"I guess I should've gotten your aunt's coat instead of this sweater after all." Ariala said, attempting a joke. She curled her feet under her and rested her head to the side. "Perhaps you'd like to warm me up?" She said with a sly grin.

~-~-~

"I'm afraid my talents aren't quite as powerful in a violent sense." Marreck said, laughing inside at fate's twisted sense of humor. "I can grow plants." He said, demonstrating by growing a tree beside them. "Of course I could always grow vines to bind with." He said, shrugging.

"But I fail to see how this will be helpful. Killing them certainly won't solve the problem." Marreck said.

Emma Corrin 05-10-2009 10:03 PM

Dimitrius smiled as gently caressed her cheek, "Does this mean you wish for me to sit with you, love?"

Nodding, he lifted her head and sat down on the couch, gently placing her head in his lap, "Come, give me your hands, I'll warm them while the fire heats your feet."

-----------

Emelaide couldn't help but laugh, "Who ever said anything about killing them? All we must do is place Ariala and I in grave danger. Surely Dimitrius will see whom he loves the most when he rescues me, and that will leave poor little Ariala brokenhearted and stranded; which is where you come in to save the day - which gets me Dimtrius, and you Ariala. If we work together, we're sure to make it work."

say-i-love-you 05-10-2009 10:16 PM

Ariala reached for Dimitrius' hands and rubbed her thumb along his own affectionately. "I love you." She said, gazing into the fire. "I wish this drama would stop." She said, more to herself then to Dimitrius.

~-~-~

Marreck had to keep himself from laughing out loud. This girl was certainly confident. "That's your grand plan?" He asked in disbelief. "You do realize that if he chooses Ariala their love will only grow stronger?" He asked.

Emma Corrin 05-10-2009 10:30 PM

Dimitrius cupped his hands around her and brought them to his lips, blowing gentle hot air onto them to warm them, murmuring softly, "As do I, my love, as do I. I promise you, Emelaide will pay for this.. I'll see to it.."

----

Scowling, the temperature around Marreck drastically decreasing as Emelaide's scowl deepend. "And you have a better idea you useless creature?! Tell me then, I'm... all... ears.." she growled through gritted teeth, her temper getting the best of her as always.

say-i-love-you 05-10-2009 10:36 PM

"Dimitrius, that will only make things worse." Ariala said, her toes warming up thanks to the fire. "Her jealousy will fade eventually." She said then attempted to stand despite the mountain of blankets weighing her down. "You're going to be late for the lecture." She said.

~-~-~

Marreck looked at the Winter Elf's face which was twisted with anger and rolled his eyes. "You know you're not all that attractive when you scowl." He said with a soft laugh. "All we have to do is have Ariala catch you and Dimitrius in a compromising postion. She cries on my shoulder and tells me how right I was about how they shouldn't be together. Dimitrius mourns over his loss and you pretend to care and win back his love. Simple."

Emma Corrin 05-10-2009 10:44 PM

Dimitrius immediately stopped her movements, causing her to lay back down. Resuming the warming of his hands, Dimitrius shook his head, "This is more important. They can practice their spells without me, I was simply there to help guide them. I will simply extend the lesson tomorrow, no harm will come of it. They have three seasons to learn their magic, I only have one chance with you, and I will not run off and have you freeze to death when I can prevent it."

------

Emelaide couldn't help but chuckle softly as her scowl faded and the temperature began to rise around Marreck, "Forgive me. Today has not been a very good day."

Nodding, she smiled, "We shall try your plan. What sort of 'compromising position' did you have in mind?"

say-i-love-you 05-10-2009 10:51 PM

"Dimitrius." Ariala said, rolling her eyes. "I'm warmer and your aunt's house will be plenty warm. I don't want you to have to change your plans because of me." She said, looking up at him and tried again to move from under the blankets.

~-~-~

"I'm sure you've some kind of substance to help Dimitrius not be as focused. Meet him as a peace offering and cry your little heart out about how you know you should be happy for him and how you just wish you could let go of your jealousy. Then when he's in la-la land you get yourself set up to have Ariala find you and say something seductive to catch her attention. I'll be walking with her, feeding her the same story, and she won't be able to resist knowing what's happening. We find you, she cries, and we're good." He said, surprising himself how calm he was.

