• Charles felt a hand grab him and he knew immediately it was his mother. For no other was allowed to touch him.
  "But maaaaaaaa," the boy whined, "I don't want to go shopping with you. I hate shopping!"
  
  Then all of a sudden, Charles noticed the puppy that came up to them. He wiggled out of his mother's grasp to go pet the adorable thing, scratching it behind the ears and rubbing down its fur.
  "Aww he's so cute mama! Can we get a puppy?"
  

Anila wiggled as well, petting the top of its head. "Please, momma, one like him?"

Caiele abandoned the pile of fabrics willingly, eying the crowd suspiciously. Quite a variety of folk were positioned about the regular flow of townspeople: she could see signs of eminence and wealth, whether they were both or either.

A merchant forcibly held his basket of baguettes in her face briefly, before she shook her head in dismissal. Caiele pressed further on, forging a path for herself through the dense crowd. She could sense some innocence here; easy prey. Her current condition wasn't suitable for an intense attack on someone with more of a stronger will. This innocence seemed to have high-standing blood, whether claimed royalty, or rightful royalty that was lost - it was intertwined into the innocence. Standing unnaturally erect, Caiele continued to hunt for this source of pure, strong blood...

  The Queen sighed. "Charles Brandon, Mommy needs both you and Anila's help. Or I could send you two on your way back home?" Which was pretty useless because neither of them really wanted to help with the ball. There was still the punishment of no dessert either way for the both of them.
  
  When her kids begged to get a puppy, she didn't need to think about it -- she'd been wanting some pets of her own around the castle. And her two children had no animals to play with but each other. The ones in the menagerie were very limited as well, and were exotic, though not for play. "Kids, you know I'd like to as well but it's not up to me, it's up to your father. We shall ask him when we get home, hm?" Eclair squinted a bit then recognized the man who owned the puppy.
  
  "Sir Antony Blackwell!" she called out, to get his attention.
  

Augustus barked happily and licked their hands as he was getting pet.

"Ah, your majesty," Antony said, bowing slightly and walking over to his queen. "How be you today?" He tousled the hair of the two children.

Phase two might be more difficult for Wilhelm to pass off. He was to get supplies for his taverne most likely by stealing them. He was also to see what was going on in the kingdom, if there was any chance of a way to get into the palace and possibly weasel his way into the family. Or something.

He wasn't paying attention to where he was going while in his daydream and bumped into Caiele. "Sor-," he started and then lay eyes on her face. "Hi."

  "Fantastic, thank you," she smiled. "And yourself?" She looked to the puppy that her children were playing with. "You know, Charles and Anila want a puppy. Do you know of any place I could buy one? I don't know what kind they would like...and I've wanted one of my own as well. Then again, we have to get the approval of my husband, of course, and we rarely see him because he is always so busy."
  
  Eclair let go of her kids. "You may play with Sir Antony's puppy but stay close to us." Looking back to the knight, she asked him, "Have you received an invitation to the upcoming ball? I do believe our messengers sent you one but I just want to be sure. It would be lovely to have you there, and any lady friend you may have, possibly? If not I do have a few ladies-in-waiting..." she joked, laughingly.
  

• Donna paid the lady, and exited the store, walking up behind her majesty, handing her purse back.
  "I paid the tailor, mistress--" and then she noticed Sir Antony and curtsied, bowing her head, "Good day Sir Antony"
  
  Donna tried to hide her blushing cheeks and stepped back behind her queen, keeping her head down. She stole glances back up at him while he and the queen were talking. He was quite handsome indeed, everyone knew. She couldn't help how she felt about him, but she knew there was no way the two of them could ever work. She was but a servant, and him a knight. Oh well, she could still daydream.

Anila bounced back over to her mother after finishing petting the puppy, standing in the folds of her dress, listening quietly.

While strolling the market, Leon was eying some of the fruit in the stands. His stomach rumbled but he didn't think he had enough to buy anything.

"It was a bad idea for me to buy wine last night," he muttered to stomach. "But I'm sure I can pick pocket some geezer today."

A old man was at a stand arguing with the vendor on the price of pears he was selling.

"Or better yet..." he snuck behind the stand and grabbed the bag of coins the vendor has stashed on a flimsy wooden crate and was about to tip-toe away until--

"HEY!" the vendor shouted.

"Uh-oh!" Leon dashed down the street while the vendor chased him down. With the vendor hot on his trails, Leon scrambled trying to climb a wall. When he reached the top he slipped and landed head first on the other side. Slightly dazed, he didn't know where he was now.

