Bain watched as she seemed to stiffened. Had she said something that she was worried about? he was about to ask when she added that last bit at the end. He sighed inwardly
he didn’t think she would be offended by it but he wasn’t sure he really wanted to say it out loud. He wasn’t even that sure of it himself he was hoping to give it more consideration before even hinting at it toward her. with a little bit of reluctance he let out the breath he was holding.

“alright if it will get you off my back….. I think I becoming attracted to you” there he had said it now let the awkwardness commence.

Mageling 06-28-2009 04:17 AM

"You are?" Ana asked in surprise. She certainly hadn't expected that, although in hindsight she wasn't sure what she'd been expecting in the first place. The more the thought rolled around in her mind, though, the more uneasy it became. More than likely, he was attracted to the idea of her being a creature of darkness, instead of being attracted to her herself. She sighed.

"Bain, listen. Before you can really, honestly say something like that, you have to come to terms with what I am. That means everything, Bain, not just the fangs and fair skin." She gave him a look that clearly implied what she was talking about. He would have to watch her feed.

amara nightfire 06-28-2009 04:40 AM

Oh he understood perfectly well what she had meant. But he couldn’t help but be a little irritated he had wanted to avoid this whole situation because he was unsure of the feeling but she hadn’t let it drop. He looked at her making sure some of his irritation was showing.

“which was why I was trying to avoid this conversation.” He said his voice was calm and his irritation eased away as quickly as it had come. He looked away from her as he said the next words “I said I was unsure and I mean that” he turned back toward her to look her in the eyes.

“I mean I’ve only really met you a few days ago which I think is why I said that I’m attracted to you and not…” ‘I like you’ well he couldn’t quite say it he wasn’t even sure if like was an adequate word for what he felt for her besides he had already said enough and he figured she could finish the sentence on her own.

Mageling 06-28-2009 04:50 PM

So he wasn't sure what he was feeling... Ana wasn't sure how to respond to that. After all, she was used to men knowing exactly what they wanted at any given time. She'd also only been around vampire men for the last century or so, as well, so that might have something to do with it.

"Alright, then, I won't push the subject anymore," she said simply. Might as well let him go at his own pace. For some reason, he was the first human in all of her three centuries that she didn't want to manipulate to her own purposes. She actually wanted him to do things his way, and that surprised her. Perhaps she was developing an attraction to him in return?

amara nightfire 06-30-2009 04:41 AM

She looked surprised with his answer, and though he wasn’t sure why, it made him feel… odd. It wasn’t really a feeling he could describe so odd was the only word that fit though he tried not to let it bother him. his only real response to her was to smile in thanks. With girls it was sometimes easy to decide that he did not like them other times it was hard to make the call because they had so many good qualities and so many bad. But with her it was completely different she was the only girl that had ever caught his attention this quickly. and so far he wasn’t seeing and draw backs to her… well except for her being a vampire.

But that was the only thing that made things confusing really. Asking questions probably wasn’t going to be enough to discover what it really was to be a vampire but he wasn’t about to ask if he could watch her when ever she did something… not human. Heck he wasn’t even sure if he was ready for something like that.

Realizing that they had both fallen silent he floundered for something to break the silence. “so….. how often do you have to eat?” it was a shot in the dark, it wasn’t something that he normally would of asked but it was the first thing to pop in his mind.

Mageling 06-30-2009 05:33 AM

So it seemed she hadn't lost his interest after all. That was good sign.

"It depends on how much blood I take each time," she replied. "A large enough meal can keep me going for days, but that tends to be conspicuous. I usually tap one or two people every day. That's usually enough."

She'd answered his question as honestly as she could, he deserved honesty after all of the trouble she'd just put him through. She just hoped that the answer wouldn't scare him off. After all, she'd just admitted to drinking the blood of humans, that couldn't possibly sit well with him.

amara nightfire 06-30-2009 05:39 PM

He wasn’t sure of how he felt about the situation and he hated feeling that way. it was the fact that she was talking about drinking human blood. It somehow fascinated him yet made him horribly nervous at the same time. it was one of those weird instances where you both hated and loved something. Not wanting to feel unsure any more he thought of all the things she had told him and of what little time he had spent with her. he wasn’t afraid of her he decided it was just what she was, was an unknown. In order to be completely ok with her he would have to spend a lot more time with the unknown.

