Marreck sighed as he closed his eyes and fropped his chin to Emelaide's shoulder. "I hate that I'm making her sick." He admitted softly. "I just want her to be happy and well and I'm taking it away." He murmured, feeling ashamed.
~~~ "Yes." Ariala said happily as she hurried out of the bed and pulled a light pink dress over her head. Ariala moved to the mirror and ran her fingers through her blond hair, making sure it was presentable before they left. |
Placing a tender kiss upon Marreck's head, Marie wrapped her arm around him in a hug, "Marreck. You are taking nothing from her. If Emelaide were awake she would be furious for the way you are talking! Do you really think Emelaide feels as you say?"
- Chuckling, Dimitrius quickly dressed in a simple T-shirt and jeans before fixing his hair. Linking his fingers through Ariala's, Dimitrius placed a couple of tender kisses upon Ariala's neck as he inquired softly, "Ready to go pick up Ria, love?" |
"Of course she doesn't." Marreck said. "But Emelaide wouldn't see the truth even though its right in front of her. I got her pregnant and she's suffering because of me. I just want her and the babies to be healthy." Marreck sighed.
~~~ "Ready." Ariala grinned as she pulled on a gold pair of flats along with leg warmers and a jacket. "And all bundled up." She laughed before standing on her toes and giving Dimitrius a soft kiss. "Let's go." She said as she took his hand and bounced happily out the door towards the rope ladder which she quickly climbed down. |
"Marreck, they are. They are right as rain! Cannot you see it? She isn't suffering. Emelaide won't even know what's happening to her for she will be sleeping through it all. Don't worry so much, you'll die of worry and then where will Emelaide be?" she teased with another kiss before leaving the couple alone and returned to the group in the Dining Room.
- Dimitrius laughed as he grabbed his jacket and followed after her. Joining her at the bottom of the ladder, Dimitrius wrapped his arm around Ariala's shoulders as he led here towards Winterglade. "Think Auntie will be angry with us for taking so long to pick up Ria?" |
"I think she'll forgive us somehow." Ariala laughed as she stood on her toes to give Dimitrius a soft kiss. "At least she'll forgive me. Her nephew maybe not so much." She teased before taking his hand in her's and leading him to the border.

Rolling his eyes playfully, Dimitrius ducked his head to place a light kiss upon her cheek. "Aye, but without her nephew she would never have her great-niece to look forward to," retorted Dimitrius with a proud grin, "So she's bound to forgive me at one point or another."
- Emelaide shivered lightly as she snuggled closer to Marreck and wrapped her arms tighter around his waist. "Mar?" she said sleepily, "It's cold.. May we go home?" |
"Maybe." Ariala laughed as they reached the border and began walking through Winterglade. "But I am the one who's carrying said grand-niece for eleven months I think I have a better chance at being forgiven."
~~~ "Of course." Marreck said worriedly as he put one arm under Emelaide's knees and the other behind her back to lift her from the bed. Marreck brought her out into the kitchen to say goodbye to the family as he cradled her to his chest. |
"Hmm, you have me there, love," said Dimitrius with a laugh as he placed a tender kiss upon her neck and caressed her abdomen with his free hand, "Auntie's going to adore Lily when she's born. If we think Ria is spoiled by her, wait until Lily comes - she'll be even more spoiled."
- Lorcale offered a small smile at Marreck as he looked up at him, "Hathom will go home with you. He has Emelaide's magic, he should be able to reverse whatever she does while she's asleep." "Marreck, my son, do not worry. She'll be alright. We'll check on you in a couple of days. Please send word if anything happens," Marie said with a small smile as she handed him a box of powder, "Add this to her food and it should help stop her magic from getting too out of hand. I can't guarantee anything, but it might help." Having fallen asleep before they even reached the kitchen, Emelaide didn't say anything as her family spoke. |
"Very true." Ariala laughed as they reached Cindalina's house and knocked gently on the door.
~~~ Marreck smiled a small smile as he took the box in one hand and carried Emelaide out the door, not caring if her cousin followed as his mind filled with guilt. |
Cindalina looked at the door curiously, then realized it must be Dimitrius and Ariala come for Dimeria, "Come on in darlings! I'll go wake up Dimeria."
