Ana was surprised as Bain's reaction, especially when he pulled her closer. So, the strong silent type did feel things... When he spoke again, she could hear the husky edge to his voice, as if he'd been turned on by her. Of course, her entire hunting method involved enticing men, so perhaps he HAD been turned on by her.
Reining in her charm, she tucked a couple of just-in-case twenties into her corset and then went out the door. Already, she was making the mental transition to her more primal hunting self. She could feel her senses getting sharper: She could hear everything around her, right down to Bain's heartbeat; her vision sharpened to diamond clarity; every breath she took was saturated with the scent of humans. Even the way she moved changed: her strides became more fluid, her hips swayed a bit more, her arms swung delicately at her sides. The walk to the bar strip was painfully slow. Her instincts screamed at her every time a human passed her by, and she was hyper-aware of Bain's pulse beside her. Finally, they reached an unclaimed bar. Ana dragged her fingers delicately along the wall as they went in, subtly leaving her scent as a warning to others that the bar was claimed for the night. Once inside, she took a deep breath and was on the hunt. Lazily, she moved through the crowd, picking her way through the dancers to the men sitting along the bar. To her delight, one was sitting all by himself at the very end, near the corner. She sauntered up to him, catlike, and sat down next to him. "What's your name, stranger?" she asked smoothly. She could tell from his scent that he was already drunk, perhaps even an alcoholic. "...Jim," he finally mumbled. "What are you doing here all by your lonesome?" Ana asked, feigning sympathy. "Not even a woman to keep you company?" " ...I dun 'ave a woman," Jim slurred. Ana gave a predatory grin. "Then perhaps I can help you with that," she purred, pressing herself against him. After a bit more teasing, she got him to tilt his head, exposing his veins. Ana didn't waste any time in sinking her fangs in. She made sure not to take too much, knowing that there were more drunks and stoners around to tap. Taking her fangs out of his neck, she healed the puncture marks with a little of her own blood. "It was a pleasure meeting you, Jim. Forgive me for taking so much of your blood..." Getting up, Ana straightened her clothes and then turned around to see Bain there. Smiling seductively, she slid up to him. "Did you enjoy the show?" she asked. |
Bain followed her out of her apartment and into the streets. He kept close to her he didn’t exactly know how this was going to go down so to speak and he didn’t want to be left in the dust… or make himself an open invitation for that matter. Casting his gaze over to Ana his eyebrow raised.
Her whole body movements had changed she seemed more… seductive, stealthy… dangerous. And it wasn’t just that ether it was something about the energy around her as well that had changed. Silently he wondered if this frightened him? or turned him on. Fallowing her into the club he kept close to her until she had spotted a target and he had only really figured that out when she sauntered up to him. he took a seat a few feet away and watched with intrigue as she enticed the man to tilt his head back. The show had left him slightly aggravated. He didn’t exactly like to see her interact with other men in this way but he figured he was going to have to get used to it, especially if that was how she found her food. When she finally pulled her fangs from her victim Bain could only stare. Bain had to admit not only was he completely terrified but completely turned on as well. Something within him screamed that she was danger every instinct within him was telling him to run from this dangerous creature and every sensible thought was making him say put because he knew she wouldn’t hurt him. When she came to him his eyes watched every movement and when she spoke… he had to fight every erg not to grab her. he desperately wanted to have some contact but new better. “it was… informative” he managed to say huskily he couldn’t manage much else really he didn’t know what to say or if she would even understand the frightened yet fascinated feeling he had at the moment. |
Ana could see the pulse in Bain's neck jumping quickly, though whether from fear or something else, she couldn't tell.
