Marreck responded to her kisses eagerly, curling his fingers into her hair as he pressed her against the counter. Feeling a shiver of desire run down his spine, Marreck brought his tongue to explore Emelaide's mouth while one of his hands fell to the hem of her shirt. Slipping a few fingers under her shirt, Marreck carressed Emelaide's smooth skin as he kissed her.
Hopping up on the bit of counter before the sink, Emelaide wrapped her legs around Marreck's waist as she leaned against him, her lips trailing across his jaw and down his neck, her tongue lightly caressing his skin with each kiss. One hand slipping into his hair, Emelaide pulled him closer her to her as the other hand clutched the front of his shirt, her lips finding their way back to his as she murmured, "I love you Marreck."
"I love you to, Emelaide." Marreck whispered against her lips before giving her a passionate kiss as if trying to prove to her that he wanted to marry her through kisses. Raising his hand under her shirt, Marreck moved his hand up her lower back and carressed the skin underneath his fingers. "So much." He whispered as his lips moved across her jaw to her ear where he nibbled gently on her earlobe.
Biting her lower lip, Emelaide pulled away from him slightly an rested her forehead against his shoulder, her hands loosely clutching the hem of his shirt as she whispered, "Marreck.. too much.. getting too hard.. I'm sorry.."
"I'm sorry, Em." Marreck sighed as he removed his hand from under her shirt and cupped her chin. "I'll be good." He promised with a small smile.
Placing a tender kiss upon his lips, Emelaide grinned, "I don't want you to be good, but I did promise. And if you keep doing what you're doing, my resolve is going to completely break and I'm not going to go farther than you want," she admitted in a whisper as she blushed and placed a tender kiss upon his forehead, "And I love you, so I have to stop. So, to distract us, let's go shopping," Emelaide suggested with a laugh.
"Shopping it is." Marreck smiled as he looped an arm over Emelaide's shoulders and led her towards the door. "Where are we going?" He asked once they were in the snow.
Opening the small coin pouch she had grabbed on their way out, Emelaide counted how much silver, gold, and ice she had, "Hmm, if we take a left up here, the market won't be too far away. I've got enough left to get what we need for dinner, but not much else. Daddy didn't leave me with too much since mum had just stocked the house before they left."
Tying the pouch to her belt, Emelaide slipped her arm around Marreck's waist and leaned into him as she rested her head against his shoulder with a smile, "I know they'll love you, so just be yourself alright? Don't try and impress them with what you think they'd like. I love you for you, and I know they'll love you too." |
"I'm afraid I can't be much more then me so I guess I'm going to have to do." Marreck laughed as he followed Emelaide's lead to the market. "I just hope they like me. I'd hate to have your parents not like me." He sighed.
Emelaide smiled as she placed a tender kiss upon his cheek, "Don't talk nonsense. Things aren't going to end like they did with Dimitrius and Ariala, I promise you. My parents are quite a bit more understanding than Ariala's, I can promise you that. I just know they'll love you once they meet you and realize just how deep our feelings run for each other."
Marreck smiled as he remembered the ring box in his pocket at Emelaide's words. "I hope so." He said as he looked around at the ice houses. "Where's this market of your's?" He asked as he scanned the village.
Emelaide chuckled as gestured to the small block of shops in front of her, "Here! Does your market not have shops? Come on, the import store is over here," she said with a smile as she led him towards a small building near the outside of the group.
"Our market is mostly outside rather then inside." Marreck smiled as he followed Emelaide. "But maybe its because us Spring Elves are just crazy about the outdoors." He laughed. "So what are we looking for?" Marreck asked as he looked around the shelves of the food store.
"We need lemon juice and romaine lettuce from here. Then we need to head to the grain shop and pick up macaroni, grahmcrackers, and croutons, then from the dairy we need eggs, cream cheese, cheese for the salad, and cheese for the macaroni and cheese.. Oh! And we need olive oil, chocolate chips, and fudge from the general store," Emelaide listed off as she thought of the dishes they were to make that afternoon so they'd be ready in time for dinner and looked though the shelves for the lemon juice.
Reaching up to one of the taller shelves, Marreck grabbed the lemon juice and handed it to Emelaide. "Romaine?" He asked as he looked around the market shelves and saw the produce on the other side of the store. Leading Emelaide, Marreck began to look through the lettuces to find the romaine.
Emelaide chuckled as she held the lemon juice, "It's a good thing you're tall dearest.. And yes, Romaine. But Iceburg will do if they don't have Romaine."
Marreck found the romaine hidden in the lettuce area and led Emelaide to the shopkeeper to pay for the two items.
Paying for the items, Emelaide walked with Marreck out of the store as she carried the small paper bag of items. Looking up at Marreck, Emelaide sighed, "Marreck, something's wrong.. Or at least there's something you're not telling me... Is there something you're hiding from me? You're quiet, almost distant.. Is it.. because I keep stopping us when we kiss for awhile and things start going too far?" Emelaide asked with a blush.
"I'm sorry, love." Marreck apologized, unsurprised he couldn't keep a secret from her. "Can you wait until tonight?" He asked shyly. "I would prefer to be alone when I tell you. Its kind of...special." He said, a large grin on his face. "But I promise. It will be worth the wait. At least I hope so." He assured her, pulling her into his arms to give her a tender kiss.
Emelaide looked at him curiously but decided to brush it off, in truth having no idea what he was getting at but figured he knew what he was doing so she wouldn't press it. Placing a tender kiss upon his lips, Emelaide nodded, "Alright, I trust you. Whatever it is you need to tell me can wait until you're ready to tell me."
Leading him into the Dairy shop, Emelaide went about looking for mozzarella and parmesan cheese along with the other items she needed within the store. |
Marreck followed silently behind Emelaide, ignoring the strange looks from the other Winter Elves shopping as he reached the things that Emelaide could not. "Do you always cook this well when your parents visit?" He asked curiously as they collected the last of the dairy ingredients.
Emelaide laughed as they brought the ingredients to the counter and she paid for them, "Marreck, my parents aren't visiting. It's their house, this is their coming home dinner. They've been off visiting family, remember?"
Placing the items in the bag she already had, Emelaide headed out of the Dairy store to the General store across the street, "But no, we don't usually cook this much. Mum tends to have pretty laid back simple meals. But I figured since it's their coming home dinner, and I had hoped you'd dine with us tonight, I'd go all out." |
"I was just wondering if you always cooked this much because I may be somewhat handy in the kitchen but I'm far from spectacular." Marreck laughed as he opened the General Store door for Emelaide.
Smiling, Emelaide bumped her hip against his gently as she slipped her arm around his waist and placed a tender kiss upon his cheek, "I'm sure you'll be wonderful. Besides, it'll be fun cooking with you."
"I hope so. I don't think giving your parents food posioning would be the best first impression." Marreck laughed as he wandered the store, looking for the olive oil, chocolate chips, and fudge. "Where would they keep fudge in here?" Marreck wondered as they walked through the small aisles.
