"Can't I stop them?!" Well, she supposed actually, that maybe she could. "I thought you were supposed to be the one protecting me. Not the other way around." As Suzume spoke her words in an angry and childish fashion, continuing the argument, she tucked the Ginzu piece into her towel and moved to pick up the katana. As she did, she saw the blood on Kitaru's shoulder.

How could she have forgotten that he too had serious wounds? He always seemed so strong and capable. She held the katana in both of her hands now. Of course she could handle some crazed wolves. "Okay," she said, "Open the door and get out of the way." She was staring at the door with a determined look. Really, she probably looked ridiculous there in her towel, holding the katana like she knew what to do with it. Never the less, her friends needed her, and she would do what she had been gifted to do.

Kitaru grunted, growling softly. "I'm doing the best I can." He was watching her out the corner of his eye as she picked up the katana. There was no way he was letting her out of this room wearing nothing but a towel, another growl left his throat, at the thought of others looking at his human while she was clad only in a towel. Though those thoughts on confused him. Why should he care if others looked at her or not? Those thoughts left quickly when she told him to open the door and he almost laughed.

"You'll get killed." Kitaru turned, pressing his back against the and leaning in an almost casual manner, but using his body weight to keep the doors closed. "We're not leaving this room. So far it's safe in here." He spoke the words firmly, his tone one of finality. It should leave no room for argument, but he figured Suzume would try to argue anyway. She was a stubborn human, and a kind one with a strong sense of duty it seemed. It confused him entirely.

The sound of growls caught Kimiko's attention. She immediately stood up and went to the door to peak outside the frame, stiffening when she saw the rather vicious looking beasts approaching the room. With a huff, the priestess closed her eyes and a small barrier covered the door. The animals attended to cross, but stopped when one of them were shocked from the attempted breach. The stared at the creatures and their black eyes before sighing.

"..This place.. These people.. are sure meddlesome." Talking to herself, she was thankful that the room was secure and she would not need to fight right away... until she spotted a rather clueless looking servant wandering towards them. "You fool! Run!" She yelled and watched as the woman tiled her head before finally noticing the wolves. She dropped the buckets of water in her hands and backed up, the wolves beginning to slink towards her as though they had found prey.

Kimiko immediately brought her barrier down and rushed out of the room, stabbing two arrows into two wolves, making them disintegrated into nothing. Some of the others turned towards her, while a few more scattered to the side towards the middle of the castle, chasing after the servant woman that was then running for her life. She grumbled under her breath, a trait that only happened when she found herself to be extremely annoyed. "This is beginning.. to really annoy me." She stated out loud and held out her hand straight to the side before slashing it in front of her. The wolves had jumped towards her at the same moment and were practically slashed in half before being purified and disappearing.

The scream of the servant girl caught Kimiko's attention and she immediately bolted towards where she had been running. Thankful that she was fast, She spotted the chase in front of her within a matter of minutes. She leaped into the air and onto one of the wolves back, that alone being enough to take the creature down in pain. Next she loaded her bow and aimed.

The first arrow was shot and a wolf instantly disappeared into the air as it was hit. Kimiko stared forward as the servant ran away before turning her eyes to the remaining wolves that had turned their attention to her. Their growls filled her ears and she only frowned as she withdrew another arrow. The animals weren't intimidated by it though and they seemed to almost be lacking any of their natural instincts. As one lunged forward with it's jaws open and ready to chomp, the priestess released her weapon. It was instantly killed, but she had no time to celebrate her win as yet another wolf jumped at her.

With no time to load her bow, the woman reached out her hand and grabbed the animal's snout. It was only for a moment though before a bright blue light glowed from the contact between the two and the wolf began to disintegrated, letting out a howl.

Kimiko approached the hot spring and stared at the door for a long moment. She was able to sense the two presence inside."..It is safe." Her voice said calmly towards the door and whoever was on the other side. She grabbed the handle before suddenly tearing the door open as though it hadn't been being held to stare at the wolf demon and naked woman on the other side. A chuckle near threatened the back of her throat when she saw the sight of the girl in a towel and her sword, but she didn't let it slip.

