Kethalanthys made his way through the town. On his way to the butcher's he noticed a new jewelry store. Passing by he could see the shop owner was already being bombarded by customers and that the owner had some elven lineage though was muddied by human minglings. He remembered his father's disdain for half elves, often referring to them as bastards when none were around. However, this was one of the few opinions that Kethalanthys never shared with his father, preferring to allow a person's character be the measure of the man. He continued on, arriving at the butcher's shortly there after. Johan looked over his shoulder at the entrance as the door rang when Kethalanthys walked through the door. "Word was about that you's in town. How's them woods?" he asked.

"Growing and as green as ever, how are things on your end?" he returned as he pulled his scarf up over his mouth and nose. Kethalanthys could never stand the slaughter house smell that plagued this shop for long.

"It be good. Folks want meat, and I gives it to 'em. I have yer bow shootin' feathers bagged already," he said pointing to a burlap sack over by the money drawer. "1 gold oughta do."

"Why thank you. I appreciate you doing this for me," he said as he placed one of the five gold coins on the counter. "If you ever want to try your hand at selling some wild game, let me know. I can usually scare some up with no problem."

"That I will, elf, that I will." Kethalanthys always offered but the butcher always responded with that answer. No matter, Kethalanthys seldom ate meat and realistically refrained from killing animals lest he had the intentions of using it for more than just meat. "See you next time," Kethalanthys said over his shoulder as he left, deciding to head to the local inn for a bite to eat.

Phe looked at the little silver pin she had been handed.

"It's so pretty, thank you" se pinned it on her shoulder. "I do have some things that I may be willing to sell."

She took out a little silk cloth, laying it on the counter and emptied her little bag of pearls onto it. Most were moderate in size, about the size of a small coin, some were tiny as a pea, and there were one or two that were larger than the otehrs. But they were all beautiful, with a slightly pink glow to them.

"Ah, these are quite lovely..." He picked them up one at a time and he stared at them intently for a moment or two. His eyes glowed ever so slightly as he did this, carefully appraising the items "... excellent specimens, they could be well used in a necklace or as components for a magic spell... where did you happen upon all these pretty pearls?" he laid them out in size order on the counter and began to do the math in his head to figure out what they'd be worth overall.

"My mom and my Aunties gave them to me." she said in a matter-of-fact way that to her seemed like enough of an explination. When she saw the puzzled look on the shop owners face she expanded on her explination...

"They are afraide to leave their home beoynd the forest... well since my father left and can't protect them. So when ever they find any thing, or need any thing they send me to do it for them."

Lyrene had finally reached the edge of town. The sun was just starting to go down. She thought it would be better to find an inn to sleep in rather than start looking for work that day. As Lyrene walked into the small town of Zenan, She noticed that most of the poeple she saw stared at her. "They are all humans!" she wisperd to Thorn. The last time Lyrene was in town she was 12. After wandering around looking for an inn she walked up to a old human man. "Um hi" she said. "Hello" the man replyed. Lyrene smiled and said "do you know where I could find and inn to sleep for the night?". "Sure do" the man said and told her how to get there. "Thank you so much" Lyrene said as she walked off. Looking at a sign she was happy to see that the inn the man had told her of should be just around the corner. And there it was, she walked into the wooden door that was just under a hanging sign that had the name of the inn carved into it. There were a lot of people in the room she had just entered. And only one of them was an elf, She was glad to see an elf. He was sitting at a table having something to eat. Lyrene walked over to the bar where a few humans were ordering food. "Ok is that all then?" said the girl standing behind the bar. "Yep" one of the humans said. And they all went off to sit at a table and wait for the food they just ordered. "Can I help you?" the girl asked Lyrene. "Yes I would like a room to stay in please" she said. The girl noded "do want anything to eat?" she asked. "Sure" Lyrene said. "Can I have just some dried meat?" she asked. The girl went in a back room and came out with a strip of dried meat. "Here" she said handing it to Lyrene. "thank you" Lyrene said and started to walk to a table. "Wait you gotta pay first!" the girl yelled. "Oh right sorry" Lyrene said, "how much?". "One silver" The girl behind the bar said. Lyrene took one silver out of her bag and handed to the girl. The girl grabed it. "Now go sit down". She said to Lyrene "Ok" Lyrene said. and went to sit down. All of the tables were taken. She walked up to the elf, and asked him "Can I sit with you?"

Thoril smiled as he looked over the pearls "well lets see, how much were you looking to get for these shiny pearls my dear girl?" He looked at them once more and winked to her. He was new in town and trying to make the best impression possible, besides he already had alot of wealth from his time as an adventurer... he could afford to be nice to his first visitors.

"I've never had to sell pearls before, so I'm not sure how much they should sell for... Usually they give me fish and coral... and rough spun cloth... but these they have been collecting for a long time" She looked up at Nikita to see if she had any advice..

He laughed alittle as he looked to the pearls "Its hard entering a new market isnt it? I remember how much of a headache it was when i gave up adventuring the first time to be a blacksmith... My prices were abit lower than most and it was hard until it leveled out..." He consulted an old manual from one of his bags and looked to the girl. "How about..." He counted the pearls and did some math in his head "... 500 gold for the lot of them?"

(sorry to drag this out, economics are a pain in the neck in fantasy worlds :D )

Kethalanthys entered the inn, giving the keeper a nod. He took a seat on a familiar stool at the bar that gave him view of those entering from the kitchen and the main entrance alike. The elderly keeper approached him, "What can I do ya for today, Kethlan?" she asked.

He regarded the lderly woman, her worn skin and long, thin silver hair. Someday he would have similar features but that could be around a millenium a way still. The thought often times shook him, but he had a long time before it really needed to concern him. "Ill take whatever fresh fruits you have from one of the local orchards. What kind of wines do you have, Maggie?"

Maggie responded, "We have plenty of oranges and apples. As far as wines go we have a couple reds and a white. Not my fair though, so you'll have to take your chances."

Kethalanthys smirked, "I guess I'll take red B?"

"Alright," she responded, "I'll be right back." With she left, leaving Kethalanthys to himself.