"Well, then, perhaps I can give you a more... hands-on lesson later on," she crooned playfully. She ran her fingers delicately along his jaw before going off in search of her next victim. She found him wedged into a corner, brooding. She grinned to herself. She liked a challenge. She made her way over to him. "Hey," she purred. "What has you so down?" "Go away," he snarled at her. "Now, now, no need to be so angry," she placated. "Do you have a name to go with those good looks of yours?" "...Josh, now go away." "Don't be like that..." Ana sat down in his lap, surprising him. "Don't you know it's bad luck to turn down the interests of a pretty girl?" "I'm not interested," he said shortly, trying to push her away. Tilting his head up slightly, she looked into his eyes. "Tilt your head back for me, there's a good boy..." she said smoothly. It wasn't often she had to use hypnosis on someone, but when she did, she did it right. His eyes went blank as he did as she commanded. Quickly, she sank her fangs into his throat while he was still under her hypnosis. She fed more quickly than usual, probably taking a bit more than she should have in her haste before she healed the bite mark. Then she looked into his eyes again. "You had a little too much to drink tonight," she told him. "You'll wake up tomorrow with a headache and assume it's a hangover. You won't remember anything about me." "Yes..." Josh said flatly. Satisfied, Ana broke her hold on him. "It was a pleasure meeting you, Josh..." she purred. "Forgive me for taking so much of your blood..." Then she got up and straightened her clothing. She knew she would see Bain if she turned around. To be honest, she didn't mind the audience. Besides, if she hadn't scared him away yet, then he would probably stick around for a while yet. He seemed to be that kind of person. |
Bain could feel every limp he possessed quiver at her words. It had just sounded so… delicious and when she had ran her hand over his jaw… all of his nerves were put on end by that simple touch. She was so tantalizing and he could feel himself be drawn in by her, slowly he reeled himself in before he got carried away. She was after all a vampire… and one on the hunt for that matter. He had to tread lightly, no matter how much he wanted to ‘jump her bones’.
He fallowed her from a distance to watch the next victim. This one seemed different then the last, he defiantly didn’t seem all that interested, that is until Ana looked him in the eyes. he then wondered why it had never occurred to him to ask if she could control a human. The next time he had a chance he would have to ask. She was more quick with this victim and he had to wonder if it was because of his disinterest in her or if it was well because he was now being to compliant. Ether way it was a relief for him to see her move off his lap. He look his time approaching her. he didn’t exactly want to draw attention to ether of them she was after all ‘hunting’ when he finally made his way over to her he reached out and wrapped his hand around her forearm. Tugging lightly to bring her closer to him he bent down to speak in her ear. “how many do you usually feed on?” his voice was soft and he was sure no one but her had heard it. he didn’t really need to ask the question it really didn’t matter to him how many she drank from. It was more of a craving he had to just touch her. |
"Three," Ana replied, "perhaps four. Why, are you offering?" She looked up at him, seduction in every move she made. She could see his eyes widen and his pulse quicken. "I'm teasing. Give me five minutes." Gently, she pried his hand off of her arm, making sure not to hurt him, and then vanished into the crowd again. She wasn't as picky about her last 'doner' as she was with the first two, perhaps because she assumed that Bain wanted to leave.
She picked one of the now-numerous drunk men sitting at the bar. Sitting next to him, she pulled a twenty out of her bustier and bought him another drink to keep him occupied. While he was busy with the new drink, she quickly sank her fangs into his neck, not bothering to learn his name. She didn't take much from him; he'd obviously been at the bar for a while and the alcohol level in his blood was high enough that she could taste it. Quickly, she finished with him and healed the puncture wounds. Hunger sated for now, she moved away from her hunting mindset and back into her normal one. It wasn't hard for her to find Bain again. He'd been following her around all night, which kept his scent in her nose. Walking up behind him, she tapped him on the shoulder. "Ready to go?" she asked. |
Bain held back a shiver. But before he could make a smart remark she was back in the crowd. This time he let her wonder on her own as he leaned against the bar. He didn’t want to make her feel smothered by him so he waited patiently until she got back.
Felling a tap on his shoulder he turned to see Ana. He smiled down at her immediately picking up the differences in her stance. It amazed him how quickly she had changed from the intriguing girl he knew to predator. “yea” he said a little eager to get out of this atmosphere. He look her hand as he lead them to the door and out into the open air. He look a deep breath of fresh air savoring it before asking. “what would you like to do now?” |
Ana let him lead her out of the bar. It was obvious that he wanted to escape, and she really couldn't blame him. Once they got outside, she took a deep breath of the crisp night air, savoring the taste of early October.
"It's really up to you," she replied. Absently, her mind wandered ahead to the end of the month. Her original birthday was Halloween, after all... She'd be turning three hundred and thirty-seven. She didn't expect Bain to remember, of course, she'd only mentioned her birthday, and age, in passing. However, she fully expected Veronica to try to throw her a party, and that many vampires in one place was a bad idea. |
Bain turned his head to the side to study her features. He wasn’t ready to call it a night yet but he was also at a lose for what to do. Wracking his brain he could only think of a few things that could be done at this time at night and they were all activities where lots of people would be stuck in a room with alcohol.