"I do not know how many there are left, though I believe I dispatched the majority." Kimiko glanced over her shoulder when she heard a very distance howl and frowned. "We shall hold off any introductions until these damned animals have been rid of. The only thing you need to worry of is that I am currently an ally."

p o p p e t ♥ 06-20-2013 05:21 AM

When Kitaru told her she would get killed and planted himself against the door, she lowered the Katana. Not because she agreed with him, but because she was practically dumbfounded at his words. He had just told her that she should be the one to use her "magical katana" and save the day, and now he wasn't letting her.

When he told her he wasn't letting her out until it was safe, Suzume raised her katana again, as if to threaten the tiger demon. "There are people out there who need us," she said angrily but sternly. "Let me out." It wasn't like she couldn't take care of herself. She'd survived this long hadn't she? And, she'd even been the one to defeat the Hanganji when no one else could.

She took another step forward as if she would cut him up or something ridiculous. Before Suzume had the chance to do much else, someone spoke from the other side of the door, and then it opened. She blinked owlishly around the tiger demon at the newcomer and nodded at her words, just thankful to be able to go and help her friends now.

Kry 06-20-2013 07:00 AM

"Those people will be fine. The humans of this castle aren't important to us. Getting yourself killed for their sake will accomplish nothing." He growled the words, rather impatiently at Suzume's stubbornness, his eyes on her as she moved almost threateningly towards him. She wouldn't hurt him, he was sure of it, but there was a little doubt there. Humans had always hurt him before, but she had stayed with him when he had been injured. It was confusing, he couldn't decide if she would really hurt him or not with that katana.

Suddenly there was a voice on the other side of the door, but before Kitaru could respond or move, the person on the other side had thrown the doors open with a lot of force. It sent the tiger demon sprawling a few feet from the door, but he was on his feet very quickly, and even quicker he was between Suzume and this new person. Cat like eyes narrowed dangerously, and he snarled a warning, but his right hand clutched at his left shoulder. Willing the pain away. He had to stay strong. For Suzume's sake, for the sake of getting all of the Maboroshi, and things would only get more difficult he was sure.

"It was safe until you opened the door." Honestly, why hadn't the woman gone through and killed all the other wolves, before declaring it safe? It didn't matter now. Their hideout was compromised and Suzume wanted to find Hikari any way, and probably the blind one as well. Though he wasn't sure what she thought she could do to help. He huffed lightly, letting out a soft sigh, he reached over and grabbed Suzume's wrist. "Let's go save the others, then." He didn't sound very thrilled about that. He gave the new woman a look, as if trying to decide if she could be trusted or not. He decided she couldn't, but she might be useful. "You can come too if you like, just don't get in my way." Already he was tugging Suzume towards the door.

Kiyoto 06-20-2013 05:58 PM

Haru watched the others a bit, as they all seemed to move about without really connectiing. He took a breath, kneeling for a moment as he pulled out the scroll from his bag. He dips his brush into the ink he kept with him, drawing a line across the paper. Slowly, the form of several chinese style lions pulled away from the paper. With a roar, they took off after the wolves who were roaming around the castle. He rolled up the scroll once more, glancing towards the overhead area. That guy, the demon. He sighed a bit, moving to the stairs, where the one leaning against it caught his eye. He moved over to him, before glancing up at the stairs. The fox girl was all alone up there with him, he was slightly tempted to go up and help her, but he did not want to jepordize the situation at the moment. He would give her some time, but if she needed him, he would be there to help.

Chi looked at the girl, his mind was split in three. He was attempting to focus on the girl before him, on Hex as well as the wolves who were being slaughtered. He let the blood sword turn to a flexible state, then to liquid. Moving back up into his hand, the wound slowly closed off. He turned his attention to Hex over him, as he watched the fox girl before them. Hex looks down at him, "what?" "Should we stay? It is only a matter of time before they are destroyed and I can't deal with all of these people" he did not do well with people at all. Hex sighed, "we need the shards" his head lifted into the air, sniffing. He could smell the blood within the castle just as Chi could. He was attemtping to locate the shards through any remnants of the man's blood on them. Chi's own shard still hung around his neck.

~Wild Spirit Wolf~ 06-21-2013 01:52 AM

Hikari kept her guard up."You're looking for the shards? There's none left here.We already beat the guy who had them, and almost all of us took some.Chi-kun,if you stick around and just talk to me a bit,I'll give you one of mine.Free of charge." She said cautiously. For whatever reason, she really didn't want this boy to leave. She wanted to help him.

