When they reached Nikita's house, Niki unlocked the door, and went inside, setting the fabric in a corner. "So, tea sound good to you?" She asked, holding up a kettle she was about to set to boil for herself, even if Phe didn't want any.

"Yes, tea sounds wonderful. I never get to have any at school because the older girls always hog the hot water." she scrunched up her face then shook her head. "That's the problem with being an orphen basically... you only get what's left over"

In a short time, Kethalanthys and Silver found themselves standing just in side the tree line of the forest looking out over the clearing that ended with the first building of the village. "Stay," he said to Silver as he scratched the wolf behind his ears. The wolf complied, settling on his haunches and looking tentatively at his friend. Kethalanthys made his way through the outskirts to the center of the townships, nodding here and there to the many familiar faces and getting responses in return.

"Try being the youngest of four kids. It's all hand-me-downs there, too." As the water warmed up, Nikita took stock of what dyes she had on hand, for when she was ready to use that fabric.

She smiled, watching Nikita sort out her dye.
"So what do you do out here all alone?"

"I'm a Healer, and when I have time, I dye fabric and make dresses. Nothing fancy, but I can sell them for pocket change." She was humble about her hobby, but if she had the money for good fabric and certain rare dyes, she was sure she could do something great...

Ic: Phe nodded, looking over the prety fabrics that were laying on the shelf.
"I've never seen any one wearing anything this nice." she said picking up a bolt of the undied fabric, which even though it was still plain in color had a rich texture in the weave and was soft as silk. "Not even any one at the palace. I'm studying to be a Healer as well, though there are others in my class who are more talented. It's because my magic is more elemental, so it holds me back some times." She ran her hand over the soft fabric again, before shifting her attention to the boiling tea pot.
"Looks like the water's ready"

"Wait until I dye it and make a dress out of it. Then, it'll be really special." Nikita checked the tea. It was indeed ready, so she poured two cups. She had never believed in dainty teacups, and instead used the type of tankard most would use only for ale, adjusting the amount of tea leaves to fit. "I have some a new scarlet dye that I'd like to try."

She sipped her tea quietly, then looked at the sun setting outside the window.
"Wow, it's really that late? I have to be getting back to school so I don't get locked out again." She gave a respectfull corutsey and ran off twords the town. Her little drawstring bag still hanging over the back of Nikita's chair.

Phe looked out the window at the sky... she really shouldn't have stayed so late at her new friends house...but she was having fun. The teachers didn't belive her that she was visiting Nikita since she was always so solatary. So Phe was stuck in detention instead of going out to play in the forst again like every day after her lessons.

The old wagon pulled up about a mile from town and let him off. the human frame in a dark blue and very elaborate cloak of what seemed to be spider-webs jumped down from the wagon and shook hands with the driver before he started down the road with 2 backpacks, one over each shoulder beneath the cloak. The day was cool and it made him smile as he walked into town. He went straight to an inn, rented a room, secured his belongings in his room and venture out into the town. His cloak was open and it revealed his fine elven clothing and his slightly human features. He was looking for a small shop he could rent to make and sell his jewelry.

Though her people are thought to be barbarians they were infact some of the few people to have the barding linage, and folling the tradition as soon as she was of age "17" she was sent out of the village to begin making her songs. (Hooray another D&D player! This character is actually the same character i play in my groups high level game.)
Thoril wandered the streets most of the day, occasionally stopping to play the violin and entertain some of the passersby. He purchased a small snack from a street vendor and finally found his way to a very run down little building near the edge of the village and he looked into the window. It had been empty for some time and with no way to contact any possible owner he rubbed his chin in frustration "Well this would be just perfect... maybe put in some new counters and a workshop in the back... and of course a small place to sleep and live... perhaps an add-on, I just need to find the person whos in charge..." He shrugged as he continued to play the violin and he stepped up to a guard and offered a few gold pieces for information on how to find the owner of this house or a legal means of obtaining permission to use the building for his buisness "...so if you'd be so kind as to point me in the direction of someone who is in charge, perhaps i should inquire about it at the palace?" The guard nodded and shrugged alittle. "well my good man if you happen to find out meet me back here later and i'll reward you properly" He nodded as he put away his violin and made his way towards the palace. Hopefully the people there would be abit more helpful to him in obtaining license to sell in their city.
Along the way he stopped to admire the works of any other jewelers he could find, asking them about technique and favored materials. Curious about the type of city he had found himself in... he continued down the road towards the palace, drawing much attention as he walked the streets in his fine outfit and powerful presence.
(all i'm really waiting for is an OK from the head honcho, until then i'm just killing time with posts of enjoying the little village.)

