"Emelaide. Please talk to me." Marreck said as he stroked her cheek gently before hearing a knock on the door. "Jessi?" He called into the house. "That might be the movers with our bed, do you mind getting the door? The bedroom is the last door down the hallway, just lead them there." He called before turning back to Emelaide.
~~~ "Maybe." Ariala laughed just as Dimitrius hit a sensitive spot with his lips, making her toes curl near the faucet. "But personally I don't see much fun in wet clothes. They just stick and weigh far too much once you leave said tub. Honestly, love. I'm just sparing you the hassle." She stated matter-of-factly though a smile still tugged on her lips. |
Jessi, having been listening from the Dining Room, headed back into the Kitchen and called, "Sure thing!" Making the sound of a dish clattering into the cupboard, Jessi headed for the door shortly after and lead the young elves carrying a bed to the aforementioned bedroom.
-- "I'm fine," Emelaide managed through deep breaths, "I'm fine... Can you please bring me some jasmine tea?" -- "Well isn't that thoughtful of you," Dimitrius grinned as he nibbled lightly on her ear, "Though I suspect a hint of ulterior motive for this new rule." |
"Of course, love." Marreck said as he gave her forehead a small kiss before disappearing into the kitchen to put water on to boil and placing some jasmine leaves into a cup.
~~~ "And just what are you implying, Dimitrius?" Ariala asked as she lifted her hand to his hair, tilting her head in the process so that their lips met for a long kiss. "Surely you need a relaxing bath just as much as I do." She murmured against his lips. |
Shifting so that she was sitting, Emelaide sighed as she caressed her abdomen, her eyes still wide and blank with shock. "What am I going to do..." Emelaide whispered softly.
"Take care of yourself, and not over do it. Remain unstressed, and deal with this the best you can until your children are safely delivered," Jessi said softly from behind her as he awaited the men to emerge from the bedroom. When they did, he escorted them to the door and headed for the kitchen. ---- "Mmm, that I do. But you know very well this is far too tempting to not take advantage of. Especially when you're being quite the little seductive minx," Dimitrius murmured between tender kisses as he pulled her closer to him and softly caressed her hip and waist. "Besides, I bet you a thousand kisses you can't look into my eyes and swear there is no ulterior motive for getting me all naked and in the tub with you," Dimitrius added with a smirk between kisses. |
Marreck rubbed his fingers against his temple as he waited for the water to boil. This pregnancy was starting to stress him out more then he thought and it had only just began. When the kettle whistled, Marreck poured the water into cup so make jasmine tea before turning to return to the living room.
~~~ "I don't think I like my odds in that bet." Ariala smiled into Dimitrius's lips as she turned to face him in the tub, bringing them lower into the hot water to make love to her husband. |
Helping himself to a cup of mint tea, Jessi sighed as he leaned back against the counter, "What in the world have I fallen into..."
-- "Thank you," Emelaide said softly as she took the tea and took a long, slow sip. "I'm sorry Marreck, about all of this..." |
"Don't be sorry." Marreck shook his head as he took a seat beside Emelaide on their couch. "This isn't either of our faults. We just have to get through this pregnancy and things will get better." Marreck promised as he put an arm around Emelaide's shoulders.

"I don't think it will," Emelaide said softly as she set the tea on her lap and looked up at Marreck, "I just don't think it will. What are we going to do Marreck? What if everything is even worse once they are born. What if they have worse health than I do during this pregnancy? What if everything collapses and just falls apart?"

"You have to stop thinking like that, Em." Marreck said firmly. "If we think like that then we're never going to make it through this. Our babies are going to be beautiful and healthy and that's what we need to focus on." Marreck said, looking down at his fiancee.

"I know.." Emelaide said softly as she shifted and leaned into side, "I just can't stop thinking about it... If I do one thing wrong.. I put everything in jeopardy..." Shaking her head lightly, Emelaide sighed, "Marreck, what are we going to do? I'm never going to be able to run this household alone and without help.... How will all of the work get done? I cannot keep you here with me.. Your Kingdom needs your help with the Spring.."
"If you need me, I can help," Jessi called from the dining room, able to hear their conversation as he drank his tea. "I can do the work around the house, run errands, etc. All in return for my room and board. It is the very least I can do after all you have offered to do for me." |
"Thank you, Jessi." Marreck sighed, relieved at the man's offer. "Its going to be okay, Emelaide. We can't linger on what if's anymore. This is happening and we have to do everything we can to make this work." Marreck said as he shifted to stand. "I think we should head to bed, love." He offered.

Finishing her tea, Emelaide handed it to her fiancee with a nod. "Yes, after tonight's events a good rest will do us good. Tomorrow we may think clearly and figure out a course of action for our predicament," Emelaide said softly with a sigh as she pulled over her wheelchair and climbed into it. "I will begin making the bed," Emelaide added as she turned herself around and headed towards the bedroom.
"A stubborn one, that," Jessi said with a nod in Emelaide's direction as he made his way towards Marreck, "But I don't blame her. Don't worry, Marreck, I'll keep an eye on her. Give her some freedom, but keep her from the more tiring and strenuous tasks. She will be in good hands, I promise you," Jessi said with a warm smile as he took the teacup from Marreck's hands, "Now go help that fiancee of yours before she breaks her arms trying to make that bed. I believe it is a bit larger than she was picturing." |
