"She wouldn't think that." Marreck assured her. "She knows me enough to know I'd have the dignity to at least wait until they were gone before we did anything." Marreck laughed.
~~~ "I'd love to raise Dimeria." Ariala said. "She's so irresistably sweet. Besides, I'll need my practice." Ariala laughed once as she cradled her stomach with her free hand. |
Emelaide placed a tender kiss upon his lips as she whispered, "Are you sure? Promise?"
- Dimitrius laughed as he wrapped his arm around her waist and held her close, "Well, we'll be raising her until the end of Spring, so we'll have to see how you feel at the end of Spring when my parents come to fetch her." |
"Promise." Marreck smiled, giving her another small kiss. "But we should probably get up, love." He laughed.
~~~ "How I'll feel?" Ariala asked. "I'll feel heartbroken. We'll have to visit her and your mother. Your father seemed nice enough but if you'd rather we didn't see him then that's fine to." Ariala shrugged as she put her arm around Dimitrius's waist as the entered the meadow. |
"Mmm, probably.. Your mom's cooking smells delicious," she whispered as the smell reached her nose. "I'll be changed in just a minuet," she added before placing a light kiss on his nose and slipping out of the bed. Slipping the shirt off, Emelaide found her dress and pulled it over her head as she put on her flats. Holding the shirt, Emelaide turned to Marreck, "Where should I put this?"
- Dimitrius sighed, "Ari.. you don't know my father.. If you knew the truth, you wouldn't think so highly of him.." |
Marreck took the shirt and tossed it in the hamper. "Hm." He said, looking over Emelaide. "I think the shirt looked better." He teased, giving her a wink. Putting an arm around her shoulders, Marreck led Emelaide into the kitchen where a stack of pancakes sat in the middle of the table.
"And here I was thinking that you were going to keep the poor girl locked up in your room all day." Alena laughed as she set syrup on the table. "You're father is at the Palace. I'm sorry you didn't get to see much of him." She said to Emelaide as she handed plates and silverware to Marreck who promptly set the table for the three of them. ~~~ "He was nice to me. I thought he'd be angry with me." Ariala said shyly, slipping into her coat as they crossed the border. Putting her arm back around Dimitrius, Ariala continued walking forward into Winterglade. |
Emelaide smiled at Alena, "I'm not too worried, Mrs. O'Sullivan. I'll have plenty of days to get to know him in the future. These pancakes smell delicious! You didn't tell me your mother was such an amazing cook, Marreck! I'd have came here long ago if you'd told me," she added with a small laugh.
- "He was nice to you because-never mind. You don't need to know," Dimitrius said as he led her through the forest towards the town. |
Alena blushed as she sat at her plate and placed a few pancakes on her plate. "I'm not surprised that Marreck didn't mention his harebrained mother. Probably didn't want to scare you away." Alena laughed, giving Emelaide a wink. "Sit down you two." She said, gesturing for them to sit as she poured blueberry syrup all over her pancakes.
Marreck immediately obliged, sitting beside his mother and putting a few pancakes on his plate. ~~~ "Dimitrius." Ariala sighed. "You can't say something like that and leave out the ending. Now I'm curious." She said, looking up at him as innocently as possible. "Please tell me?" She asked shyly, hoping that her facade would hold up but the chances were slim. |
Sitting opposite Alena, Emelaide smiled as she put pancakes on her own plate, "Nonsense Mrs. O'Sullivan! Your a true dear, I love having spent what time I have with you. I only wish my own mother were half as wonderful as you. I'm afraid she's rather.. distant, you could say," Emelaide admitted with a blush as she poured syrup upon her pancakes after buttering them generously.
- Dimitrius sighed as he quietly told her of his father's history, what he does to his mother, as well as the thoughts he had while meeting Ariala, "Do you see why I can't stand him? Why I don't want you around him?" |
"Well you're welcome here anytime you like." Alena said happily. "And you don't have to have Marreck here either. We can find something interesting to do that doesn't involve boys." Alena winked, biting into her pancakes.
"Mother, can we not scare away my finace already?" Marreck teased as he put strawberry syrup on his pancakes. ~~~ "Ew." Ariala said, wrinkling her nose. "That's horrible. I feel slightly dirty now." She said, tucking closer to Dimitrius. "Maybe you shouldn't have told me that." She laughed quietly. |
Emelaide laughed softly as she poured herself some juice, "Nonsense Marreck! I'd be more than happy to take up your mother's offer. I'd love to come and visit," said Emelaide with a smile as she dug into her pancakes.
- Dimitrius sighed as he stopped and pulled her to him in a tender hug, "I'm sorry, love... I probably shouldn't have told you.. It's just.. I don't want you getting to close to him.. Who knows what that man will try.." |
"If you say so, love, but we're coming at your own risk." Marreck teased.
