His mood cloudy once more, he shifted somewhat angrily as he stood there, "You think I could do such a thing? You honestly think I could be that despicable and dishonorable as to court two women at once? Never. Simple as that. Sure, I won't lie to you, I do still have feelings for Emelaide. Feelings like that do not fade completely. However, what I feel for her is only friendship. What I feel for you is love; the love of long lost lovers finally meeting as being apart for many centuries. I feel as if I've finally found someone to whom I can belong completely."
Looking away, hurt written in his eyes and face, he sighed, "I thought you... I thought you might have felt something of the same.." |
"Of course I feel the same!" Ariala said, moving hesitantly towards him. "I just let Marreck get to me. He's always known just the right thing to say to play at my insecurities. I didn't mean to offend you. I just want to be with you..." She said quietly.
|
Dimitrius looked over at Ariala. Upon seeing her face, the anger and hurt melted from his body with a sigh. Stepping towards her, he pulled her close, wrapping his arms around her, "I'm sorry, Ariala. I just.. when you said.. when you thought I would have betrayed your trust and lied to you I.."
Resting his cheek on her blonde hair, he could smell the sweet, earthy aroma emanating from her body, and he sighed with relief, "Even though we've only known each other a few days, please know and remember that I mean it when I say I love you. I've never felt this way about anyone in my entire one-hundred-twenty-six-years in this world, nor do I believe I ever shall again. I don't expect you to feel the same, nor do I want you to say you do when you're not even sure yourself. Just know that I'm not going anywhere unless you wish it. We'll find some way to make it work. I mean, our villages are but an hour's walk from each other, surely we can see each other whenever we please if you wish it." |
"Mmhmm." Ariala murmured, melting into Dimitrius' frame. She took great pleasure in realizing that their bodies molded together perfectly. As if they had been created for the other person.
Ariala looked up at Dimitrius she smiled coyly. "Why do you think that I wouldn't wish it?" She asked, bringing her arms around his neck, pulling him closer to her. |
Dimitrius teased as he reached up and cupped her cheek with his hand, "Marreck playing at your insecurities and forcing you to doubt me seems a pretty good reason to me, don't you? As long as you trust me, I know we'll be alright. You know I trust you, love, you've just got to trust me in return."
Placing a kiss on her forehead, he looked at her, hope filling his eyes, "Promise me you won't doubt me because of what that Marreck character says about me. Promise me you'll come to me with your concerns and will believe my words, for they will always, and I mean always be the truth. I have no reason to lie to you, nor do I ever wish to. I love you too much Ariala, to let you go over any form of infidelity." |
"And if all else fails, I'll create a flower trail and leave it to fate." She said with a smile, falling backwards onto a tree she had been growing. She landed on a branch as the tree continued to grow, sprouting apples on the branches. She took a bite of one and tossed another to Dimitrius.
|
Dimitrius couldn't help but chuckle as he caught the apple and began climbing the tree after Ariala, "Ariala, you didn't promise you know!"
Joining her on the branch he shook his head as he chuckled, "You're going to be the end of me." Taking a bite from the apple, he smiled as he brushed the hair from her face and tucked it behind her ear. Swallowing the apple, he inquired softly, "Now tell me, how do you feel about me? You know where I stand after my confession, but I still don't fully know where you stand. Don't be afraid of hurting me, I want nothing but the truth from you," he added with a smile. |
Ariala smiled at him warmly. "I care about you more then I've ever cared about anyone else. I'm not sure if its love because, in all honesty, I've never been in love before. But don't doubt my feelings. I'm sorry I doubted you." She said, bringing up her hand to carress his cheek. "And I promise I'll come to you when I'm feeling insecure." She finished.
Pulling his face towards hers, she kissed him slowly, gently carressing his bottom lip with her own lips. Then she deepened the kiss, moving her hand around his neck and pulling him closer to her. His mouth tasted of apple and she dropped her own to the ground as she wrapped her arm around his back, leaning against the branch for support. |
Dimitrius too dropped his apple as one arm snaked around her waist, pulling her as close as he could, while is other hand gently caressed her arm, his fingers gently brushing against her arm, shoulder, side, and finally hip before snaking around her back. With each movement, he kissed her - long, sweet, hard, and passionately.
|
Ariala moved her lips to gently kiss the length of his jaw, wanting to live in the moment forever. She traced her lips back to his mouth. Her hand on his back moved to his chest, gripping his shirt and holding him tight against her.
Finally, Ariala pushed against his shirt, releasing from the kiss and breathing hard. "Uhm, I suggest we get down before I lose my balance." She said with a small smile, though she didn't try to manuever out of the tree. Instead she stayed in his arms, not wanting to move but knowing that if they kissed much longer things would escalate out of control. |
Breathing hard himself, he nodded an he playfully teased, "Aye, love, that wouldn't be good now would it?" Simply pulling her closer, he smiled as his nose brushed against hers, "I don't want to let you go though. I'm quite happy with you being right here in my arms."