"Thank you again Jessi. We owe you for this." Marreck said before following after his fiancee to help make the bed.
~~~ "I love you." Ariala grinned as she placed a kiss on Dimitrius's neck, her arms resting lazily around his waist. "But I think its bedtime now." She said, giving his neck a second kiss before climbing out of the tub and drying herself with a towel. |
Jessi simply nodded before bringing the dishes to the sink, washing them before getting comfortable on the couch in order to sleep.
Emelaide sighed as she put a pillow case on a pillow and spoke irritatedly, "Marreck.. I cannot even make a bed properly from this chair." -- Dimitrius chuckled as he stood from the tub and drained the water. Placing a long, tender kiss upon Ariala's lips, Dimitrius murmured softly, "I love you too, Ariala." Grabbing a towel, Dimitrius patted himself down before wrapping the towel around his waist and heading for the bedroom to dress into a pair of sweatpants. |
"I'm sure you'll find a way to do things, love." Marreck encouraged as he placed the sheets over the bed with tucked corners. "Maybe you should try looking at things in a positive light. Now you'll be able to learn things over again only differently." Marreck said as he finished making the bed and pulled back the covers to make room for them to sleep.
~~~ Ariala slipped into a blue nightgown before walking into the bedroom and curling up under the covers. "I should be done tomorrow night around 7. I was going to go to the house with Erre after our lessons. Did you want to come to?" Ariala asked through a yawn as she looked over from the pillow to her husband. |
"Mmm.. I suppose so.. I'll do my best," Emelaide said with a small smile as she wheeled herself over to their suitcases to get a nightgown. Finding one, Emelaide stood and changed into a cream silk and lace nightgown. Sitting back in the wheelchair, Emelaide folded the dirty clothes and placed them beside the suitcase. Wheeling herself back to the bed, Emelaide slid into the bed with a frown. "This means we cannot make love until long after the children are born... Doesn't it.." Emelaide asked softly as she looked over at Marreck.
--- Slipping into the bed beside his wife, Dimitrius nodded, "Sure, I'll meet you at the meadow with Dimeria around then. Would you like me to bring you anything?" |
"Probably." Marreck frowned as he slipped into the bed and propped himself on his elbow to look over at Emelaide. "But I still love you." Marreck said before leaning over and giving her lips a long, lingering kiss. "Let's get some rest, love." He said before falling back on the pillow and wrapping one arm around Emelaide.
~~~ "Cookies." Ariala laughed as she leaned up to give Dimitrius's lips a kiss. "I love you." She murmured before curling back down onto Dimitrius's chest, her head resting in the crook of his neck. |
"I'm going to miss that," Emelaide said with a small frown as she curled up beside Marreck, cradling her abdomen as to not upset it too much. "But, it doesn't mean I love you any less, Marreck. I just wish we weren't in this predicament," Emelaide added softly with a sigh as she buried her face into the crook of Marreck's neck. "I love you, Marreck. Goodnight."
--- "I love you too, my darling, and cookies shall be awaiting you at the meadow with a thermos of ice cold milk," Dimitrius said with a chuckle as his fingers lightly played with Ariala's hair as he drifted off to sleep. |
Early the next morning Ariala snuck her way out of bed, carefully untangling herself from Dimitrius in order not to wake him. Tiptoeing to the kitchen, Ariala put water on to boil before walking back to the bedroom to change into a simple green dress.
Glancing back at Dimitrius, Ariala smiled fondly. She hoped that the house would be finished soon so that they could finally start their own life together away from the eyes of their respective villages. When the water was boiling Ariala walked back into the kitchen and poured herself a cup of tea. It amazed her still that the Spring Elves still ogled at Dimitrius when they passed by and she still felt slightly uncomfortable strolling through the crowd in Winterglade. |
Though Dimitrius remained sleeping, Dimeria crawled out of bed to use the bathroom before shuffling into the kitchen. "Ari? Will you make me some blueberry waffles and cut up strawberries?"

"Morning, Dimeria." Ariala grinned as she set down her tea. "I think I have some time to make you breakfast." She said as she mixed together some pancake batter. "Will you get me the berries out of the ice box for me?" She asked as she placed a flat pan on the stove to make the pancakes in.

Nodding, Dimeria rubbed her eyes as she shuffled to the ice box. Standing on her toes, Dimeria reached for the blueberries and strawberries. Grabbing their baskets, Dimeria carried them over to Ariala and set them on the counter. Still standing on her toes, Dimeria watched Ariala as her fingertips grasped the edge of the counter, holding her in place so she didn't lose balance.

"Do you want to help?" Ariala asked as she mixed the blue berries into the pancake batter. "Do you want to flip the pancakes when they're ready?" She asked after placing small ladles of the mix into the hot pan.

Dimeria nodded excitedly with a grin on her face, "You really don't mind Ariala?"

"No." Ariala grinned as she picked up Dimeria and set her on the counter beside the pan. "I think you'll make an excellent pancake flipper." She said as she handed the younger elf a spatula. "Just be very careful not to touch the pan okay?" She said cautiously, adjusting the younger elf a bit to put distance between the hot stove and Dimeria's little body.