Kiyoto 06-21-2013 04:51 AM

Hex's eyes swivvled around to look at the female. They had seen the body, so the part about the guy being dead was true enough. As for the shards, this girl was a fool. She had just given them some of the location, as well as practically voulenteered to hand some over. He laughed, "aw how sweet and all we have to do, is make nice." He laughed more, streatching over to look her in the eyes inches from her.

"Pity...makes me wanna hurl" he says. Chi watched, rubbing his arm lightly as it had begun to get a bit stiff again. "Pitty?" he looks at Hex, who turned his head back in his direction. "You don't actually think she cares? Your just some basket charity case she feels bad for and wants to help" he laughs, "oh how noble of you." Chi looked at the other, before looking down. He rememebered long ago, when he was a child.

It was when he had first been bonded to Hex. The people he had lived with..how they had looked at him. Many had felt he was a threat, a monster or a freak. He had been looked down upon, pittied by those who thought he would not survive within the world. The only one who had been there as everyone had walked on by, was Hex. He had stayed there, shielding the poor boy on the side of the rhoad from the rain and snow. People walking by, some would throw rocks at him or call him names, other kids espcially.

It had made him feel so hollow, so alone. He had not ment to hurt anyone that time, they had formed a circle, taunting and hitting him. He had felt the pain through his body and Hex in his mind. Taunting him, calling him weak and that he would never fight back. The blood that had followed had been odd. Seeing it move at his will, turning solid and their screams. He placed a hand to his head, the memories of the past hurt, they were a pain to bring up and he hated when they were. "I wanna forget.." he says quietly, "I don't want to remember anymore..."

Hex moved back over to him, circling around him a bit "aw come on..the only way to forget and to get stronger...you know what it is.." Chi sighed a bit, "I never wanted to hurt anyone, I never wanted any of this to happen...to be able to do this..." He looks at his hand, where a small bit of blood floats up from a new cut, forming a long and slender needle like tool. It slowly begins to solidify, and his fingers wrap around it. The surface so shiny, he could see his reflection within. The boy looking back at him and the black monster within...No, that was not fair.

Hex was a part of him, he was no monster, Hex was not either. He looked over at the female, his eyes on hers for a moment. Hex tilted his head, looking at him for a moment. He watched her slowly, before pointing the blood form at her. Not moving, he spoke "turn over the shards...and we will stay for now." Hex chuckles, "don't" he continues, "and we leave only to kill everyone later and take them...." Hex bursted into laughter at Chi's words, " what's it gonna be hmm? Are you gonna comply to try and save poor little Chi, or are you going to refuse to save your friends for now only to doom them later and lose a chance on saving poor Chi."

He found it ammusing and priceless, all of this, having two choices. He leaned down, placing a hand on either of Chi's shoulders. "Tick tock, make a choice soon...what will it be hmmm?" he turned his eyes on her, Chi looking at her as well. The room silent, it seemed to have gotten colder in some ways. Niether of the two moved as they waited for her responce. Chi admitted to himself, he was curious about what he would choose and he could feel the excitement within Hex. He found situations like this funny, putting people in situations where they had to choose, but both choices had their concequences and benifits as well.

One could tell a lot about a person baised on their answer. Would she give up the precious shards in order to gain them to stay, only to possibly have her attempts be in vain and lose later? Or would she reject the offer, only to lose any chance of gaining a powerful ally, as well as having the looming threat of an attack and her friend's deaths on her hands later on. Such a depressing choice really. He sighed a bit, he needed to know what she would choose, even if he did not want to ask the question really at all.

He could feel Hex's hands tighten on his shoulders, his body shifting a bit through their connection on Chi's back. He was a bit tense, but at the same time, this was bringing out a power in him. The two were getting stronger and with the right training and use of their power, they could indeed be one powerful ally, or a dangerous enemy. It was now in the girl's hands.

~Wild Spirit Wolf~ 06-21-2013 05:03 AM

Hikari stood her ground when Hex got in her face.Tears stung her eyes at the demon's words, but she didn't reply. She would not give him that satisfaction.Blinking the tears away,Hikari lifted her chin and looked Chi straight in the eye."If you think that choice is hard, you don't know me.It's not a choice at all." She said, taking her collected shards out of her pocket.Holding the boy's gaze, she walked towards him, grabbed his hand, and placed every shard into his palm."There is always a risk of failure. But what matters is trying.Even if you leave here and never think of me again,I at least have to try,for someone I care about.Believe it or not,Chi-kun,I do care about you. You're not just a pity case for me." she told him, sincerity ringing true in her voice. She closed his fingers around the shards."I still have one Mariboshi piece on me.I won't tell you what it is or where to find it,but if,when we are finished, you decide to leave,I will give it to you as a parting gift, and in return for the safety of my friends. If any of them are hurt while we talk, then you will not get the last piece."

