"Alright, love. I could use some more clothes considering I plan on spending more time here in Winterglade." Marreck said.
"And thank you, I'd love my hair dry." Ariala said. "But its long and kind of thick because of my curls so it generally takes longer to dry." She said, bringing her blond curls over her shoulder and letting them fall to her waist. "I know I should cut it but I cry whenever someone is ready to. I can't bear to lose it." She said with a smile as Marreck began to work his way out of the blankets. |
Pulling Marreck back down to place a tender kiss upon his lips, Emelaide smiled as she let her magic go to work on Ariala's hair, drying it in the matter of minutes without burning a strand or her scalp, "I'll see you when you get back."
Smiling up at Ariala as she leaned back in her bed, getting comfy again so she could go back to sleep, Emelaide chuckled softly, "You underestimate me, Ariala. Your hair is not a hard task for my magic, I promise you. It should be fine by now, let me know if it needs to dry more. As for your length, don't cut it. I like it the way it is, it suits you." Dimitrius chuckled softly as he placed a kiss upon Ariala's cheek and whispered, "I agree with her." Smiling at Emelaide, Dimitrius winked as he spoke, "Are you going to join us at Auntie's for brunch? She's been asking about you." Emelaide groaned as she covered her face with a pillow as she spoke, "I'll see her at dinner. I'm too sleepy to get up this early. I haven't had to wake up early in awhile, so I'm getting used to sleeping in again. Wake me for dinner though?" Dimitrius laughed, "I thought as much, I'll wake you." Turning to Ariala he smiled, "Are you ready to go speak with your Royals and then pick up Erreminette, love?" |
Ariala patted her now dry hair in disbelief. "Cool." She murmured to herself. "Oh, yes. I'm ready." She said, snapping back to reality at Dimitrius's words. "Thank you." She said, smiling at Emelaide.
Marreck smiled at Emelaide's behavior. Taking the pillow from her face, Marreck bent to give her a kiss on the forehead. "Sleep well." He whispered against her skin before going over to Ariala and Dimitrius, closer to Ariala rather then Dimitrius. "To Elimlee then?" He asked. |
Emelaide smiled as she turned over and cuddled the warm blankets that Marreck had slept in as she got situated to return back to sleep, "No problem, Ariala. Anytime you need it, let me know."
Dimitrius nodded, "Aye, to Elimlee. I'll leave you all at the village and head to the Palace while you are getting situated, is that alright?" |
Ariala gave Dimitrius a quizzical look as she ushered the two male elves out of the cottage so that Emelaide could rest. "I thought we were going to the Palace together." She said, putting her hand in his.
Marreck stood on Ariala's other side to simply walk along as if he was not even there and leave the couple to themselves. |
Dimitrius smiled as he brought her hand to his lips, "Aye, we'll wait until you arrive before we discuss anything to do with our marriage, I promise you. I don't wish to get in the way while you're speaking with Erreminette and finding clothes for her. On the other hand, it is also best for me to go first so I may speak with them alone about my father and the ... circumstances," Dimitrius finished hesitantly, unsure how much information to divulge around Marreck. After all, Ariala has yet to tell Marreck that Dimitrius was Royalty, and Dimitrius wasn't about ready to say so without being directly asked.
|
"But we'll go together to ask permission?" Ariala asked, not wanting to have Dimitrius go for her and give the Lord the impression that she was leaving everything to him while she preened over colors and dresses.
Marreck smirked slightly after noting Ariala's expression which looked like she had eaten something sour. If there was one thing Dimitrius should know it was that Ariala hated to feel as if she wasn't included. |
Dimitrius smiled as he nodded, "Yes, my love, when it comes to be known the nature of my visit, I will request we wait for you. I've met your Royal Family before, I am on good terms with them. They will understand when I explain to them the situation of you being a few moments late. I simply need to explain my father's position on our marriage and explain to him that although he is against it, the rest of the Royal Family is for it. I do not wish you to hear the details in which we discuss in regards to my father, you do not need to know of his wretched behavior."
|
Ariala sighed, hardly audible. She hated not knowing of Dimitrius's family. "You're quiet." She said, looking up at Marreck who had yet to say a word.
