"Well that's an excellent plan, love. But I think that Jessi knows as well as I do that its difficult to hold a grudge against a beautiful woman." Marreck smiled before taking a few more bites.

"Here here," Jessi said with a laugh, "It is true. A beautiful woman is hard to resist and stay angry with for very long. Especially when that beautiful woman is a great cook and knows how to push all the right buttons to make a man's heart melt."
Emelaide blushed as she ate her dinner, "You two are terrible, you know that?" |
"And here I thought you loved me." Marreck smiled teasingly at Emelaide, giving her a wink. "Ah, but Jessi." Marreck said, turning back to the elf. "When I spoke to Ariala she said that if you talk to the head of construction they'll find you a spot on the house."

"Is Ariala Dimitrius' wife?" Jessi asked, a bit confused.
"Yes," Emelaide said with a laugh before turning to Marreck, "Moe finally found Dimitrius at Cindalina's and he said he'd stop by to meet Jessi tomorrow and take him over to the site. What say you and I do a little house planning while they're gone tomorrow and get some more furniture ordered?" |
"That sounds like an excellent plan, love." Marreck smiled, unsure if he should mention Ariala and Dimitrius' fight then decided it wasn't his place to tell about it.

"Good. Then tonight we shall relax and play cards in bed, since it's far comfier than the couch," Emelaide said with a grin, "If you're not too afraid I'll beat you."
Jessi chuckled at the couple, "Well, while you two are at each others throats over Go Fish, I think I'll take a walk around town and try to familiarize myself with the neighborhood. It seems I'll be staying awhile." |
"That sounds like a plan. But I think it'll be you who loses." Marreck laughed before turning to Jessi. "That's probably a good idea. Just be careful not to get lost." He warned.

"Don't worry -- if I lose my way I'll follow the smell of apple pie," Jessi said with a grin before excusing himself to take care of the pie and wash his dishes. "I'll see you in the morning, good night," Jessi said with a warm smile before grabbing his jacket and heading out into the Winterglade evening.
"I guess that means we have the house to ourselves," Emelaide said with a warm smile as she finished her dinner and took a sip of her water. |
"It seems that way." Marreck smiled as he finished his own dinner. "Do you know where the cards are, love?" He asked as he stood and began to pick up both of their dishes to bring to the sink and wash.

"I put then in the living room in the game cabinet," Emelaide said with a nod before finishing her water and wheeling herself over to the living room. "Can you make some of that juice I love?" Emelaide called as she took the cards out of the cabinet and put them on her lap. "I'll meet you in the bedroom," Emelaide added as she headed for the bedroom to get into bed, doing her best to avoid discomfort in her abdomen.

"Of course, love." Marreck called back as he finished cleaning up their meal and crushed some berries into a clean glass for Emelaide. Once he was finished, Marreck made his way to the bedroom and sat beside her on the bed, handing her the glass of juice. "What game are we playing?"

"Hmmm, I've narrowed it down between Go Fish, War, and Baccarat," Emelaide said with a nod as she set the juice on the sand and continued to shuffle the cards. "Which game would you prefer to lose at?" Emelaide added with a teasing smirk.

"I think I fancy beating you at War." Marreck laughed as he leaned back some, his hands behind to support him. "But don't worry, I'll let you win a few times if you get to upset." He teased.

Emelaide laughed as she dealt the cards and took a sip of her juice. "I think you shall be the one who gets upset," Emelaide added with a grin. After another sip of juice, Emelaide turned over her first card, a seven. "Marreck? What do you think of Jessi?"

"I think he's nice enough. A bit shy but that's understandable." Marreck said. "Why?" He asked, suddenly a bit concerned. "Did he do something that I should know about?"