((Cheerio is having some computer troubles and Happy is having some life/internet troubles. They aren't sure when they will post next but told us to keep on keepin' on. So we shall, but will keep our characters in the castle so that they don't get left behind. Our characters will eat a great feast once things are calmed down and will also stay the night there before traveling to the next village. That should give Cheerio and Happy time to get things in order!))

Suzume looked back over her shoulder at the woman as Kitaru tugged her out the door. Would she join them, or would she continue hunting the wolves? Little did Suzume know, there were tigers in the castle now too.

Luckily the halls were much more lit now that the castle servants had started burning all of the candles. She'd never seen so many candles before. But they were in a castle after all, so she wasn't surprised realizing that the place could clearly afford them.

They made it through a maze of halls, Suzume following behind Kitaru who she assumed was using his nose to find Hikari. The castle people had gone into hiding once again, the poor souls, having to go through so much so constantly. It made Suzume sad, and angry. So many lives were lost and yet these people were already busying themselves repairing the castle and waiting on them, and now there were wolves terrorizing the place.

They came into the large room through a door opposite of the one Hikari had entered through, up a second set of stairs. The door was open and in the center of the room was Hikari and Chi. Suzume was still behind Kitaru, but she stepped forward to stand beside him now. "It's Chi!" she exclaimed to no one in particular.

She tried to walk forward, not realizing that anything had happened involving Chi at all as they had come up at the end of the conversation. "What's going on? There are wolves in the castle, are you both alright?" She still held the katana though the point was still pointing behind her, inches from the ground as she basically drug the awkward and heavy thing along. She seemed to forget entirely that she was clad only in a towel.

((I've got so many things going on I could hardly concentrate for this post. I hope it made sense and that I judged Kitaru well enough to say some of the things I did. *yawn* Dunno how long I'll manage to stay awake for tonight, lol. I may make some coffee.))

Kry 06-24-2013 11:07 PM

Suzume would be stubborn, and probably yell at him and be terribly angry at him if he didn't lead her to the others. Though he was certain he was bringing them into the heart of all the trouble, Kitaru did just that. He brought Suzume to Hikari, the blind man, the ink man, and Chi. Kitaru did such a thing by following his nose, he kept a firm grip on Suzume's wrist as he tugged her through the castle. Scent of blood and wolf was heavy in the air, but he picked through them to find the scent he wanted and focused on that, much the way he had only focused on Suzume's scent to find her.

He picked up on voices as they drew nearer, and didn't much like what he was hearing. Still he released Suzume's wrist when they were in view of Hikari and Chi, his eyes roaming over the area. The scents of the blind man and the ink man were here, he was just trying to pin point their location with his eyes. They seemed to be at the other set of stairs, and that was fine with him. As Suzume exclaimed the boy's name and then started forward while asking a question or two, Kitaru grasped her by the upper arm and pulled her to him, and wrapped his arm around her so she couldn't get away from him. "Stay close to me, so I can protect you." Those feline eyes had narrowed slightly and he watched Hikari and Chi wondering what might happen next.

Kiyoto 06-25-2013 01:41 AM

Hex laughed a bit, looking down at the shards that Chi now held. This girl was a fool in his mind. Chi looked at the shards, then up at Hex. "We made a deal..." he says. Hex sighs a bit, "fine fine, your stuck with em for now." Chi looked at Hikari and nodded a bit, "we will stay then, for now as promised." Hex looked over in the direction of the stairs, slowly streatching himself over to where the onlookers were watching. "Aw, not gonna join the fun?" he laughed, Chi sighing a little as he rubbed his arm. The blood spike vanishing like the sword had, the cut on his hand vanishing.