“so how many vampires go to this school?”

Mageling 06-30-2009 10:11 PM

Ana thought about that.

"Five, maybe six," she answered slowly. "I usually only see them in passing, and most of them are only about a hundred. Barely old enough to be out during the day, really, so this is probably their first time through college."

She thought about where she'd seen other vampires on campus during class hours.

"One works in the financial building as a receptionist, she's the one with the short, dark hair. I think two others are full-time students, and I know another that lives in this building, she's about two floors down. The fifth works in the student center, she's the evening shift at the information desk. And the last one must just be a part-timer, because I've only ever seen him take two classes at a time."

amara nightfire 07-01-2009 04:56 AM

“oh… wow” he said more to himself then to her. it was a lot more then he had expected and if that was how many were on school grounds… he could only imagine the number of them in the surrounding area. then he began to wonder if he felt safer knowing they were they or did he feel safer when he was ignorant of their existence. His mind told him that his was better to know then not to, but his instincts were telling him different.

“alright I think I’ve had enough of interrogating you for the moment” he said as he smiled at her. he then went to reach for one of the papers that she had laying on her bed. “so what had you decided to do for your proje-” he was cut of however when his hand hit the papers edge wrong. He pulled his hand back quickly and watched his finger where a little drop of blood was welling up. He looked up at her nervously unsure of how she would react.

Mageling 07-01-2009 05:20 AM

Ana saw him cut his hand as if it were in slow motion. Even though she knew it was coming, the scent of fresh blood made her freeze. Unconsciously, she inhaled slowly, savoring the scent. Then she realized what was happening and reined herself in roughly.

"Go...go clean that," she said hoarsely. Getting up, she very nearly stumbled as she sprinted to the window and threw it open, disregarding the afternoon sunlight in favor of gulping in fresh air. She had to get the scent of blood out of her nose. She stood there breathing in fresh air, half out the window, until she felt the beginning sting of her skin burning.

"Bain," she called, not willing to risk coming away from the window if the scent of blood was still in the loft, "are you alright?"

amara nightfire 07-01-2009 05:35 AM

Her reaction greatly worried him and he stood quickly and dashed for her bathroom. He should have been more careful he scolded himself. He quickly rinsed off his hand and searched her bathroom for a Band-Aid to help hide the sent or at least he hoped that it would hide it or at least dull it. finding one he put it on and headed back toward her.

He paused for a second when he saw her exposing herself in the sunlight. Hadn’t she just been burned doing that? he made his way over to her quickly to pull her out of the sun when she asked if he was alright.

“yes I’m fine it was only a paper cut” he said slightly irritated as he put his hand on her shoulder. “the bloods been cleaned, now get out off the sun light we don’t need you burning yourself again.”

Mageling 07-01-2009 05:58 AM

Reluctantly, Ana closed the blackout curtains again, though she left the window itself open to maintain air circulation. Gently, she ran her fingers over her face. Just slightly burned, she estimated, easily enough healed.

"I'm sorry," she murmured. "Did any blood get onto the bedding or papers?"

Bain seemed both annoyed and uneasy, though she couldn't blame him for his unease. After all, she'd just very nearly fed from him. That would unnerve anyone who knew what was happening.

amara nightfire 07-01-2009 07:36 PM

He studied her for a moment to make sure she hadn’t hurt herself before he made his way over to the bed to inspect the papers and covers. He knew that no blood had fallen on them but better play it safe for now.

“no” he said he was calm again as if nothing had happened. Honestly he had only been frightened by her first reaction but it seemed that she could keep a solid hold on herself, well for the most part. “are you ok?” he asked slightly concerned by the redness of her skin.

Mageling 07-01-2009 08:32 PM

"I'll be fine," she replied, "it's not as bad as it looks. It should be gone in a week."

She walked back over to the bed and sat down cautiously, not wanting to frighten Bain anymore than she probably had already. She was grateful that the scent of blood hadn't lingered, otherwise she probably wouldn't be able to control herself.