"Oh, give your mother a break." Alena laughed. "I'm plenty fun." She smiled. "And I need a girl to talk to after being cooped up in the house with you and your father." ~~~ "Its alright." Ariala said, wrapping her arms around Dimitrius's neck. "I just didn't think that he was so..." She said, letting her voice trail off. "I can't think of the word. I just thought he was being nice." She sighed. |
Emelaide laughed, "It'll be fun and will be a new experience for me. I've never had a girl-chat, I think they're called? I've always just had Dimitrius, Cindalina, and my Parents. Sure, I could talk to Auntie Lina, but it's not exactly the same. Speaking with your mother would be.. relaxing? I suppose would be the correct word? I always have to be so prim and proper.. But with your mother, I feel as if I can not act my age and not be shunned for it," Emelaide explained to Marreck with a blush before digging into her pancakes once more.
- Dimitrius sighed as he placed a tender kiss upon her head, "He's a vile, cruel, self-absorbed monster.. and I'm very sorry I told you.. I shouldn't have.." |
"My finace's been corrupted." Marreck smiled, giving Emelaide a wink. "I think I'll keep her anyways." He smiled. "I was going to look at houses today anyways. Maybe you two could have some girl-chat as you call it."
"Perfect!" Alena said happily. "Its been so long since I could talk to someone who isn't a male." She clapped her hands excitedly before continuing to eat her pancakes. ~~~ "Don't be sorry." Ariala said, kissing the side of his neck beore pulling away from the hug and linking their hands. "I'm glad you told me. At least I know now." She said, raising their joined hands so she could twirl before walking on towards Cindalina's house. |
Emelaide smiled, "That sounds wonderful. If you find anything, be sure to come and fetch us? I wish to find a house we both love as soon as possible so that we may marry. And while you're working out details with the owner, if we choose to purchase and if we can afford to purchase it through our combined funds, your mother and I can talk of decorating and rearranging," she added with a wink at Alena.
- Bringing her hand to his lips, Dimitrius placed a light kiss upon her fingers before leading her into Cindalina's house, "Auntie Lina? Ria? Ari and I have come to fetch Ria and tell you some good news." "We're in the kitchen baking cookies!" called Cindalina. Dimeria, however, ran to Dimitrius' voice and through her arms around his waist, "Trius! You're back! I've missed you and Ari!" Hugging her with his free hand Dimitrius gently caressed the back of her head, "I'm sorry it took us so long, love." Turning her attention to Ariala, Dimeria threw her arms around her waist and hugged her tight as well as she looked up at Ariala with a wide grin on her face, her nose and forehead covered in flour. Dimitrius chuckled as he dusted off the front of his jacket and pants, "Ria, love, I think you're wearing all of the cookies' flour!" |
"Girl-chat." Alena said happily. "When are you leaving, dear?" She asked Marreck.
"Now you're just trying to steal Emelaide away from me." Marreck laughed as he stood. "But I did plan on leaving soon." He said before bringing his dishes to the sink and going to his bedroom to shower and change into a simple pair of tan pants and a white shirt. "I'll be back later." Marreck said, giving Emelaide a tender kiss before leaving for town. ~~~ Ariala smiled as she removed her coat, hanging it gently beside the door before picking up Dimeria. "But surprisingly it only makes her look more adorable." She laughed. "What kind of cookies are you making?" Ariala asked Dimeria as she brought her to the kitchen. |
Finishing her pancakes and juice, Emelaide brought her dishes to the sink and began washing her and Marreck's dishes, "After I finish these up, I'm going to head home to brush my teeth and change. It won't take me long, so I'll be back in just under twenty minutes. Then we can have a girl-chat," added Emelaide with a smile over her shoulder.
- "Chocolate chip oatmeal with extra cinnamon!" replied Ria happily as she hugged Ariala, resulting in flour flying off of Dimeria and onto Ariala. Dimitrius chuckled as he put his coat beside Ariala's and followed them into the kitchen, "Mornin' Auntie. I hope Ria hasn't been too much trouble." "O' course not, love! Ria's been a treasure as always. You said you had good news? Is it about the house? Have they begun construction yet? Come love, tell me! Don't leave me in suspense," Cindalina said as she put a batch of cookies into the oven. |
"Oh, don't do the dishes, child." Alena chided. "Otherwise I won't have any work to do. You just worry about getting ready." She smiled warmly at Emelaide before bringing her dishes to the sink and ushering Emelaide away from the sink as she resumed the dishes.
~~~ Ariala smiled as she wiped some flour off of her shoulder. Taking Dimitrius's hand, Ariala warpped it around her waist until it settled near her stomach and she put her hand delicately over his. "I'm pregnant." Ariala blushed as she watched Cindalina's expression. |
Emelaide chuckled as she wiped off her hands, "Very well. I'll see you soon," she promised with a smile before rushing home. After showering, Emelaide used her magic to dry her hair as she brushed her teeth. Giving her hair a quick run through, Emelaide changed into a pair of light jean shorts and a light pink lace cami before throwing on a white crop jacket and leaving a note for her parents, who were already at the Palace resuming their duties.