IC: The teacher looked from Nikita to Phe.
"Well she shouldn't have been out in the forest any way. She knows the rules, and has had her share of dention because of it as well. No student, who is not at the Apprentice level is allowed out of the town gates unchaparoned. Just think of it, a Novice alone in the woods? they could be hurt badly before we found them" she shook her head, then dismissed Phe, not wanting to anger Nikita.
Phe grinned as they walked away from the building.
"Thanks for getting me out of that, I hate when she makes me sit in detention. Especually when there is an aurhorised trip out of town, and I had to miss it. It's the best way to sneak off to the beach, though they think I just get lost in the forest... no sense of direction... I always get home just fine."
She smiled, then looked in her bag.
"Good, every thing is here. Miss Nikita, do you know a good jewler here in town? My mother and her sisters gave me some pearls that they want me to sell for supplies for them."

Thoril made arrangements with the previous owner of the building to buy it out at a fair but low price. He realized the place would take work but it was nothing he couldnt handle with abit of his magic. He opened the old shop door and stepped inside, having retrieved his bags from the tavern and immediately as the door closed he began to hurl magic from one side of the building to the other. Small enchantments, nothing that a third year apprentice couldnt master easily but it made the actual work easier.
Within an hour the whole place was in tip-top shape, broken counters and shelves repaired, all the dust and cobwebs were blown out of a broken window which sealed itself over as soon as the dust passed. He had even taken the time to craft by hand a modest sign to hang outside. "Thoril Greeves, Master jeweler and blacksmith, Free appraisals. Buying and selling all rare gems and metals... Hopefully that sounds friendly enough. wouldnt want to scare off the natives" He hung the sign out in front above the door and stepped back inside. he made quick work of setting up his displays as well, laying out various rings and charms and necklaces and broches... he had made all manner of jewelry and it was all ready to be sold. He laid out the welcome mat at that point and rested himself at a soft seat behind the counter, twisting and toying with some thick gold wire to make a pretty little choker. "nothing left to do now but wait, relax, and enjoy my retirement... Perhaps i should get a pet of some kind" He smiled to himself and went back to twisting wires waiting for his customers to show up.

Kethalanthys made his way to the apothecary's shop. "Greetings from the woodlings, George."
The man behind the counter looked up and smiled with a nod, "Kethlan, my boy, how have you been?"
Kethalanthys smirked at the short hand of his name as it often amused him to hear it from the humans he was acquainted with and also about calling him a boy. He was a man grown by elven standards but still on the younger side. Whats more was that Kethalanthys remembered coming to this village with his own father to do business with George's great grandfather. "The forest has ever fulfilled my needs as usual. And you, how has business been for you lately?" he asked.
George responded, "Its been mighty fine, mighty fine indeed. A man come here from a far off town wanting to sell me some sort of special extract from a metal as a cure all. I think it was from silver. Anyway, after a bit of research I comes to discover that its not especiallq poor for the body in small doses but that over use in larger quantities can turn the skin blue" Kethalanthys anterrupted with a bit of laughter, but George cnntinued. "I've been testing it on myself in smaLl quantities and I've found that it does give md a bit of energy in the morning so I've been selling it. No blud towns people yet, or at least s a result of t`e product." He !yed Kethalanthys' bag, "What do you have for me this time?"
"Just the usual, a bit of this and a bit of that. The usual price should do quite fine," he responded as he began to pull his goods from his pack.
"You always sell things to the shop so cheaply, Kethlan. Anything I can do for you?" George inquired.
"No sir, the meager amount of gold is all I need to trade for the feathers at the butchers, but thanks though."
"Well alright, you just let me know sometime," George said as he counted out a meager 5 gold pieces.
After Kethalanthys received his pay, he said his goodbyes and made his way through the town, heading to the butcher's shop.

He was sitting behind the counter still, twisting wires of gold into jewelry as he sang an elven song to himself softly. it was a very rare battle hymn written by a pair of bards he once traveled with... He looked out the window and put down the gold wires, with a smile he stood behind the counter and cleared his throat alittle in preparation for his first customers. he looked himself over for a second and flattened out the place or two on his robes that had ruffled abit while he was sitting. A lovely lady approached and he wanted to make a good first impression to help drum up more buisness.

It was raining in the forest, and this was a bad thing for Lyrene. Her little shack provided no shelter from the rain. You couldnt eaven call the roof a roof it was so worn. "I think we need to move" she said to thorn. The only reason that Lyrene was still living there was that she had lived there her whole life. But now she would need to find another place to live. "I think we should find our new house in town" She said to the large black bird resting on her shoulder. The rain had stoped now and the sun was out. "I will have to get a job to make the money I will need to buy a new home" she thought to herself. "Well I guess we are going into town" Lyrene said to Thorn. She got out of the chair she had been sitting in and started packing up her things. She didnt have much of anything so it didnt take long. Once she had everything packed she walked out the door with Thorn still on her shoulder and started the 2 hour walk into town.