"I'm sorry for what just happened, Bain..." she said softly. "If that cut had been any worse..." She trailed off.

amara nightfire 07-02-2009 05:12 AM

Bain fallowed her to the bed and sat down beside her. Bain sighed when she spoke. “don’t worry about it, it was my fault” he sight slightly exasperated with himself. Unconsciously he tilted his head back and closed his eyes exposing his throat. Normally doing this when ever frustrated about something, then as if realizing his mistake he clamped his hand over his exposed throat and tilted his head back down slowly moving his hand back to where it had originally been.

“I’m not making this easy for you am I?” he said half serious and half joking. Perhaps he should leave for the now? before he made things worse.

Mageling 07-02-2009 05:22 AM

Ana couldn't stop her eyes from going to his throat when he tipped back his head.

"If you recall, you've done that before," she replied carefully when he covered his throat, hiding his veins from view. She looked away when he tipped his head back down.

"Sorry," she said. "I'm old, but I'm far from perfect."

amara nightfire 07-03-2009 04:28 AM

“Sorry it’s a bad habit.” Bain said as he rubbed the back of his neck in embarrassment. “I tend to do it when I’m thinking” he laid his hand back down at his side and looked at her.

“don’t worry about it no harm done” he said lightly. He wasn’t sure how to make her feel better about the situation but he did know that he would have to watch his movments frm now on.

Mageling 07-03-2009 04:49 AM

Bain seemed unruffled, but Ana could tell he was still uneasy.

"If I make you uncomfortable, you have every right to leave," she said softly. "I won't force you to stay." She glanced at the clock by the head of the bed. It was getting late, the sun would be setting soon... She would have to start getting ready for her hunt. She glanced at Bain. He didn't seem to be leaving anytime soon. Perhaps she should offer again...

"It's starting to get dark, everyone will be going out soon. If you'd like to come with me, just after sunset is the best time to claim territory for the night," she offered. "Of course, you would need to be prepared to stay out a bit late."

amara nightfire 07-03-2009 05:01 AM

Bain shook his head no when she had mentioned leaving if he felt uncomfortable it wasn’t because of what had happened it was more the fact that he himself had screwed up. His head snapped up to look at her however when she offered to let him come on a what would you call it a hunt? He had to admit he was curious about it but at the same time it seemed kind of weird if he was tagging along to watch her.. but would she have offered if she felt off about letting him watch?

“as long as it does not bother you then I will come”

Mageling 07-03-2009 07:43 PM

"It won't bother me, Bain. But I won't lie to you, I won't be myself," she warned. Getting up, she gathered her papers on the bed. "It's probably best if you went back to your dorm to change into something more... appropriate. After all, we ARE going clubbing."

She started thinking about what she was going to wear when it occurred to her that none of her night-wear had sleeves. Perhaps she could give Veronica a visit... The other vampire would have something she could borrow to cover her burn.

amara nightfire 07-05-2009 05:22 AM

He had figured she would be… different when she was ‘hunting’ but he wasn’t sure about the way she said she wouldn’t be herself. something just seemed off about that. feeling slightly uncomfortable with the thought he regained himself. Maybe she was just over exaggerating. He eyed her carefully when she said they were going clubbing. ‘Great’ her thought ‘another club’ well at least she would be there.

“alright” he said standing up. “I’ll be back in a little bit” he said as he smiled at her he then made his way to the door and left for his dorm room.

Mageling 07-05-2009 05:59 AM

Ana watched him leave and sighed. She really hoped that going with her wouldn't scare him away... Getting up, she straightened her clothes and then left the loft as well.

She quickly went down two floors to where Veronica lived. It wasn't hard to tell which room belonged to the younger vampire... She had put up little stick-on bats on her door. Ana had barely knocked before the door opened. Veronica stood in the doorway wearing a frilly, black lace skirt, thigh-high pink-and-black striped stockings, black Mary Janes, and a black-and-pink brocade corset.

"Ana?" she said in surprise. Veronica looked the older vampire up and down, wrinkling her nose in distaste. "You're not wearing that out tonight, are you?"

"Veronica, I've been doing this since long before you were even born," Ana retorted. "I need a favor."

"A favor?" Veronica repeated.

"I need to borrow something to cover my arms. A pair of armwarmers or detachable sleeves will do," Ana elaborated. Veronica thought for a moment before beckoning Ana inside.