Smiling he briefly kissed her lips, "Strange things have gotten so strong between us so quickly isn't it? Though, in all honesty, it just feels so right, even if I am of a different race." Loosening his hold on her so he could look into her beautiful green eyes, he grinned, "Now, love, we can't stay here in this tree forever. Someone is bound to see us and throw a fuss over a Winter Elf being in Elimlee; especially if that said elf is in the arms of a certain Spring Elf who is as beautiful as freshly fallen snow sparking in the rays of the dawning sun. So, that being quite problematic, what shall we do? I'm yours for the day until you tell me to shove off and go home because you're sick of me," he added with a wicked grin as he kissed her lips once more. |
"I think we'll be safe. I'm sure no one will mind you being a Winter Elf." She said, wrapping her arm around his back once again. "But, I am quite comfortable..." She said, smiling. "Why don't you tell me your story? You were born then..."
|
Dimitrius smiled, a hint of sadness appearing in his eyes, "Not much to tell, love. I'm an apprentice to a Master, I was born and raised in the town across the border, my talent is weather; I live alone for my parents live in the Castle as aids to the King of Winterglade, so I'm always spending my time either in the woods, or with my nose in a book - time which will now be devoted to you as well," he added with a smile, the sadness instantly disappearing from his eyes, and kissed Ariala's forehead, "Tell me yours, love. It's surely less depressing than mine."
|
"Your story isn't at all depressing." Ariala said with a smile. "My life is somewhat the same. There's never been anything extremely interesting in my life. Until now of course." She said, pausing to kiss his lips gently. "I got my magic when I was very young, as most of us do, and my Master will probably be using some more of my time since I apparently will be able to create rain soon. I live with my parents but they're hardly around because they work at the Castle so much."
|
Dimitrius smiled as his fingers gently brushed against her cheek, "If learning such things make you happy, he should have all the time he requires without a second thought. Challenge yourself, Ariala, learn as much as you can. You never know when you might just need such magic to guide you and help you."
Placing a soft kiss on her forehead, he murmured, "I have faith in you, as should your friends. You'll succeed, so don't listen to the negative words of those around you wanting you to fail. They simply wish for the strength themselves and can't bare to see it within someone else while they still very much lack it." Smiling as he leaned back a bit so that he could fully see her face, he inquired, "This Master of yours, when does he wish to see you?" |
"The day after tomorrow." Ariala said, not meeting his gaze. "I'll be taught by an elder elf." She said quietly. The pressure was making her all but shake from nerves. "I'm just used to being good with my magic and now...I don't want to fail." She said, her voice quivering with fear.
|
"Hey," he called soothing as his finger gently caressed her chin, tilting her face to meet his, "don't worry. Believe in yourself and you will not fail, this I promise you. You're strong Ariala, I can already sense that, your Master senses it; surely you must realize it too.."
|
"Yes." Ariala said. She put on a smile, she didn't want they're first day of being together to be darkened by her doubts. "I am pretty amazing." She added with a wink, pulling him towards her and giving him a tender kiss.
|
Chuckling softly, his sweet breath caressing her lips, his arms slipped around her waist and closed the gap between them, "Aye, that you are. Now if only I could get you to believe and see it."
|
"Mmm..." Ariala mumbled, she was past forming words. Her lips moved seductively to his throat then back to his lips. She gripped him tight against her, unwilling to leave any space between them. Her fingers were gripping against his shirt, as her mind battled between taking off his shirt and knowing that she wasn't ready to move to fast.
|
Dimitrius, lost in the sudden intensity, simply kissed her and held her tighter, his hands caressing her sides and back as they kissed. Breaking from her lips, he kissed her cheek, her neck, until finally reaching her shoulder, which happened to be bare due to the sleeve of her dress having fallen to hang loosely against her arm. Moving his kisses down her arm, he took the strap between his teeth, pulled it up so it was back in place upon her shoulder once more, and retraced his kisses back up her neck, across her jaw, to her lips.
"I think, we should probably talk...," he panted as he broke from her lips and smiled down at her flushed face, "I.. I want to.. but I can't.. it wouldn't be right.. I mean, are we Elves or are we Humans? Elves, am I right? And Elves do not go there until after they're married, right?" Through is ramblings, he was trying to calm himself and reason with himself so he could suppress the want, the urge, no, the need to feel her soft delicate skin against his. |
"You're right." Ariala said, wriggling out from under him. She lept to the ground, landing a few feet away. She took a step backwards and settled into the ground. "Better?" Ariala said with a smile. The need for his body lessened, considering he wasn't pressed against her.
|
"Not really. I'm liking the view, as long as your in it," jumping from the limb, he walked over to her and took her hands in his. Pressing one of her hands to his lips, he smiled, "You know, love, things are going to get complicated mighty fast at the rate we're going."
|
"I don't want to go too fast." Ariala said in a small voice. "I just have to work on my control." She looked up at him. "But please don't think that's all I want." She said, slightly embarressed.
|
Smiling down at her, he let go of one of her hands to gently caress her cheek with his fingers, "I would never think that, love. I simply meant that at the rate our feelings our growing, or at least the rate mine are growing, it's going to get harder and harder for me to want to leave Elimlee once I'm with you, not that they'll miss me much back over in Winterglade."
Grinning, he added with a chuckle, "Too bad you all don't like snow and cold weather, I'd build a cottage over here just so I could see you more often." |