He run a hand threw his hair and looked up at the night sky as he thought. Coming up short he decided that at least walking was a safe enough bet and it would help him think far better then sitting out side of the club where he could still hear the music playing. Reaching down he lased his fingers with hers as he took a hold of her hand. “for right now I’ll settle for a walk” He then tugged her gently in a direction as he began to walk. |
Ana smiled.
"A walk it is, then," she said as he tugged her elbow gently. She could tell that he was being careful of her burn, and for that she was grateful. She didn't want to hiss at him for something he didn't mean to do, after all. They hadn't been walking for long when Ana saw someone coming in their direction. She tensed for a moment before she realized it was Veronica. She sighed. "And here comes Veronica," she said softly to Bain. "Anaaaaa!" Veronica squealed as she approached them. Grinning, she threw her arms around the older vampire. "Ooh, you're warm, how many people did you hit tonight?" "Veronica, what are you doing here?" Ana asked instead. "I wanted to tell you about this new club that just opened on the strip!" Veronica said quickly, excited. "It's called 'In the Know', and--" That's when she noticed Bain. "Does he...?" "He's aware," Ana replied, "continue." "Okay, this bar is actually fang-friendly!" Veronica exclaimed. "Really?" Ana asked, both impressed and intrigued. |
Feeling Ana tense beside him his eyes darted for a source when he found it he himself tensed. It looked like a female figure but if Ana was tensing… he made himself relax when she whispered to him about who it was.
Stopping in his tracked Bain stayed still while the two girls conversed, not wanting to interrupt, he was however much more alert abut the conversation when he was brought into it. Hearing about the new club one of Bain’s eyebrows rose. Well that was a quick turn of events. He wondered if it would be a problem having so many vampires in one place at one time will a small crowd of humans, and he had to assume it was small, the club was new after all… right? He looked down at Ana who seemed clearly interested in this place. Sighing inwardly but smiling on the out he caught Ana’s attention. “Would you like to go check it out?” he could feel something in him quiver though he wasn’t sure what it was but he knew why. He was unused to vampires yet and he was about to be thrown right into a thicket of them. |
"I appreaciate the offer, Bain, I really do, but I'll go with Veronica later," Ana replied. "At least until I figure out if it's even a good idea for you to go. I don't want anyone to think I brought you to share." Then she turned back to Veronica. "Just how big is this club? You know too many of us in one place is just begging the hunters to find us..."
"It's not that big at all!" Veronica said quickly. "And it's, you know, neutral turf, blood-bank toss-outs, the whole nine yards!" "They're really serious about this..." Ana marvelled. "Do any fang-bangers go?" Veronica hesitated. "I don't know... It's like they have a radar or something, though, you know how they manage to find us..." Ana hissed softly. "I hate fang-bangers," she spat. "The next one that tries to seduce me is going to find out what real seduction is before I break his right arm." |
Bain almost sighed with relief. He was still new to this vampire thing and a whole building full of them didn’t sound like a good idea to him especially when she added that last part about him being shared. That did not sound good to him at all. He nodded in understanding… and thanks. Put kept quiet as she spoke to Veronica.
Upon hearing the reference ‘fang-bangers’ Bain tilted his head slightly to the side and gave Ana a weird look he was sure she hadn’t caught because she continued to speak. However his head did snap straight up when he heard the word seduce and a growl almost escaped his through, well as far as humans can go where growls are considered, but thankfully he was able to stifle it. a slight scowl was on his face when he thought of other men trying to seduce Ana, and he didn’t like it. With difficulty he removed the scowl on his face to give Ana a more friendly appearance he was after all still unsure about what he felt about her, but one this was for sure. He did not like other men around her. which he supposed was a natural male instinct… well at least he hoped that it was. Pulling himself out of his musings Bain in a low voice added a comment onto hers. “And I’ll break his left.” he was really saying more to himself but he was pretty sure she had heard it. ((Sorry it took so long!!!!! >.< Live has been hitting me hard lately and I’m trying to get on as much as possible!)) |
((bah, Sith happens sometimes, not a bit deal))
Ana laughed lightly when she heard him. "It wouldn't be hard to do so," she commented. "Fang-bangers are never what you would call 'physically fit'." "So true," Veronica added. Checking her cell phone, she gasped. "It's that late already? Jeeze, I have to run. I still need to feed, and it's already almost midnight!" "Go, then," Ana said. "You're wasting moonlight standing here chatting." "Right. Leaving. I want those gloves back!" Veronica gave Ana a quick hug before running off. |
He tried to think about what a ‘fang-banger’ would look like and he figured if they were into vampires… that probably meant that their blood was taken often leaving them weaker and most likely pale almost sickly. He had to wonder what would cause a person to willingly give their blood continually to get sex.