"What do you need sleeves for?" the younger vampire asked. "You usually have no sleeves, or even no straps."

Wordlessly, Ana tugged up the sleeve of her sweater and Veronica gasped.

"What did you do?" she demanded.

"That's not important. What is important is convering it until it heals," Ana replied. Veronica nodded and opened her closet. She rooted through for a few moments before pulling out a pair of elbow-length fingerless gloves made of black lace.

"Here, these should work," she said, handing them to Ana.

"Thanks, Veronica, I owe you," Ana said gratefully. Veronica waved her off.

"We have to stick together, y'know?" she replied. "Besides, you helped me out back when I was turned, so we're even."

"Thanks again, Veronica," Ana said. After bidding her friend goodbye, she hurried back up to her loft to get changed.

She looked through her closet and pulled out an old sapphire blue corset. The blue satin was overlaid with black lace, which would match the gloves she was given. She paired that with a black miniskirt and knee-high black boots. She was just putting a curl into her hair when there was a knock on the door.

"Come in!" she called. The door opened and then closed a moment later. Although Ana couldn't see who it was, she recognized the person's scent. Bain.

amara nightfire 07-06-2009 04:25 AM

Bain pulled a black button down shirt out of his closet on the edge of the shit and sleeves little blue dragons danced. He then made his way over to his dresser and pulled out a pair of dark blue jeans. Quickly throwing the two on he grabbed his wallet and slipped it into his back pocket, then ran his had threw his hair as a way to straighten it. He didn’t want to dress up but he didn’t want to let Ana down ether. She had said to get dressed into something more appropriate for clubbing…

He look down and studied his clothing choice. He figured it was better then what he had had on. He checked to make sure he had everything he needed before he made his way out the door and back over to Ana’s.

Once there he knocked on the door, quickly receiving permission to enter. He made his way threw the door and looked around to locate Ana. Not seeing her he made his way further into the apartment to find her. finally spotting her he made his way over to her and took in the site of her. it didn’t take him long to figure out how she got her ‘meals’ and honestly he wasn’t sure he liked the idea of other men looking at her in the outfit she was wearing.

He wasn’t sure where the feeling of aggression toward men that looked at her came from but he wasn’t going to fight it. He was tempted to make a comment about her changing into something a little less… reviling but knowing better he said. “the gloves are a nice touch.”

((dont worry i like the long posts ^-^))

Mageling 07-06-2009 04:44 AM

Ana saw the look that flickered over his face as he took in her outfit. She was certain she saw some anger, and even jealousy. Then she realized that he must have figured out her hunting method. Perhaps he was mad at how men must look at her...

"Thanks," she replied, setting the last curl in her hair and turning off the curling iron. "I needed something to cover the burn on my arm, so I borrowed these from Veronica." She looked over what he was wearing critically. "The blue dragon is good, the color suits you. Though red might suit you better..." Here, she sauntered up to him. "And those jeans made you look absolutely delicious," she purred.

amara nightfire 07-06-2009 05:01 AM

He had figured that was why she was wearing the gloves thought he wondered why she hadn’t just worn a long sleeve shirt? then the thought of her now owning any crossed his mind… well he’d have to fix that. long sleeve shirts would be much more… comfortable at least for him in a crowded room of horny males, at least that’s how he looked at clubs… then again there were some girls that were in question as well…

He pushed the thought aside when a picture of the girl who had hounded him the last time he was at a club entered his mind. he had been so grateful to see Ana…. Wait he was getting off track.

He was snapped back into the conversation when she mention the blue on his shirt. he rather liked the little blue dragons but if she thought he would look better in red… he would have to wear red tomorrow.

He almost shuttered when she purred, why did she have to be so sexy! It was just making his protectiveness worse! Taking a big breath to calm himself he rested his hands on her hips and pulled her body a little closer to his.

He had intended to say something… well provocative but he had caught himself. He wasn’t ready to move that far with her… not until he was fully ready to except what she was and well he didn’t want to scare her off but he was pretty sure she wasn’t one to be easily scared off.

“we should get going” he said huskily. He then removed his hands from her hips and stepped back so that she may exit first.