After leaving the note, Emelaide ran with a smile on her face back to Marreck's house and knocked on the door. - Cindalina grinned as she put down her potholders and rushed over to Ariala, "Oh Ari! Congratulations! I can't believe you're going to be a mother so soon! Are you excited? How are you feeling, are you doing alright? What about the morning sickness, do you have anything for it? Are you sleeping well? Are you taking it a wee bit easier in lessons and not killing yourself over them? Are you eating properly? Have you had anything to eat? Are you hungry?" Dimitrius burst out laughing as he placed a hand on his Aunt's shoulder, "Auntie, one at a time, one at a time." Rolling her eyes playfully, Cindalina cupped Ariala's cheek and placed a kiss upon her forehead, "Congratulations, love, I'm very happy for you. And I look forward to meet you when you arrive eleven months from now!" cooed Cindalina as she gently tapped Ariala's stomach. |
"Welcome back, dear." Alena smiled as she wiped her hands off with a towel and moved to the door. "You don't need to worry about knocking. You're welcome here any time. I just put some water on for tea. What kind do you like? I have all sorts." Alena smiled as she held open a box revealing tea extracted from different fruits and plants.
~~~ Ariala blushed a brilliant red at Cindalina's reaction, inching closer to Dimitrius as she put her hand over her flat stomach. "My mother's given me some tea for the morning sickness." She explained. "It works wonders. I'm a little nervous but I think it will fade as the birth comes closer." She said as she set down Dimeria and took a seat. |
"What ever you're having will be fine," said Emelaide with a blush, "And thank you, I shall remember that next time."
- Dimitrius smiled as he placed a tender kiss upon Ariala's head before sitting adjacent to her, Dimeria instantly crawling onto his lap and wrapping her arms around his waist as best she could, resting her head in the crook of his neck. Wrapping his arms around Dimeria, Dimitrius placed a light kiss upon her head before smiling at Cindalina as she spoke, "Good good, tea is always the best remedy. I've yet to meet your parents, I do hope I'll be able to meet them soon. Were they alright with the marriage? Are they angry? I hope they're not too angry.. The must understand, under the circumstances. What about the pregnancy? Do they know?" |
Alena hummed quietly to herself as she placed two apple teabags into a couple of mugs as she waited for the water boil. "Now tell me more about yourself. I mean, despite the fact that I can't seem to get Marreck to stop talking about you, I'd like to hear more about you." Alena smiled as she sat gracefully into a chair in the kitchen.
~~~ "They know." Ariala smiled. "We went to them as soon as we found out. My mother is very supportive. My father however will need some more time to adjust, I think it just came as a shock to them." Ariala said shyly. "Everything will work itself out." She said as she rubbed her stomach gently. |
"I'm afraid there's not much to tell," Emelaide said softly, "But whatever you'd like to know, I'd be more than happy to oblige in telling."
- Cindalina sighed as she brought Ariala and Dimitrius a cup of tea, "Don't you fret, love, he'll come around in no time. He's just still under shock that his baby girl has grown up and is expecting a baby of her own. I'm glad that your mum's supportive though, that'll help in bringin' around your father," she added with a smile, "So, 'ave you two started work on the house yet?" |
"Well." Alena pondered, not wanting to bombard the girl with questions. "Tell me about Winterglade, I've never been there." She smiled warmly.
~~~ "No." Ariala sighed. "I was thinking of talking to the construction crew tomorrow about starting. They've made blueprints and we'll just have to go over them." Ariala said, looking over at Dimitrius. "We're not busy tomorrow are we?" |
"Winterglade.." Emelaide smiled at the comforting question, "We have mountains covered in snow, rivers and lakes frozen to where we can skate, our houses are carved out of ice, ice crystals hang from everything and glisten in the sun, the snow just sparkles to life in both the morning and evening light.. It's truly a Winter Fairytale."
- "Not that I know of. If you don't have a lesson, then we're free to meet with the crews," said Dimitrius as he took a sip of his tea. Checking the cookies, Cindalina asked the couple, "Who did you decide to go with from Winterglade? Gawin or Pulan?" |
"It sounds beautiful." Alena sighed. "And cold." She laughed. "I bet Marreck freezes over there sometimes. Though he'd never say anything to you of course." She laughed as she poured the hot water from the stove into the mugs with the teabags. Placing one in front of Emelaide, Alena returned to her seat.
~~~ "Pulan I believe, right love?" Ariala asked Dimitrius, unsure of which they'd chosen to help with the house. |