He almost smacked himself when the though crossed him, he figured most would be men… and well most men were only after sex. It would be the females, if there were any, that cause him slight confusion. he looked as Ana and figured it probably had something to do with looks, or the dark power that seemed to just fit in with the vampires themselves. Once Veronica was gone he asked. “so where would you like to walk to?” |
"I don't have any particular destination in mind," Ana replied as the two started walking again. "As long as we're back in time to sleep before class, everything is fine. I typically set aside nine or so hours, because I usually stay out for about eight, unless something forcibly wakes me."
As the two walked, something started to nag at Ana's mind. She remembered hypnotizing that one human at the bar, and she knew that Bain had been following her around, so he had to have seen what she did... "Bain," she spoke, after fighting with herself over it for a few minutes, "I know you saw me hypnotize that one human at the bar tonight... Did that bother you?" There were so many other meanings that she wanted to convey in that question, such as 'what did you think of it?', 'did it interest you?', and 'it's not something I do often'. However, she stayed silent, letting the question stay as it was. |
Bain nodded in agreement with her statement. He to wanted to have enough time to sleep, he had after all lost a lot of sleep since meeting her. As if the thought were tangible Bain had to stifle a yawn.
He continued to lead the way unsure of where they were headed just content to be walking along side her. his mind had thankfully gone blissfully blank and he was now drifting along enjoying a quiet evening with a friend. He wasn’t sure when he made the transition from acquaintance to friend but he felt comfortable with the word and let it go. He was however startled out of his quiet meditation when she spoke. not only had her voice startled him in the silence but the question itself seemed rather vexing. Taking a moment to think back to what she was talking about he realized that he had been right and that easy compliance had been because of hypnotization. He tilted his head back in thought. Did it bother him? no not really. He wasn’t sure why but that wasn’t the feeling he was getting from the notion that she could control her victims. After long consideration he finally answered her. tilting his head back down to look at her he said. “no it does not bother me” honestly it was an interesting prospect to him. “how does it work exactly?” |
"I've... never really thought about it, actually," Ana replied, slightly surprised at the question. "I think that the only way to properly explain how it works would be to put you under... But I wouldn't do that without your permission," she added hastily. She wouldn't break his trust like that, and hypnosis could easily lead to more serious mind-control... She'd heard of vampires searching through the minds of their victims and blood slaves, picking them apart from the inside. Although she had never personally done so, she knew that it was possible, and wasn't about to use it on Bain without his explicit permission.
As they walked, she could tell he was starting to crash and she felt bad. It was obvious that he wasn't getting the sleep he needed, and she knew that it was her fault. She felt so at ease around him that she had forgotten that his limitations and habits were different. "Why don't you go on back to your dorm?" she suggested gently. "You look like you're about to pass out, and while I could carry you back to your room, I doubt such a thing could be explained to everyone who would see it." |
Bain chuckled lightly at the thought of her carrying him to his room. He could only imagine what people would say, but that is something he would never let happen, even if he was only human and she…. Well a vampire he would never show such a weakness as sleep.
Yawning he cursed himself silently. “alright perhaps you are right” he stopped momentarily to change their direction before setting off again only to stop after taking a few feet. “I am walking you home first right?” he had automatically assumed that she would like to be walked home first, but then it had crossed him mind that the night was her time and that she might want to spend a little more time in it. |
He still wanted to walk her back? He really was a gentleman... Ana smiled, but shook her head. She could see him swaying slightly on his feet, and his eyes were slowly drooping.