Emelaide shook her head quickly as she soothed her fiancee, "No! No, nothing like that! I've just grown fond of him is all! He reminds me of a little deer who's lost it's way. He's more like a little brother type than someone who is older than I am, you know? I just feel for him.. Even if he doesn't get the job with Dimitrius, I think we should still help him. He's been very kind to me, and to us. I feel the need to help him...
"Besides, with him around it takes a lot of the stress off of you in regards to me. He's been very understanding and helpful when you are gone, and I think now that your lessons are sure to piling up, he'll be able to help me around the house when you are unable to. I was merely asking if you liked him due to wanting to hear your thoughts about my proposal," Emelaide finished as she blushed a deep scarlet, "I did not mean for you to get the impression he had done something dishonorable...." |
"Sorry, Em." Marreck shook his head with a laugh. "I guess I'm getting a bit overprotective." He grinned sheepishly. "I agree you with you though about taking him in. He's been very kind to us and I don't see any reason why he wouldn't get the job working on Dimitrius' and Ariala's house. I've become quite fond of him as well." Marreck agreed.

"I'm glad," Emelaide said happily as she won a hand, "I think having him around will be fun. It shall be nice to have someone around to talk to when you are gone. Though I must admit, I do not like the thought of you being gone all the time again," Emelaide added sadly with a small smile. "I shall miss your juice," Emelaide added with a wink as she took a sip from her glass.

"Ah well at least there's one thing you'll miss of me. Better then nothing I suppose." Marreck laughed. "I'll miss you to Em but once my magic is stronger I'll be able to grow us some new foods instead of buying them." He reminded her as he continued playing cards, hoping he'd win the next hand.

"Mmm, that is true. That will save us a great deal of silver and ice when then twins are born, that is for sure," Emelaide added with a nod, "But it does not save me from becoming jealous. You get to progress while I am stuck and am unable to do a thing on my own."
Playing another card, drawing a tie this time and causing them to battle to see who wins, Emelaide continued as she played the cards, "On that subject, however, we shall have to build an addition to this house and create a small room with a glass roof in order for your plants to grow here. Could you talk to a contractor sometime this week and see if it's possible with our property lines and available space? Then we can plant our fig tree into proper soil," Emelaide finished with a happy grin. |
Marreck's face lit up at the mention of adding a room for plants. "I think that's an incredible idea, love." He nodded enouragingly. "I can speak to some of the construction elves tomorrow. I'd love to grow some plants here. I could grow some pumpkins and squash and eggplant and berries of every type." Marreck rambled happily as he imagine the new room in his mind.

"Seeing you light up over such a small tree made me think of it. I know keeping you here away from life is hurting you terribly... I clearly saw that from our fight this afternoon," Emelaide said softly with a blush, "I hate having to keep you from it, so I thought a room where you can grow to your heart's content would be a perfect addition and would bring something you love into a Kingdom full of ice and slumber. I know it is heaven to me, but it is not so for you. Therefore, I wish for you to be happier while here, seeing as how we shall be here for a good while," Emelaide finished with a warm smile as she leaned over and placed a long, tender kiss upon Marreck's lips.
"I do not like us fighting.. and if growth and life seem to be one of our biggest quarrels, then I wish to remedy that and make everything better for the both of us," Emelaide explained with a warm smile between soft kisses. "If it makes you happy, then it makes me happy as well because I love seeing you happy. It is quite adorable seeing you light up over a small bit of greenery," Emelaide added softly with a teasing grin. |
Marreck couldn't help but light up again as he leaned forward and captured Emelaide's lips in a kiss. "You haven't the slightest idea how very excited I am about this green room." He whispered between kisses, his tongue daringly crossing through Emelaide's lips. "I love you. So much." Marreck smiled when he'd come up for air.

"I love you too," Emelaide murmured as she put her cards to the side and climbed across the bed to sit in Marreck's lap. Wrapping her arms around his neck, Emelaide placed long, sweet kisses upon his lips with a warm smile. "And I very much know how excited you are about this new addition. I can see it in your eyes and in the way you light up at just the mention of green," Emelaide said softly between kisses. "You have no idea how happy it makes me to see you this happy," Emelaide added with one last kiss before resting her forehead against his.

"I think I can imagine." Marreck murmured as he brushed a piece of hair behind Emelaide's hair while stretching up to give her lips another kiss. "I love you." He whispered as he pulled on Emelaide's hips, bringing her closer to him as his tongue danced to meet her's.