Emma Corrin 05-10-2009 11:02 PM

Sighing, Dimitrius allowed her to move and stood up to put the fireplace out, "Fine, you win. Wrap yourself in two of the blankets and I'll take you to my Aunt's house. I'll return as soon as I can, and if you're not improved I'm going to have a few words with Emelaide."

--------

Emelaide nodded as she plotted, "Hmm, this could work. I'll walk with him through the woods, cry a bit, do as you say, trip and fall into him, making sure my lips press against his, making it look like we're passionately kissing, and all you'll have to do is walk by. I'll take him from his practice tomorrow, that way it will seem like he lied to Ariala about there being practice. Then after the kiss, I'll shush him before he can say anything and say something that will cause Ariala to feel as if we're making up. Then she'll be putty in your hands while I have Dimitrius."

Smiling at Marreck, she couldn't help but giggle due to her giddiness, "This might actually work Marreck! I may finally have my beloved Dimitrius back!" Twirling in her happiness, she nearly ran into Marreck. Falling against him, she blushed and immediately stepped back, "Sorry, I got a little carried away."

Holding out her hand, she looked up at him, "We'll meet here with our respective partners tomorrow afternoon when the sun is beginning to lower in the sky. Is that an alright time for you?"

say-i-love-you 05-10-2009 11:09 PM

"So protective." Ariala mumbled but obliged. "I'll be fine." She said, taking his hand and pulling him down for a small but passionate kiss. Then she turned away, pulling him by the hand, still wrapped in her blankets.

~-~-~

"Its fine." Marreck mumbled, blushing slightly. "Til tomorrow?" He asked.

Emma Corrin 05-10-2009 11:17 PM

Sighing, Dimitrius bent down, "Come on, we need to get you to a fire. The spells slowly wearing off, but it's improving as long as we keep you by the fireplace. Climb on my back, it'll be faster this way."

--------

Shaking his hand to 'seal the deal', Emelaide nodded, "'til tomorrow."

say-i-love-you 05-10-2009 11:23 PM

Ariala climbed onto Dimitrius' back somewhat clumsy due to the blankets. "Most unladylike." She mumbled under her breath as the blankets hung on her awkwardly.

~-~-~

Marreck smiled at her touch the rebuked himself, pulling away from her. He nodded politley before taking off into the forest towards Elimlee.

This is going to work... Marreck thought as he ran. This has to work... Instantly his face lit into a smile as he thought of Ariala being in his arms, kissing him passionately, and saying his name.

Emma Corrin 05-10-2009 11:31 PM

Dimitrius rolled his eyes as he opened the door and stepped out, shutting it behind them, "Ladylike-schmadylike. I'd rather you have one embarrassing moment than die from your blood freezing. Besides, everyone is inside for lunch, no one is on the streets, you're fine."

Shifting the blankets so they were wrapped securely, he grabbed ahold of her legs and darted off to his Aunt's cottage.

------

Giggling, Emelaide twirled in and out of the ice covered trees, feeling very ecstatic at the thought of reverting back to the way things were between she and Dimitrius.

say-i-love-you 05-10-2009 11:38 PM

Ariala rolled her eyes and sat silently on his back. She saw Cindalina's house coming into view and sighed with relief at the idea of a warm fire.

~-~-~

Marreck all but danced from relief as he returned to Elimlee.

"Marreck?" Erreminette asked. "Why are you so happy?"

Emma Corrin 05-11-2009 12:02 AM

Setting her down on the doorstep, he placed a gentle kiss on her cheek, "Keep by the fire until the spell's completely wore off. I'll see you after practice. I love you, Ari," he added with a smile as he caressed her cheek and placed a tender kiss upon her forehead.

-------------

Emelaide's nerves began to show as she entered the village. Sighing, her thoughts turning to everything that could possibly go wrong the next following day, Emelaide headed for the Masters' College Villa to work with the Weather Creators and practice her Temperature Management.

say-i-love-you 05-11-2009 12:45 AM

"I love you to." She said, holding his hand tenderly before diappearing into the cottage.

"Cindalina?" She called to the empty cottage.

