, feeling a bit safe in Rosia's presence. It wasn't something he could explain, she just seemed gentle, kind, once he actually let himself feel it. Warmth of kindness. It wrapped around him and made him relax as he laid there. He was still wary of the strangers, and he still watched them carefully, but he didn't feel as nervous or agitated as before. He wriggled a bit more and mewled softly, a slight mewl of pain. The soreness of his body was getting worse, and now he was certain that the soothing herbs she had used earlier were already wearing off.
