Dimitrius couldn't help but laugh as he finished his plate of egg toast, "You know Ari, it's going to be an adventure living with you. I'll never know if I'll get sweet things or salty things," he teased as he placed a light kiss on her forehead before bringing his dishes to the sink and beginning to wash them along with the dishes he used to cook with.
"Very funny." Ariala joked, rolling her eyes. "You get ready, I'll wash the dishes." Ariala said as she brought her dishes to the sink. "We only have a few hours until it gets dark." She said before her eyes brightened considerably. "Do you think they'll be any good places to watch a sunset?" She asked happily, her voice filled with hope.
Drying his hands, Dimitrius nodded, "The driver told me of a small hill that looked over a winter meadow, said it'd be a nice spot to show you if we wanted to go for a walk. I have an idea of how to get there, but you'd best pack a blanket and wear an extra coat, we may end up getting lost," he admitted with a blush.
"I'm sure we'll do okay." Ariala laughed, giving him a quick peck on the cheek. "Now go get ready." She teased, turning away from him to wash the dishes.
Dimitrius chuckled as he put the towel down on the counter, "Alright, alright, I'm going. I'll be done in just a bit."
In moments, he was in the bathroom and into the shower. He was surprised, the water wasn't all that cold. 'Guess there's more hot water given at one than I thought,' he thought absently as he began to wash his hair. About twenty minutes later, Dimitrius was out of the shower and headed into the bedroom. Drying his hair, Dimitrius walked over to his closet and began taking out an outfit for the day. |
Ariala finished the dishes, towel drying them and putting them away quickly. She made her way to the small living room to find a blanket to bring with them. She knew Dimitirus probably wouldn't feel a thing if the weather turned colder. Ariala on the other hand, wouldn't be so lucky.
She found a blanket over the top of the couch and folded it gently over her arm, waiting patiently for Dimitrius to finish so that she could get a coat from the closet. |
Finishing in the bedroom, Dimitrius stepped out dressed in dark jeans, boots, a white t-shirt, and a dark jacket to find Ariala waiting patiently. Taking the blanket from her, Dimitrius placed a kiss upon her cheek, "I'll put the tea into a canister for us."
Ariala smiled, nodding to him before going into the bedroom. She found a white wool coat, pulling it on around her and buttoned the wooden buttons before returning to the kitchen. Ariala snuck up behind Dimitrius, putting her arms around his waist.
She put her chin against Dimitrius's shoulder, giving his neck a quick kiss. "Are you ready to leave, love?" She whispered, running kisses against the side of Dimitrius's neck. |
Twisting the cap onto the canister, Dimitrius set it down and turned around in her embrace, putting his lips in her path. After a few kisses, Dimitrius smiled and whispered, "Whenever you are."
"Let's go." Ariala said excitedly, reaching to give him a last kiss on the lips before slipping out his embrace and putting the blanket over her arm. Taking Dimitrius's hand in her's, Ariala led him towards the door. "Which way are we going?" Ariala asked as they walked, leaving the stone cottage behind as the left the gate.
Looking around, Dimitrius spotted which side of the small estate the pine tree was on, and headed in the direction of that, "This way. The driver said to go around the estate on the side of the pine tree, walk for about a mile, then make a left at the small hot spring. Once we reach that, it shouldn't take us long to reach the hill."
Ariala smiled with excitement as they continued to walk. She began humming quietly to herself. She extending her hand that was entwined with Dimitrius's above her head to do a small twirl, not noticing the flowers that bloomed where her feet had been.
Dimitrius couldn't help but smile as how childish she looked. Yet although childish is how she acted, he couldn't help but love her all the more for it. He could just see how wonderful she would be once she was a mother; their children will truly adore her.
Swooping down behind her as he twirled her, he picked up a small white calla lily that grew in her foot steps. Placing it behind Ariala's ear, Dimitrius placed a quick kiss upon her cheek as they walked, enjoying her soft humming as they walked. |
Ariala blushed as Dimitrius tucked the flower behind her ear, embarressed to find that there was a path of flowers behind them. "I guess we won't need to worry about getting lost." Ariala laughed quietly before picking up her humming again.
Dimitrius chuckled as he teased, "Not as long as you stay in the blissful mood your in. Though it makes me very happy to see you in such a good mood, seeing as how there's no color in Winterglade and it's so white and cold. I know it's not the greatest scenario, and I know you don't really like it, so I'm glad to see it's not dampening your mood, even though we're here instead for our first honeymoon instead of where I made arrangements for us to go on our, well, second," he added with a chuckle.
"Other arrangements?" Ariala asked curiously, a grin stretching across her small mouth. Her arm moved from Dimitrius's as it looped around his waist. "What are the other arrangements?" She asked playfully, resting her head against his side.
Dimitrius chuckled as he placed a tender kiss upon her forehead, "You'll see in a couple of months, and not a moment sooner. You'll like it though, I'm sure, for the temperature will be just right for you."
"You're not going to tell me?" Ariala asked, her voice heavy with disappointment. "Is there anything I can do to convince you?" She asked coyly as her hand slid up Dimitrius back, a teasing grin on her lips.
Dimitrius grinned as placed a light kiss on her lips and whispered, "You can try as much as you want, I won't mind one bit, but I still won't tell you. It's a surprise."
Ariala sighed against his side. "Fine then." She replied with a grin. "We turn here, right?" Ariala asked, pointing to the hot spring.
Dimitrius chuckled as he led her to the left. "Maybe later we can go to the hot-springs and relax," he whispered into her ear as they passed the hot water, steam rising and melting the snow surrounding the large pool.
After turning around another bend, they came to the hill. Placing a tender kiss upon Ariala's neck, he whispered softly, "What do you think of the view?" |
"Not nearly as gorgeous as my husband." Ariala laughed before turning to take in a full view of the fields. Ariala nearly gasped with shock as she saw the long stretch of field covered in a light coating of snow. "Its beautiful." She exclaimed happily.
The sky was already fading into a deep purple color, setting the snow into a purple haze. Ariala laid out the small blanket, sitting down on it as she watched the field intensely. Lost in its beauty. |
Sitting down beside her, Dimitrius leaned back on his hands and looked out over the scenery, "I told you it was beautiful. And as much as I love the compliment? One that sun sets, the only thing that beats out the scene is you."
Ariala rolled her eyes at Dimitrius's comment, laying down so that her head rested against his stomach. She watched as the sun began to set, sending flames across the snow covered fields. "Its beautiful." She said innocently, bringing Dimitrius's hand across her side and taking it within her own.
"Just like you," Dimitrius smiled as he held her against him and placed a tender kiss upon her head, "I love you."