~-~-~

"Nothing." Marreck said, his nerves tingling.

Erreminette looked at him curiously. "Where's Ariala?" She asked.

"Off with her Winter Elf I'd guess." Marreck said, his happy mood darkened.

"Oh, Marreck." Erreminette said, giving him a small hug. "No matter how wrong about Ariala being with Dimitrius you are I hate to see you unhappy." She said, still holding him in a hug.

"I hate them being together." He murmured into her shoulder, wrapping his arms to return his hug.

"I know." Erreminette said with a tone a parent would soothe their child with.

Emma Corrin 05-11-2009 01:00 AM

Dimitrius sighed as he headed off towards the Masters' College Villa Courtyard for the practice session.

---------

Cindalina smiled as she emerged from the kitchen, "Good afternoon Ar- Ariala! What on earth has happened to you?"

Rushing over to her, Cindalina led her to the fireplace and added more logs to the fire, "Child, why are you shivering so much? Where's Dimitrius? What happened?"

---------

Emelaide's eyes went wide as she saw Dimitrius only a foot ahead of her. Lowering her head, she quickly rushed by him, hoping he didn't notice her.

Dimitrius, eyed the young girl rushing past him, and recognized her to be Emelaide. Rushing after her, he placed his hand on her arm to slow her down, "Em, wait a minute. We need to talk."

say-i-love-you 05-11-2009 01:11 AM

"Oh." Ariala said, shrugging off the blankets and shaking the snow out of her hair. "Its a bit colder here then I remembered." She said, not wanting to worry the elf with her sob story.

~-~-~

Marreck let a single tear fall and hit Erreminette's shoulder. "I love her." He whispered to his best friend.

"I know, Marreck." She said.

Erreminette remembered when they were young and both Marreck and Ariala were in love with each other. If only Ariala's insecurities hadn't made her move on while Marreck was so obviously in love with her. Erreminette would give anything to go back to that time, to change things.

"Come upstairs for some tea." Erreminette soothed.

Emma Corrin 05-11-2009 01:21 AM

Cindalina sighed, relief obviously showing on her face, "You had me worried sick, child. Your lips are nearly turning blue! Come, sit closer to the fire and keep those blankets on your lap. I'll be sure to have a word with that Dimitrius when he comes. He shouldn't have let you out of Elimlee with such little clothing on! Hold on just a moment, child, I'll get you a cup of hot tea."

With that, she was off to the kitchen once more to fetch a pot of tea.

----------------

Emelaide blushed and released her arm, "Don't say it, Dimitrius. I know what you're thinking."

Dimitrius sighed as he fell into step with her, "Aye? What's that, Em?"

"That I'm a jealous bitch who acted horribly and wrongly used her magic to purposefully harm another."

"Well, yes actually."

"It wasn't my fault. I simply saw you two together and my magic acted on it's own accord."

"Em, you've got to let this go. It isn't fair to your new.. boyfriend."

Emelaide sighed, "I know, it's just... he's not you.. but don't worry, I've moved on. Come, let's go teach the younger students how it's done," she added with a smile as she took his hand and pulled him in the direction of the Courtyard.

say-i-love-you 05-11-2009 01:28 AM

"Cindalina." Ariala called, her voice guilty. "It wasn't Dimitrius' fault. Emelaide saw us and well she was angry and well I'm sure you can guess the rest." She said, staring at her feet.

~-~-~

"Erre." Marreck said, straring into his tea. "Why doesn't she love me?"

"Oh, Marreck." Erreminette said, her voice layered with saddness. "Its not your fault. I think you should move on from her. There are plenty of other elves who are more then willing to be with you. Give one of them a chance." Then an idea came to Erreminette. "I know! Jadea! You could take her for a walk tomorrow night, you know she loves the stars."

"Not tomorrow night." Marreck said quickly, earning a curious look from Erreminette.

Emma Corrin 05-11-2009 01:33 AM

Shaking her head as she entered carrying a pot of tea, a dish of honey, a jar of cream, a small pitcher of milk, and a dish of sugar, "That Emelaide, she's going to get someone killed one of these days with that temper of hers. I knew it was trouble from the beginning for her to continue her studies when her magic was that intuitive to her emotions. Are you alright child? Is the spell wearing off?"