"Not to much to say." He said with a smile, finally glad he could love Ariala like he should. As a sister. "I'm not involved in the wedding. I'll only be there to clap and congratulate. And for the food of course." He added with a wink, earning a laugh from Ariala and knowing she'd know what the joke. "Like the Retina family when we were only 40." Ariala giggled, turning to Dimitrius to fill him in. "We attended the wedding and we were so young that we thought it'd be funny to hide under the food table. We ate like royalty that night." She laughed, remembering how sick the Erreminette, Marreck and herself had felt the next day. "I don't know if Erreminette's stomach has ever been the same." Marreck added, laughing. |
Dimitrius chuckled, "That sounds like you. I myself have attended weddings only as a Royal, so we weren't allowed to do such things, having to stay on the throne at the reception and all that. I'm looking forward to our wedding, I'll be able to show my father was a true husband acts like towards his wife as I sweep you off your feet and dance with you the entire evening," he added as he placed a gentle kiss upon Ariala's head as he whispered softly, "And maybe then my mother will see how a wife is supposed to feel when with her husband and learn that she should divorce my father and marry the one man who will love her above all else, the man my father took her from."
|
"Oh a love story. I love love stories. Especially when the girl realizes who she truly loves and they live a happily ever after." Ariala gushed. "I'm afraid I'm not a great dancer though. i can do a basic waltz and such but nothing complicated."
"You're forgetting ballet." Marreck added, remembering Ariala as a ballet dancer. "You used to be wonderful at it but then you just stopped out of nowhere." He said, causing a blush to raise to her cheeks. "Mrs. Grenti was heartbroken that you wouldn't dance at her wedding." He said. "Don't be silly. I was never good." Ariala said quickly, her words as cold as the winter around them, hoping that the subject would be dropped. |
Dimitrius, noticing her tone, looked at her with an odd expression, yet leaving the subject untouched, "Ah, well, you must dance with me at our wedding, love. Not only that, but you must dance with your father as well while I dance with my mother and sister, 'tis tradition. Promise me you'll dance with me? Even if it is just once?"
|
"You can have any dance you wish." Ariala smiled. "Though I will have to spare one for Marreck, here. I can't leave my soul brother without a dance." She said as she nudged Marreck's side lightly.
"You know I'm ticklish there." Marreck laughed, moving away from her hand. "Baby." Ariala teased. |
Dimitrius chuckled, "Of course, love, I wouldn't dream of monopolizing you for the entire night. I have the rest of your life to do that," he teased in a low whisper as he tenderly placed a kiss upon her neck as they neared the village.
|
Ariala smiled up at Dimitrius and decided that having him to monopolize her for the rest sounded like a wonderful idea.
"I'll catch up with you two afterwards." Marreck said before running off to Erreminette's house, wanting to leave the couple to themselves. Ariala shed her coat quickly after Marreck had gone, the heat getting to her under her clothing. Using her free hand, Ariala took Dimitrius by the back of his neck and pulled him towards her for a passionate kiss. "I'll see you at Erreminette's house?" She asked when she finally pulled away from Dimitrius's lips. |
Dimitrius shook his head with a smile, "Remember, love? You're meeting me at the Palace." He chuckled as he pulled her close to him, after he too shed his jacket, and placed a tender kiss upon her lips, leaving a trail of kisses down her neck until he reached her shoulder. Leaning back he smiled and took her jacket, draping both over his arm before holding her close once more, "Would you like me to wait for you instead? I'm afraid you won't like the conversation the Royals and I must have before we discuss our wedding, though."
|
"I'll wait outside of the Palace after I visit Erre." Ariala said, her head slightly fuzzy from his kisses. "I love you." She said, reaching up to kiss him once more before turning to leave.