~Wild Spirit Wolf~ 06-25-2013 02:23 AM

Hikari nodded. She saw the others approach out of the corner of her eye, but she paid no attention. "All right, Chi-kun. Let's talk. First, I would like to ask you a question. You don't have to answer if you don't want to. I would like to ask you why it is that you distrust everyone so much. What happened to you, Chi-kun?" She asked carefully. She hadn't expected to get this far, but she certainly wasn't going to stop now.

Kiyoto 06-25-2013 02:30 AM

He paused, looking at her when she asked about the reason why he distrusted people so much. He looked down a bit, the memories coming back to him as the moments passed. There were a few reasons, starting fully from back where he came from and what he was. How to start such a convorsation, with the others so close was uncomfortable. He fell quiet, closing himself off a bit and Hex felt it, looking at him with a sigh.

~Wild Spirit Wolf~ 06-25-2013 03:45 AM

Hikari bit her lip. "Okay, so you don't want to answer that one. That's fine, I won't force you. How about this, then...you can ask me any question at all. We'll take turns. I'll ask you something, and you ask me. And I'll answer you as best I can, no matter what." She said, trying to smooth over the feux pas that was her last question.

Kiyoto 06-25-2013 03:53 AM

He looks at her for a moment. "Questions?" he was not to good at thinking of things off the top of his head, asking them. He was worried about awkwardness, or asking something that he should not. Hex yawned a bit, folding his arms on Chi's head, resting his head on them. He watched the female, as well as kept his attention on the others at the foot of the stairs. He knew what was running through the boy's head, since they were connected in mind and heart. He felt unsure and uncomfortable, this was going nowhere fast. "What do you want with the shards?" Hex speaks up, breaking the ice and gaining a glance from Chi. It was a question, not really one that he thought she was expecting, but it would do for now. He was curious as well, so he looked back at the female.

~Wild Spirit Wolf~ 06-25-2013 05:45 AM

Hikari's ear twitched a bit at the question. "Hm. Okay, I'll admit I didn't expect that one. But I'll answer it none the less." She said, crossing her arms and thinking a bit. "Well...I want to rebuild the Mariboshi. I want to make it whole again, and then use it...I want to use it to bring my parents back to life. My mother and father...I didn't get time with either of them. I want to see them again." She told him, her eyes looking vulnerable for just a split second before a mask slipped into place. "Maybe it's selfish, but that is my goal. Now, my turn. This question is for Hex, but either of you can answer: Why is Hex so mean to Chi-kun? It doesn't seem like you really hate him, but...why are you always beating him up? She asked. This question had been bugging her since Hex first showed himself.

p o p p e t ♥ 06-25-2013 01:43 PM

Suzume kept her eyes on Chi and Hikari even when she was stopped from approaching. When the tiger demon spoke of protecting her, she took a moment to look at him, a light blush creeping into her cheeks. He was always holding her so close. The only people she'd ever seen so close were married, or soon to be.

And here she was in a towel. Her blush deepened. Why was she thinking about that now? It was that strange dream she'd had. She'd thought of Kitaru as an ally, and now her thoughts about him were clouded. Not in a bad way. In an awkward and embarrassing one.

She looked back at Chi and Hikari and brought herself back to the situation at hand. They had ignored Suzume and Kitaru and continued talking, but the blob was stretching itself towards them. Suzume's grip tightened on the katana. Even though she wasn't holding it properly, she was sure it would protect them like it had before, though she wasn't looking forward to it sucking up her energy again.

Hex spoke, but Suzume was looking around it now. Earlier when she'd woken, she'd passed by Hikari at the door. She hadn't spoken to the woman, not wanting to bother anyone and needing a bath. But when she'd seen Hikari sitting there by the door, she'd noticed that the woman had more pieces of the Maboroshi no Ginzuishou.

She had assumed then that they were the one's she'd succeeded in taking from Hanganji. But now the woman didn't seem to have any, except the original one she had had when they met. Chi on the other hand seemed a few shards heavier and the aura's had darkened in color. She couldn't decide how he'd gotten them. Hikari didn't seem hurt, could he have taken them?

Suzume whispered to Kitaru. "Hikari's shards are gone, except the one around her neck. Chi has them, and they're darker now." Kitaru was her protector, but she was starting to treat him as a partner. No really on purpose, he was just always there, and she wasn't very good at keeping information to herself. She'd heard Hikari and Chi talking since they arrived and knew that Chi would be staying with the group, per some promise. She'd also learned that Hikari wanted the Maboroshi no Ginzuishou to bring her parents back.