Dimitrius chuckled as he opened the door, "I believe Dimeria is always asleep when we come here." As Dimitrius led Ariala into the living room by the fire, Cindala came out holding the hand of a very sleepy Dimeria. Walking towards them, Dimitrius scooped Dimeria up in his arms and held her close, "You may go back to sleep, Ria love. We'll take you home after a visit with Auntie, alright?" Dimeria simply nodded before yawning and falling back asleep. "How did the furniture search go?" Cindalina asked as she sat in her chair and Dimitrius sat upon the couch with Dimeria cradled in his lap. - Hathom followed Marreck with a sigh, "Mareck, come on. Don't look like that. Is that really what you want Em to see when she wakes up? A mopey fiancee? What are you worried about? That she'll hate you for making her sleep all the time? Marreck, she loves sleeping, she loves you, she loves those twins. You have nothing to be ashamed of or guilty about except making yourself unreasonably feeling so." |
"Good." Ariala smiled as she sat beside Dimitrius. "We bought a nursery set, a bedroom set, and a dining room set." She laughed. "And Mr. Talin is carving lilies onto the crib for Lily Jaserione Cordei." Ariala said with a grin at Cindalina, wondering how she'd take the news that they had chosen her middle name for the baby.
~~~ "I know." Marreck sighed as he continued to walk. "But I'll feel better when she does." He said as they crossed the border and entered Elimlee. |
"Ah, wonderful! I'm sure she'll lo-wait.. Lily Jaseri-OH! Ariala, my dear, you named her after me? Oh! I don't know what to say! I'm speechless! Humbled! Honored! Oh, my dears.. whatever made you use my middle name?" Cindalina asked softly as tears of joy formed in her eyes.
- Hathom sighed as Emelaide's temperatures dropped even further. Using his magic to react with her own, Hathom forced her temperatures to rise. "Mar?" Emelaide murmured softly as she snuggled closer to him. "It's hot.." she managed to say before falling back asleep in his arms. Hathom rolled his eyes at Emelaide as she spoke, but refused to lessen his magic, "She's going to say things like that every time her you do something that will negate what her magic is doing. She doesn't realize what her magic is doing, so she can't feel the temperatures rising and falling. She'll get used to it, just pay her no mind." |
"Cindalina, you've helped us through so much. We think that our child should have a name of someone so important to us." Ariala laughed as she leaned into Dimitrius. "Right, love?" She asked as she looked up at him.
~~~ "Right." Marreck sighed as they reached the rope ladder and stepped onto a sturdy branch of a tree he'd begun to grow. His magic wasn't as fast as Ariala's but the tree was growing larger by the second as he carried Emelaide to the top and stepped onto the rope bridge. |
"Aye," Dimitrius said with a warm smile, "We love you, Auntie, and you enabled us to be joined forever. We cannot ever thank you enough, so we wished to honor you with our first child."
Cindalina blushed as she looked at the couple, small tears running down her cheeks, "You two are true dears. Thank you." - Climbing the ladder, Hathom hurried to Marreck's side as he kept his magic at work, "Which way Prince Charming?" Hathom teased as he made a reference to the muggle tale of Sleeping Beauty, doubting Marreck would understand but thinking himself clever just the same. |
Ariala simply smiled happily as she rested her head on Dimitrius's shoulder, one hand caressing her stomach, while she gazed into the fire.
~~~ Marreck arched his eyebrow at the Winter Elf as he led the way through around the rope bridges. "Can you get the door? My hands are full." He said with a small smile once they'd reached the house. |
Wiping her cheeks, Cindalina chuckled, "Look at me. You must think me an old fool for carrying on so! Come, we must celebrate. Would you dears like some pie or cake? I'm afraid Em and Marreck took all the cookies," she added with a laugh.
- "Course. Sleeping beauty here must weigh a ton," Hathom said with a laugh as he opened the door and stepped out of the way for Marreck to pass through with his cousin. |
"Pie?" Ariala asked as she lifted her head up, the small elf inside of her kicking at the suggestion of pie. "What kind of pie?" She asked happily as she stood from the couch.
~~~ Marreck stepped through the doorway and carried Emelaide into the bedroom, laying her out across the bed before returning to the kitchen where he set down the small box her mother had given him. Marreck busied himself with making a vegetable soup, mixing in some of the powder, should Emelaide wake up soon. |
Cindalina chuckled as she motioned for Ariala to sit back down, "Sit down, dear, I'll bring it to you. It's cold tonight, you'd be better by that fire. As for pie, I have apple, blueberry, blackberry, and strawberry. Which would you like? Oh! And I also have peach cobbler."
"I'll take some peach cobbler, Auntie, if you don't mind?" "Of course! What about you, dear? What will you and the little ones have?" Cindalina said with a smile as she stood from her chair. - Hathom sighed as he shut the door before going to the kitchen, feeling bad for his nervous wreck of a cousin-in-law. "Want any help? I can stay the night if you wish, to make sure things don't get too out of hand." |
"Peach cobbler sounds delicious." Ariala smiled as she sat back down beside Dimitrius and snuggled close against his side, careful not to disturb Dimeria as she did so. "Thank you, Cindalina." She added.