------------

During the practice, Dimitrius and Emelaide didn't have another chance to speak, which was perfect for Emelaide, but annoyed Dimitrius.

After the practice was finished, Emelaide darted as fast as she could away from the Courtyard and headed for the woods.

Dimitrius sighed, knowing it would be wrong of him to follow her, but felt he didn't have a choice. He needed to talk to her about Ariala and set things straight once and for all.

say-i-love-you 05-11-2009 01:42 AM

"Oh, I'm fine." Ariala said. "Really, I feel much warmer then before." She poured a cup of tea and added a heaping spoonful of suger. "I just hate the drama that my relationship with Dimitrius is having. Its not fair to him."

~-~-~

"Its just that. I need some time." Marreck said in an attempt to recover. "I love Ariala and to jump right into a date with Jaeda seems completely unfair. The last thing I need is more girl troubles." He said, though Erreminette was still wary.

"You're right." Erreminette said. "Take your time. And know that I'm always here." She said, standing to give Marreck another warm hug.

"Thank you Erre. You know you're awesome, right?" He said in her ear, then stepped away from the hug.

"That's what they tell me." She said with a smile before Marreck left.

Emma Corrin 05-11-2009 02:00 AM

Cindalina waved it off with a sigh as she poured herself a cup of tea, "Nonsense. You know very well he loves you and this is nothing for him! You two deserve to be together, and Emelaide is simply just going to have to deal with that. I'm sure Dimitrius will straighten everything out and you'll have no trouble from her in the future," she added with a smile as she poured a bit of honey and cream into her tea.

------------

"Emelaide, wait!" Dimitrius called out as he ran after her through the forest, "You're making this rather difficult! Can't you just stop and talk to me?"

Slowing down, Emelaide leaned against a tree and stopped to catch her breath, "Alright, alright. What is it Dimitrius?"

Dimitrius bent over as he stopped just in front of her and caught his breath, "It's about Ariala."

Rolling her eyes, Emelaide sat down on the root of the tree and sighed, "What."

Sitting beside her, Dimitrius sighed, "Look, I know you hate her, but it's not her you should hate; it's me. I don't appreciate you trying to kill her by freezing her blood. You have no reason to take out our break-up on her."

Emelaide sighed, "I know.. but.. look, I'd better go.. I... I'm really sorry.. It won't happen again, I promise."

Standing up she started walking deeper into the woods. Dimitrius quickly stood up and caught her hand before she could get to far and turned her towards him, "Emelaide, listen to me. Can't you try and be happy for us? I mean, you have a new boyfriend, surely you've moved on."

Emelaide shook her head, "No. We're simply together because we both thought it would make the one we love jealous. It's working on his part, but I'm afraid it didn't accomplish anything on mine."

Dimitrius sighed as he pulled her in for a hug, "Look, I-"

"You don't have to say anything," Emelaide interrupted as she pulled out of his grasp, true tears filling her eyes, "I know I was wrong, I know I need to move on. It's just hard, okay? I've loved you for so long, it's hard to imagine life without you. Just give me time, I'll be alright. And don't worry, I won't do anything to Ariala, I promise. I'll try to keep my emotions in check when I see her, you have my word. Let's, let's just let it go okay?"

Before he could respond, Emelaide ran as fast as she could deep into the woods. Dimtrius simply sighed and turned back towards the village, knowing she needed to be alone for awhile before they could resume their discussion, for he hadn't said all that he wanted to say to her.

say-i-love-you 05-11-2009 02:08 AM

"It'll work itself out." Ariala said, gazing into the fire.

Emma Corrin 05-11-2009 02:15 AM

Cindalina nodded in agreement, "Of course it will child, don't you worry about a thing. Ah, here's Dimitrius. We're in here, Trius dear!"

In moments, Dimitrius was in the living room, his hair and shoulders speckled with snow. Taking of his jacket, he sat beside his Aunt, "Good evening Aunt Lina. How are you doing, Ariala?"

say-i-love-you 05-11-2009 02:18 AM

"I'm fine." She said, sipping her tea. "I'm much warmer now."