And there it was. Suzume had not wanted to ask anyone what they wanted it for. It would only lead to the demise of their friendships at some point, she knew. At some point Suzume would have to have all of the pieces so she could merge them, but then what? She wanted to use it to rid the world of it's evil. She couldn't let someone use it for evil, or use it purely for one selfish desire such as Hikari's. Though she did understand. She'd lost her mother. But she still would never use such a thing for something like that when the fate of the world was swinging in the balance.

Well, if everything was calmed down and Chi was to stay, maybe they could find a way to rid him of Hex and save him from the blob. For now, no one seemed in any danger and Suzume was still in her towel and needed clothes. Soon the castle servants would seek them for a large feast as well.

Kry 06-25-2013 05:17 PM

Kitaru kept his arm around Suzume to keep her from approaching Hikari and Chi. Those ears twitching and his eyes narrowed slightly. He knew Hikari had given her shards to Chi, to keep them all safe for a little while longer, but how safe could they truly be with someone around who had already made his intentions to kill them very clear?

He shifted slightly on his feet and when Suzume whispered at him, he merely nodded and turned them both away from Hikari and Chi. "The fox has this under control, and you need new clothes." The scent of wolves was fading fast, the scent of ink was stronger. The ink man had most likely done something to clear out the rest of the wolves, and it was in his direction that Kitaru was taking Suzume now.

Mostly so she could see that he and the blind one were well enough, since the two were on the other side of the room and he wasn't sure if Suzume had noticed them at all. He should probably tell Suzume that Chi couldn't be trusted, and that he had heard Hikari handing over the shards to protect them from Chi and Hex. Kitaru didn't tell Suzume though, he wouldn't unless he absolutely needed to, it might break her sensitive, sentimental, always trusting everyone blindly heart and somehow, Kitaru didn't like that idea at all.

He was also still painfully aware of how she wore nothing but a towel. The tiger had been trying to keep that thought from his head, and so far he'd done a good job of not thinking about it. Now it was getting a little harder, and he really couldn't figure out why it thrilled him and made him feel embarrassed as well. She was pretty, for a human, but still. Kitaru grit his teeth a bit. He didn't understand the feelings that were waking up inside him, and he wasn't sure he liked them either.

Kiyoto 06-25-2013 09:52 PM

Haru looked over at the two, the demon and the female girl. There seemed to be more going on with them then either wantted to really admit or address at the moment. that was fine for him he supposed, it would be better if he stayed out of their buisiness right? He sighed a bit, feeling slightly as if his presence was more futile and a hazzard to others. Why did he feel this way? The demon inside of him was responding to these odd occurances, since he had met the others back in the forest. Was being around them bringing out something inside of him? If so, what...and what would happen if it did? He shook his head, clearing his mind of such things.

Hex tilted his head at the question. The female was talking to him alright. Asking why he was so hard on Chi. She had to be joking. He laughed, "I will do what I want when I want, I don't take orders from anyone" he says, "Chi is a host and a part of me now, so what is wrong with that?" He places his head back on his arms on Chi's head, "he is to nice, soft and good. So I will be strong and such for the both of us. I care little weather you understand or like it or not. That is how things are, so get over it." Chi sighed lightly, looking up at the other a bit.

~Wild Spirit Wolf~ 06-26-2013 02:32 AM

Hikari tilted her head, a tiny grin on her face. "I see. So, you're tough on Chi-kun because he is fragile. You act that way to toughen him up, not because you hate him, but because you care. All right, then. Well, your turn now. Any questions?" She asked, inviting him to take his turn.

p o p p e t ♥ 06-26-2013 02:31 PM

((So Happy said to say his character had passed out or something and that he would catch up when he came back. We'll say that the castle people carried him to a room of his own where he is being watched because of his "severe" injuries. [yes]))

When they reached Haru, Suzume saw a couple of men carrying the blind man away. She was concerned and it must have read on her face because one stayed behind to update them. Apparently he had been coughing up blood, but they would take him to a room under constant care and they were confident that he would be fine. She nodded as they disappeared.

"Well, I'm glad you're okay at least, Haru," she said to him. "I wasn't sure if we'd see you again." She was smiling, even after the days events, happy to see him okay. "There were wolves in the castle," she added before glancing around instinctively. "I guess they're all gone now." She was sure Kitaru would know if any were around, so she wasn't worried. Strangely she worried the least when the tiger demon was around.