"I'll be alright," she replied. "You go on back to your dorm and get some sleep. I've deprived you of it for long enough. I'll see about tracking down Veronica or Alissa or something." Grinning, she gave him a gentle push in the direction of his dorm. "Go on. I'll see you tomorow. Maybe we can meet for lunch or something." |
Frowning slightly he tried to shake himself into a more alert state then sighed, she was right after all he couldn’t keep this lack of sleep up for much longer.
“alright” he told her in a tired but playful voice “ill leave you to your nightly rounds just be careful alright.” He felt silly about saying it considering she was a vampire but he felt he needed to. It made him uneasy that she was going to be around other vampires when he wasn’t their…. Not that he would be able to protect her… and it wasn’t like she hadn’t been around other vampires before…. Chiding himself for his thought and blaming it on the little sleep he had gotten over the last week or so. Feeling slightly better with that thought he leaned in and gave her a small peck on the lips. “good night Ana” he said keeping his voice low as he was still only inches away from her. “I look forward to having lunch with you tomorrow” he then turned and proceeded to make his way down the street toward the campus. He wasn’t sure if that had been the right time and he felt sort of foolish about kissing her so quickly after they had just met but he wasn’t about to let her know that, so he kept calm as he walked away from her with a slight spring in his step. |
If Ana could have blushed, she would have. Had he really just kissed her?
"Good night, Bain," she replied softly. She watched him walk towards his dorm, and then silently followed him. May as well make sure he made it back safely... She didn't want him to unwittingly become someone's midnight snack, after all... Once she'd made sure he had made it back, she ran back to her apartment. She nearly laughed as she ran, giddy from being able to let lose and just run. In no time, she was back at her apartment. "Wow, Ana," a voice commented from behind her. Ana wasn't fazed; she recognised the voice as Veronica. "I don't think I've ever seen you actually run like that." Ana shrugged. "Nobody is out this time of night," she said. Veronica laughed. "You're right. Say, want to come to my place? I think I might have some O-negative stashed away somewhere..." Ana shook her head. "No, but thanks. I think I'm going to relax in my apartment for a while..." Then she thought of something. "I'll take some of that O-negative, though. I'm getting lunch with Bain tomorrow, and I may as well have something to drink." "Oh?" Veronica asked suggestively. Ana rolled her eyes. "It's just lunch, Veronica, nothing more," she said tartly as they went into the building. Veronica laughed and followed Ana inside. The next day, Ana sat quietly through her classes, not paying much attention. Absently, she picked at some stray threads in her jeans as she waited for her last class to end. It was only about half-past noon, and she hoped that she hadn't missed Bain. Finally, the teacher dismissed the class, and Ana made her way out of the building. She smiled when she saw Bain waiting outside for her. "Hey," she greeted. |
As Bain walked into his dorm room he made his way over to his bed and fell onto it face first, not even bothering to change. He sighed contently as he welcomed sleep. When he awoke the next morning he felt more refreshed then he had in a while. He rushed through his morning ritual then made his way out of the dorms and toward his first class
After what seemed like days his fist set of classes ended and he walked to the building he knew Ana would be in. he didn’t exactly know which classroom she was in so he waited outside hoping to catch her that way. When he finally saw her exit the building he smiled. “Hey, how was your night?” he asked once she was close enough to hear him. ((sorry its kinda short im trying to get back into the swing of things)) |
"My night was uneventful," Ana replied. "At least, if anything happened, it didn't wake me." He looked rested, which was good. She made a mental note to give him more time to sleep from now on. It seemed to be doing him good, and it really should have occurred to her earlier that he actually needed sleep, unlike her. Checking her bag to make sure her thermos was still tightly sealed, she looked back at him. "Feel like getting lunch?"
((don't worry about it. mine's short, too)) |
he nodded acknowledging her he had thought she was going to go back to the bars but it seemed like he had been wrong, for which he was grateful. He had felt bad about having to drop out on her because of his need for sleep. “Yea” he replied somewhat enthusiastically he hadn’t eaten much of a breakfast after all.
“so where would you like to go?” |
"It's completely up to you," Ana replied. "I brought my own lunch, so to speak." To prove her point, she pulled out her thermos. Veronica hadn't had the O-negative that she thought she did, so Ana had made a quick early-morning trip to pick some up. At least that way, it wouldn't be quite so uncomfortable between them. "If anyone asks, I am on a special diet for my health."
