"Hm I guess that's true. But I hope they are just like you, maybe a little more even-tempered." Marreck teased with a laugh before shifting some so he could see the catalog as well. "What about that one, love?" He asked as he pointed to a wooden cradle that was a deep brown color and had flowers carved in it. "We could see if we could get a second thing carved as well, something to represent Winterglade as well."
"Mmm, I like that one! What flower is that, though.. I've never seen it before on my part of the Earth. Is it a southern hemisphere flower?" Emelaide asked excitedly before pinching his nose lightly, teasingly, "On the note of my temper, however, you know very well you love me flaws and all, including that temper of mine. Need I remind you you have a temper as well, my darling?"
"I don't know what you're implying Em but I assure you that I am always evern-tempered." Marreck said with a wink before lookng back down at the page. "Its red begonia, love." Marreck said as he looked over the other cribs on the page as well however none of them could stand up as well to the flowered crib in Marreck's eyes.
"It sounds beautiful.." Emelaide said dreamily as she circled the information. "Now, to find another one. I feel as if we need a more.. manly, cradle." Emelaide said mysteriously with a grin.
"Em." Marreck grinned as his head snapped up to meet her's. "Please tell me we're having a boy." He said with an ever growing smile as he looked down at Emelaide's stomach and back to her eyes.
"That's a secret," Emelaide teased with a grin as she placed a tender kiss on his lips, "and I dare say that you will never get it out of me."
"Hm but I think I shall." Marreck smiled as he leaned upwards and deepened their kiss slightly before pulling away. "Is it true, Em. Are we having a boy and a girl?" He asked excitedly, practically begging for an answer.
"I dare say you won't, and I shall never tell," Emelaide said with a wicked grin as she placed long, sweet kisses on Marreck's lips. "I love you, but it is too much fun seeing you squirm about the possibilities."
"You're an awful tease." Marreck pouted childishly. "But I'm sure I can find someone to tell me." He countered with a playful grin. "Not everyone likes to torture me like you do." Marreck reminded her before turning his head back to the pages of the catalog.
"Oh really? And whom will you ask?" Emelaide said with a laugh as they looked through the cradles and cribs to find two cradles and one more crib. "Oh! I like this one," Emelaide said with a grin as she pointed to a dark cherry cradle with snowflakes and trees of all sorts carved into it. "What do you think?"
"I think its perfect." Marreck smiled up at Emelaide. "And I'm sure I can find someone. You said that male winter elves can tell about the babies. I'm sure Dimitrius wouldn't deny me knowing what my babies are." Marreck said with a coy smile as a knock came on the door.
Standing up, Marreck walked over and opened the door to see three elves carrying a sofa and immediately directed them inside. "Em, where do you want them to put this?" He asked his fiancee. |
"Facing the fireplace," Emelaide said with a happy smile as she tried her best to maneuver to where the Living Room was to be, "In here."
The three elves followed Emelaide into the living room area and set the sofa where she had requested. "How's it look, Em?" Marreck asked as he made his way to her wheelchair and hooked an arm around her shoulders.
"It's a little off center... Move it to the left a few inches and it should be perfect," Emelaide said happily as she linked her fingers with Marreck's.
The movers went around the couch and adjusted as they were told. "Is this right?" The oldest one asked with a warm smile.
"That looks perfect." Marrck encouraged as he reached into the pocket of his trousers for his small bag of gold to pay them for the furniture. |
When the movers had left, Emelaide grinned happily as she looked at the couch. It was elegant and what they had wanted, but Emelaide was even more proud because it was the first piece of furniture in their new home. "It's perfect.." Emelaide whispered softly as she looked up at Marreck. "Help me over to it? We can continue our searches far more comfortably sitting on the couch. "As for Dimitrius, however," Emelaide said with a grin, "He will not breathe a word without my permission."
"I'm sure I can coax someone into telling me. Don't doubt my abilities." Marreck laughed as he wheeled Emelaide forwardand lifted her out of the chair and onto the couch carefully before walking the movers back to the door.
"Thank you." Marreck smiled as he handed over the proper amount of money. "Not a problem, sir." The elf in charge said before leading his two workers away and Mareck shut the door to return to his fiancee. |
Stretching out on the couch, happy not to be confined, Emelaide caressed her abdomen as she asked it gently, "If you think I should tell Papa, then stop giving Mama so much trouble." Within moments, the twins had stopped their squirming and Emelaide couldn't help but laugh. "I suppose they think the surprise should come from their mother's lips, not from the lips of someone else," Emelaide said with a wink as she looked over at Marreck.
"Then you should tell me." Marreck grinned as he put both hands on the back of the sofa and leaned over to peer at Emelaide. "Pretty please?" He asked with a small grin.
Emelaide smiled as she placed a long, sweet kiss on his lips. "How about this. We designate your left cheek to be a boy, and your right cheek to be a girl. You know we're having twins, so there will only be two kisses. For the gender of each, I'll place a kiss on your cheek. Sound fair?" Emelaide said teasingly with wink.
"Sounds very fair." Marreck grinned as he lifted his legs over the back of the couch to launch himself on the cushions, straddling Emelaide's hips. "Surprise me." He whispered as he bent his face over Emelaide's and shut his eyes.
Nibbling lightly on his left earlobe, Emelaide whispered softly, "One." Following her whisper promptly was a tender kiss upon his left cheek. Doing the same thing to his right earlobe and cheek, Emelaide whispered, "Two." Wrapping her arms around his neck, Emelaide giggled lightly as she leaned in and placed a long, sweet kiss upon his lips. "Do you like your answer?" Emelaide murmured softly against his lips between kisses.
"I love my answer." Marreck's eyes fluttered open and his first move was to lean forward and leave a tender kiss on Emelaide's lips. "I love my answer very much." He assured his fiancee as a hand roamed over the flat that was Emelaide's stomach. "I cannot wait to meet you, darlings." He said with a wide smile.
"And they cannot wait to meet you," Emelaide murmured softly as she placed a long, sweet kiss upon Marreck's lips.
"But before we meet them, we must fill this house with furniture and decorations. I will not have them entering a home where they will feel barren and as if they are entering into an empty home that no one bothered to fill with life. That impression wouldn't look very good on our newborns, now would it," Emelaide continued teasingly with a warm smile as she placed a sweet kiss upon his lips. "Besides, I want to get these ordered placed for the nursery today, and I want to get a bed into this house by this evening," Emelaide murmured softly against his lips with a wink, "If there isn't, you're sleeping alone on the floor tonight," she added with a laugh. |
"Oh I don't think so." Marreck teased. "I may just steal the couch and you'll be on the floor. I'm far to delicate for such rough conditioins as the floor." He laughed with a wink before pressing another kiss on Emelaide's lips. "But perhaps we should pick out a bed so that I can order it." He said as he lifted a magazine and began flipping through it in search for beds.