• Charles tuned his mother out, continuing to play with the puppy. He decided he'd ask his father about a puppy later at dinner. Hopefully he wouldn't be busy...again.
  He looked up at Sir Antony and smiled.
  

• 
  Eclair heard a crash somewhere in the marketplace. "What was that?" she said, turning her head around. She couldn't see offhand what was going on since the area was so crowded. "Donna, Antony, would you two mind seeing what happened? I hope nobody got hurt."
  

• Donna perked her head up when she heard the crash.
  "Yes, your majesty," she curtsied and started off in the direction of the noise.
  

"Ow, ow, ow..." Leon got up slowly. "I guess that wasn't a very good idea." The coins were all over the ground not to mention a small gash on the side of his head from the fall. Still dazed, he tried to pick up the scattered coins. His stomach gurgled again but even louder.

"... The things I do for you."

"I did receive the invite, and am looking forward to going," he said, a smile on his lips. "As for the puppy, my brother's dog just had a litter, and he is looking to get rid of the last few puppies. I'm sure he would be honoured to let the royal family have one."

"Of course my queen," he said in response to her statement about the crash. "Anything for the kingdom and its inhabitants, you know that."

He walked off, walking next to Donna. "Afternoon m'lady, how are things?" he asked, trying to start a conversation while they were investigating.

  She smiled to her children. "Well, my dears, what do you think? Would you like to have a couple of Antony's brother's puppies?" There was still, of course, the matter of discussion with the King but Eclair could easily sway him.
  

"Oh yes, momma, I'd love one of the puppies," Anila smiled brightly in delight at the thought of a pet. She'd care for them well and feed and water and play with him or her.

((I wanted my character to have a Pomeranian but like...this is the 1500s-1600s and Pommies weren't around till the 1800s ;_; ))

• "Good afternoon dear sir. Things are quite well with her majesty," Donna said to the knight, as he wouldn't be asking her about herself. It would seem awkward for a knight to be asking about her. She was a common woman with little if any status. She continued on, "there are a few matters with the ball which need attending to, but other than that everything's in perfect order."
  Donna reached a puddle and picked up her skirt as she tried to step over it. She normally wouldn't really care, but as the clothes she wore were bought all by her majesty, she couldn't exactly show ungratefulness by letting them get dirty.
  

• Charles perked up.
  "Yes mama, I'd love to have a puppy!" He was so excited, he jumped up in the air. He couldn't wait to have his very own puppy. It'd be so awesome to have one of his own; he'd always dreamed of such.
  

[I love Pomeranian! I want one myself, but yeah, that stinks. I was thinking like a German Shepard-ish dog. They are cute^^]

Antony chuckled slightly in his throat. "Well, I was asking about you, but everything in perfect order is wonderful." His eyes saw the puddle, and his chivalric training kicked in. "Allow me miss," he said, lifting her over the puddle. "Shan't get your dress filthy, t'would be a shame."

  Donna blushed lightly, trying to hide it, as she allowed Antony to help her. His hands were smooth and yet rough, just as men's hands were supposed to be. She thanked him and cursed at herself in her mind. She should have just walked around the damn thing, what was she thinking? No, exactly, she wasn't. She needed to concentrate on looking for what made the noise. But she couldn't help responding to the kind sir.
  "Oh," she paused, "I'm doing well. The queen is very kind to me, more than she should be. And you sir, I hope you are doing well?"
  Donna didn't want to be impolite.
  

• 
  "All right then. We'll do a bit more shopping...do you two want anything to eat? After that we can go home." She looked to Donna and Antony still looking to the crash that happened in the marketplace. Thinking about what kind of puppy she wanted for herself, she envisioned a tiny fluffy ball of love. 'Oh that's preposterous...there aren't any dogs like that!' the Queen thought to herself.
  
  She looked to Antony's puppy and continued to watch her children enjoy themselves.

Anila's eyes lit up at the mention of food, she was always hungry, despite being such a petite little waif.

"Can we get meat pies and juice momma? Fresh hot ones from the baker at the end of the lane?"

  She nodded. "That's fine. I'm a little hungry myself. Charles, how about you?" She looked over her shoulder towards the direction of Donna and Antony, then motioned to her two guards that were still with her. Getting up from her seat at the fountain, she held her childrens' hands with each of hers and led the way down the street.
  

Charles looked up at his mother.
"I'm a bit hungry too mama," he said and heard his stomach grumble. He hadn't eaten yet that day so a little food would be divine.