~~~ Marreck ran his fingers through his hair nervously as he turned back to Hathom, the soup starting to simmer behind him. "I'd appreciate it. There's a spare bedroom but we don't have furniture in there. All we have is the couch." Marreck offered. |
"You're welcome. I'll be back in just a bit," Cindalina said with a smile before scurrying off to the kitchen for two plates of peach cobbler and a piece of strawberry pie.
Dimitrius smiled as he wrapped his free arm around Ariala's waist and ducked his head to place a long, tender kiss upon her lips. "I think we just made her the happiest elf in Winterglade." - Hathom laughed as he nodded, "That's alright. That's all I have at Auntie's too. Can't touch the Princess's room; leaving it just as she left it for when you two go visit and wish to stay the night. How many other rooms don't you have furnished in this place? Leave it to my cousin to leave decorating until the last minute when she needs to use the rooms," Hathom added with a laugh as he sat at the table. "Mar?" Emelaide called sleepily from the bedroom as she tried to stand from the bed, only to fall down seconds later for her limbs were still sleeping and not functioning, causing a loud thump to be heard even in the kitchen. "That couldn't have been.." Hathom looked at Marreck, his eyes wide, before standing up and darting towards the bedroom. |
"I think so too." Ariala smiled against Dimitrius's lips before arching her neck to give him a second kiss yet she ducked her head with a wince at the last moment. "Ow." She said softly,. both hands going over her stomach. "Patience is a virtue." She sighed as she curled closer to Dimitrius.
~~~ Marreck felt his heart drop to the floor as he darted after Hathom and bent to the floor beside Emelaide, cradling her in his arms. "Em." He chided, forcing his breathing to remain even in his panic. "Will you please stop trying to move when you're not well? I swear, love, you're going to be the death of me. Then where will you be?" He asked as he placed a soft kiss on her cheek. |
Chuckling, Dimitrius tenderly caressed Ariala's abdomen and tried to calm Lily, "Lily, my girl, don't beat your mother. Auntie is old, give her time. You'll have your cobbler in a bit if you behave."
- Emelaide frowned as she snuggled closer to Marreck as best she could. "Something smells delicious.. and I wanted to be with you, not alone in our room," Emelaide murmured sleepily, "I do not know why I'm so tired.. but.." Emelaide tapered off as she fell back asleep, her head resting against Marreck's chest as her magic raised the temperatures around them to suffocatingly hot. Hathom sighed as he forced the temperatures back down to a cool temperature, yet still slightly warmer than normal, so that Emelaide would still be alright. "Stubborn mule.. You'll have your hands full with this one. I'll go check the soup. If you need me to stay longer than just tonight, I'll run back to Auntie's and let them know, if you'd like," added Hathom as he let his magic to go work on negating Emelaide's as he headed out to the kitchen to give the couple some privacy. |
Ariala smiled happily as the small elf inside of her seemed to be soothed by Dimitrius's voice. "What would I do without you?" Ariala asked as she arched her neck to give Dimitrius a small kiss.
~~~ "Em." Marreck sighed as he lifted her back onto the bed. "You think I planned on leaving you in here alone? I was making you soup. Honestly, my love, you need some patience." He said as he laid her back against the bed and cupped her chin gently. |
Dimitrius chuckled as he returned her kiss and teased softly, "Be in pain forever?"
A few moments later, Cindalina appeared carrying the deserts and placed them upon the small coffee table between them with forks beside them, "Bon appetit!" Taking her pie, Cindalina took a bite and smiled as she sat back in her chair, "So how is Lily? What are you able to feel so far? I've never seen an Elimlee pregnancy before, this is a first for me so I'm very excited to hear all of the latest progressions." - Emelaide stirred from his touch, a smile forming upon her lips as she sleepily opened her eyes as much as she could, which was very little seeing as how all they wanted to do was close again when she tried. "What smells so yummy?" Adding the finishing touches to the soup, Hathom let the soup simmer for awhile longer before dishing it into bowls. Placing them onto a tray along with spoons to eat with, Hathom went about searching for something the couple could drink with their soup. |
"Well she heard about your peach cobbler and started kicking." Ariala laughed as she picked up the plate of peach cobbler and took a few bites. "She's been moving a bit lately, and she always seems to calm down to Dimitrius's voice." Ariala laughed.
~~~ "Soup." Marreck said as he laid beside Emelaide, sitting up somewhat so that her head rested against his chest. "If you're too tired to eat, love, you can rest. I'll wake you up to eat. Just promise me that you're not going to injure yourself trying to find me again." Marreck sighed as he placed soft kisses in her hair. |