~-~-~ "Marreck!" Erreminette said, seeing him on her doorstep and gave him a large hug. "I haven't seen you since what happened in the meadow. Are you alright? What happened?" She asked, moving him towards the table and almost shoving him into a chair. "We're better, Erre." Marreck smiled. "You shouldn't worry so much." "You make it so hard not to." Erreminette teased. |
"I love you too. And I promise, no wedding talk until you arrive," Dimitrius called after her before darting off at a run towards the Elimlee Palace.
|
"Ariala!" Erreminette said, wrapping her best friend into a hug.
"Erre!" Ariala laughed, hugging her best friend. "I have an important question to ask you. Be my bridesmaid?" "Of course." Erreminette said, hugging her harder. "I think she's going to have to able to breathe to walk down the aisle." Marreck laughed at his two friends. |
Reaching the Palace, Dimitrius nodded at the guards, "Dimitrius Cordei, Prince of Winterglade. I've come to speak to their Majesties on a personal matter."
The guards talked amongst themselves before allowing Dimitrius to enter the Palace,a guard escorting him to the receiving area. When Dimitrius got there, however, a surprise awaited him - his Father. With that wretched surprise, came his darling Mother, who was most happy to see her son. |
"Will you come back to Winterglade with us?" Ariala asked. "I was hoping that you and Cindalina both can help with wedding plans and house plans." Ariala smiled.
"Of course I'll help but I may need to borrow some of your clothes to go there." Erreminette said. "Wonderful!" Ariala said, clapping her hands together. "We're planning on getting married in the meadow at the border. And we've decided the house will go there as well, that way we're half way between each Kingdom." "That sounds perfect. Now we just have to plan all of it." Erreminette laughed, the two having almost forgotten Marreck who still remained at the table. |
Dimitrius' body stiffened as he saw his father, his manner turning cold. As his mother rushed over to him with Dimeria right in town, Dimitrius whispered furiously, "What is that creature doing here. He better not be trying to stop my wedding, Mother, or I'll kill him myself."
Elinadette hushed her son as she gave him a hug and whispered, "Nonsense. Cindalina got him to see reason I expect, and he's now working out the details with the Royals of Elimlee. He is trying to make amends, I believe." Placing a kiss on his mother's cheek, Dimitrius sighed, "I do not think so, but we shall see." Dimeria gently tugged on her brother's pant-leg as she looked up at him, her eyes glistening from being forgotten. Dimitrius smiled as he swooped down and picked up his sister, "And how are you, my little Dimeria?" "Hot," Dimeria whispered as she clung to Dimitrius. Dimitrius chuckled, "You'll get used to it, I promise. How about you and I go for a walk while the Kings and Queens talk, hm?" Dimeria eagerly nodded as she wrapped her arms around her brother's neck and rested her head against his neck. Dimitrius chuckled, "I'll be back later with, Ariala. I assume we are not needed at this moment. Please excuse us." |
Marreck moved to the sink, forgotten by the two who were discussing color schemes and plans for the house. "Don't you have to meet Dimitrius?" He asked Ariala.
"Oh, you're right." Ariala gushed. "Come on Erre." She said. "I'll meet you at the bottom of the rope ladder." Erreminette said, not forgetting Marreck who stood somewhat sadly by the window. "Alright. Bye Marreck. Erre." Ariala said before leaving the house quickly. "What's wrong Marreck?" Erreminette asked as she walked over to him, putting her hand on his arm. |
Dimitrius smiled as he walked along with Dimeria through the courtyard, heading back towards Ariala's house. "We'll see if Ari has an old dress you can wear while here, Mother should have known better than to have dressed you in Winterglade clothing when coming here."
Dimeria nodded, the heat causing her to become very drowsy as Dimitrius carried her. |
Ariala moved across the bridges as she carefully avoiding the faulty steps, something one could only learn with experience. She moved to her cottage to gather some Winterglade clothes for her and Erreminette.
Ariala moved to her bedroom, digging through the drawers to find the Winterglade clothes when she stood abruptly and found herself looking into a mirror. Whoa... Ariala thought as she saw her hair in the mirror, strands flying wistfully in different directions. Grabbing a brush, Ariala began to run it through her hair and tamed the wild hair that framed her face. |