Suzume glanced down at the snake still around Haru's arm. "He's very loyal for a serpent," she said, just making a naive observation. Then two women appeared at the stairs. One of them informed the group, loud enough for Chi and Hikari to hear, that a great feast had been prepared and that it was ready and waiting for them. Then she realized Suzume wasn't clothed. She gasped and covered her mouth with a hand before quickly grabbing Suzume's hand and dragging her away, mumbling things about being so scantily clad around so many men.

While that woman would take Suzume to find proper wear, the others would be lead to the dining area by the remaining woman. The dining room was beautiful. It had not been destroyed during the time that Hanganji "ruled". It was large with a long table stretched across the center of the room. Plush red velvet pillows lined each side, for sitting. Lanterns hung from the ceiling with candles inside, as well as candles on the table, to light the room.

The table held enough food to feed an army and was crowded with an entire roat pig, rice, fish, bread, noodles, tofu, thinly sliced beef, sushi, sea weeds, mushrooms and other vegetables, grilled chicken on bamboo sticks and anything else they may have imagined seeing. While they sat and began filling their plates, geisha's would come around and serve tea and sake. The other geishas would dance and some waited by the doors to show the guests to their rooms as they filled and readied for sleep.

It was late afternoon now. The sun would be setting in the next hour and the storm was long gone. Suzume was in a large room with three other women who were fawning over her long raven black hair, dressing her and fixing her up like some kind of doll. Her katana rested against a wall nearby. She'd never been treated in such a way and while she should have been enjoying it and appreciating it, all she could think of was her new friends.

Nothing new would happen now right? They were safe for now? It was such a hard thing to wrap her mind around with all of the constant dangers that had been thrown at them. Would Niya really be okay? Could they rid Chi of that rude blob that was always beating up on him? Were Kitaru's wounds healing now? Would Haru disappear again? How would she address Hikari's 'need' for the Maboroshi no Ginzuishou?

So many things raced through her mind. A meal and some good uninterrupted sleep would certainly help her to think clearer and bring her closer to her normal self. Though she knew deep down she'd never really be her 'normal' self, ever again. She sighed. A woman asked her if they were bothering her and she shook her head no with a genuinely sincere and thankful smile and they continued on.

((I'll write about Suzume arriving in the dining area in my next post. I need to head out for a bit and didn't want to move too fast.))

If you've all decided to quit playing, please let me know rather than leave me hanging! I don't mind at all. If you don't have the inspiration you don't have the inspiration. My feelings won't be hurt. :) I'd rather just close the play down than be left wondering constantly.

][Sorry, I've been busy. Also I've been having a very crummy week and today has just been the worst.][

Kitaru was silent, letting Suzume speak with Haru, that seemed to be the ink man's name. His ears twitched a bit, and his body relaxed completely finally. Feeling that immediate danger was gone, still he cast a wary glance in Hikari and Chi's direction, he did not trust Hex at all. Or the human boy really, mostly just because the boy was human. Kitaru was biased like that. He was caught off guard when people from the castle came, and started to usher Suzume away from him. He reached out to grab at her, rather belatedly, and missed. Ears twitching. They were taking her to get clothes, but still, so much kept happening he didn't want her out of his sight.

He moved to follow her, but was stopped by a sudden hand on his chest. That nose wrinkled in disdain and he growled. Though before he could do much, he was being ushered off in a different direction by some men. Something about re-bandaging his shoulder and proper clothes for dinner. Apparently no shirt and only hakama pants were not adequate dinner attire. He had growled, but his growls seemed only half hearted. He was tired and hungry. The humans mostly ignored him.

Finally they released him to the dinning room. His long hair had been pulled back into a high ponytail, much to Kitaru's protesting. He was clothed in clean light blue hakama pants and a matching tunic. The shirt held closed by a white cloth belt, and the tie holding his hair up was light blue as well. His golden eyes glinted lightly as he took in the array of food on the table. He didn't trust these people enough to willingly sit down and eat their food, well under normal circumstances.

But he felt so very famished right now. There was so much food, Kitaru wasn't sure where to start. So he picked random things and piled them onto a plate before sitting down in a spot where he could more or less watch the entire room. He would wait a few minutes, golden eyes searching for Suzume, before he began to shovel food into his mouth.
