"I can't tell you how to go about it," Ana said softly as Bain mused about his family. "As far as anyone else was concerned back when I was first turned, I had been executed as a witch. People already thought I was dead, so it was easy to slip away." She hesitated for a moment, and then reached out to take his hand. "We can figure something out." She was quiet for a moment, thinking, but no answers immediately presented themselves. She truly felt terrible about what she'd had to do to save him, and she was going to make the transition as easy for him as she could.

"Marcus wants me back with the family in six months," she said softly. She looked down a little as she spoke, somehow a bit unwilling to meet his eyes. "You have to stay with me for much longer than that. There are things I need to teach you... And it will take a while for you to really get used to being noctournal." She bit her lower lip slightly, not even noticing that one of her fangs caught the skin. "It will take a while for you to transition enough to daywalk again. But you will, eventually."

He nodded remembering when she had told him about that particular part of her past. He felt bad, she hadn't even gotten to say goodbye to any of her loved ones, while he on the other hand would be able to leave them how he chose. He almost shook his head again at the thought but stopped himself. He had time to think about what he was going to do about his family, right now what he needed to focus on was himself and how he was going to handle all the new things he would be experiencing.

Ah, so he had six months with her, his mind must have been more out of focus then he had previously thought, it made him wonder what else he might have missed. His eyes momentarily glanced to her lips watching as her delicate fang caught the skin. He felt something pull at him as he watched the simple action. Suddenly realizing that she was still talking he quickly shook himself from his wondering thoughts and forced himself to focus back onto what she had been saying as his eyes darted back up to her eyes.

"So I will be joining you when you go to Marcus then?" He thought his voice sounded a little hopeful and it probably did. He didn't want her to be trapped with that male. Just the thought of it made his own blood boil. With him there at least he would feel better knowing she wasn't alone.

"You'll have to," Ana replied. She looked at him, apprehension clear in her expression. She still expected him to blame her for what happened, like she did. If he hadn't known her, none of this would have happened to him, and she knew it. "You're far too young to be on your own, and you will be for some time. It takes decades to build up the kind of control you need to be able to be solitary."

She hesitated again. "Besides, I want to keep you close. My being Marcus's enforcer again doesn't guarantee your safety, and I don't trust him not to try to use you again to keep me in line." She knew he didn't know what an enforcer was, and she kind of wanted him to ask, but at the same time she was sure he wouldn't look at her quite the same if he knew.

He sighed in relief. He didn't want to be solitary, not if he didn't have to anyway. There was to much he didn't understand to feel comfortable on his own. Besides he had grown quite fond of Ana, even if he wouldn't say it out loud, not right now anyways.

"That's alright, I'd prefer to stay with you anyways"

Bain shook his head in disbelief. Why would she think he would be endanger now? He was a vampire now right? Surly he could hold his own. But he decided not to push the matter. She seemed exhausted mentally and he didn't want to push her. He would after all be with her for quite some time now that she had to teach him.

"You keep saying enforcer, what does that mean exactly" He might not know to much about vampires but the name led him to believe that she kept the others Marcus kept around him in line, and he assumed it was by any means necessary. And by the way Marcus went about obtaining Ana again, it made him wonder just how out of control the vampires were where Marcus choose to reside.

"An enforcer is... someone outside of the family hierarchy," Ana said. She was going to try to explain as best she could. "The enforcer is just that: he enforces the rules laid down by the head of the family and keeps everyone in line. The enforcer is the one you never want to see singling you out." Here, she hesitated. "Enforcers are afforded a level of respect, given the skills and strength necessary to be able to do the job, and they only answer to the head of the family. It... isn't a pretty job, and sometimes examples must be made." She bit her lip a little again, grazing the delicate skin there with one sharp fang. "I was Marcus's enforcer for a long time, and I was good at my job."

She glanced at him, although part of her didn't want to. She didn't think she could bear it if he looked at her in fear or disgust. She had killed before, and wouldn't deny it, but something made her want to please him. She wanted his approval.
