"I don't use water pumps where I'm from." Lucina huffed, embaressed that Adrian had seen her mistake. "I'm suppose to be making clouds not pouring water into a bucket." She sighed as she moved on to the next stall.

Chuckling Adrian leaned back against the post and crossed his legs upon the door, "Lu, love, I 'ave a feelin' we'll be teachin' ye a great many new things 'round th' farm durin' yer stay."

Lucina scowled as she continued to pour the water to the animals, her embaressment showing as anger as she huffed out of the barn and back to the pump. Putting her fingers to her forehead to shake the embaressment, Lucina pumped more water into the bucket before making her way back to the barn with the bucket in hand, never looking Adrian in the eyes.

Hopping down from the door, Adrian sighed as he walked over to her and put his arms around her waist. Resting his chin on her shoulder, Adrian placed a gentle kiss on her cheek, "Lu, don't be like tha'.. Ye've only been 'ere a couple o' days! Ye'll get th' hang o' it. Just give it time."

Lucina sighed as she poured more water into an animal's trough. "I don't like doing things wrong." Lucina scowled before slipping out of Adrian's embrace and moving on to the next stall, hiding her face from Adrian through a veil of blond hair.

"Lucina, how d' ye expect t' learn if ye don't do things wrong?! You can' do ev'rythin' right th' first time! Haven't ye learned tha' yet?" said Adrian helplessly as he leaned back against one of the stall doors, "Lu, in order t' learn 'n' succeed, ye need failures. It's a part o' life, a part o' growin' up 'n' becomin' an adult."

"I know I have to make mistakes." Lucina sighed, rolling her eyes. She was two hundred and fifty years old, she knew something about 'growing up'. "That doesn't mean I have to like making mistakes." Lucina sighed as she finished giving the animals water and brought the bucket back to the water pump before returning to Adrian.
"I'm sorry." She sighed, knowing she'd get no where if she argued with him. "I shouldn't have been so rude." She said nervously as she took one of his hands in her own. |
Giving her hand a light squeeze, Adrian simply nodded before brushing pass her and cleaning the floor in the storage room. "Lu, let's jus' ferget it, alright? I don' want t' fight with ye. I'm sorry I teased ye."

"Adrian." Lucina sighed, reaching out to take his hand. "I overreacted and I'm sorry. I just was embarressed. I shouldn't have acted so poorly. Please don't be angry." She said softly, scared that she'd lost the one thing that made life as a mortal tolerable.

Taking her hand and bringing it to his lips, Adrian offered her a small smile, "It's alright, love, don' fret yer pret'y lit'le head, I'm not angry with ye." Placing a tender kiss upon her lips, Adrian smiled, "Why don' ye head inside 'n' see if mum's up 'n' if she needs any help. I'll finish up here 'n' be in in a bit."

"Alright." Lucina said, placing a kiss on Adrian's cheek. Giving him a warm smile, Lucina disappeared and returned to the house, taking off her shoes at the door. "Shinorah?" She called as she wandered into the kitchen.

Lori rolled her eyes as she looked at Lucina, "She's not in 'ere, she's in th' livin' room sweepin'. What d' ye want, aren't ye supposed t' be helpin' Adrian? 'r did ye mess it up so bad he sent ye back in t' try a hand a' cleanin'?"

Lucina bit the inside of the cheek to keep herself in check, not wanting to upset Adrian anymore as she made her way to the living room with the taste of blood in her mouth. "Hello, Shinorah." She said warmly to the Irish woman. "I wanted to thank you for the dresses." She said happily, swirling once for her. "Do you need any help?" She offered, forgetting about Lori and her hideous attitude.

Shinorah beamed with pride as she looked over Lucina, "Ye look gorgeous, love! I'm glad ye like th' dresses. I'll make ye another after we get this cleanin' done. If ye don' mind, can ye go around with a wet cloth 'n' dust everythin'?"

"Of course." Lucina smiled as she made her way to the kitchen and ran a cloth under the cool water, humming lightly to herself.

After she'd finished the kitchen, Lori smirked as she put her cloth in the sink to wash, "Mum's got ye doin' dustin'? Be sure not t' break anythin' alright? It might set Adrian off," she added simply as she wrung out the cloth and put it in with the rest of the wet laundry before going outside to hang it out to dry.
Just as Lori was heading out, Adrian came in. Heading into the kitchen to grab an apple, Adrian placed a tender kiss upon Lucina's cheek, "Mum already put ye t' work? Guess she really wants ye t' go t' th' festival t'night." |
"Guess so." Lucina smiled through her scowl. Lori was an awful brat and Lucina fought to bite her tongue to keep from saying so. Not wanting Adrian to be upset with her for being rude again, Lucina turned to Adrian and placed a small kiss on his lips before returning to the living room to dust.

Adrian sighed as he followed her and sat in his usual chair to read the newspaper while eating, knowing full well something was going on but he'd wait until later to ask her about it.
Shinorah laughed as she saw Adrian lounging, "What're ye doin' loungin', Adrian love? Ye still got tha' squeaky door t' fix. Once ye fix that 'n' th' window upstairs ye can relax 'n' Lucina 'n' I 'll bake ye some cookies, alright?" Adrian laughed as he folded the paper and finished his apple, "Fine, fine, ye win. I'll be back in a bit. Will ye make oatmeal?" "O' course, love. Raisins or chocolate chips?" "Whichever ye have more of is fine," said Adrian with a smile as he headed outside to give the horse the apple core before grabbing his tools to fix his mother's bedroom door and Lori's window. |
Lucina sighed as she wiped the surfaces of the living room to rid them of dust. Moving to the mantle of the fireplace, Lucina rubbed away the dust roughly before returning to the kitchen and rinsing out the cloth.
Having washed the cloth, Lucina wrung it out before turning to Shinorah. "Is there any other rooms you want me to dust?" She asked. |
"If ye want t', ye can go 'n' dust th' upstairs. Lori finished the rest o' th' downstairs this mornin'. Just make sure ye be careful dustin' round where Adrian's working, he doesn't know yer comin' up so ye'll wanna watch where he's swinging wood 'round, for he's surely not goin' t' pay attention," Shinorah added with a laugh.

"Alright." Lucina smiled warmly as she walked up the stairs and entered her room, dusting quickly then folding the cloth before moving on to Adrian's room and began to dust again.

Finishing up the door in his mother's room, Adrian headed over to Lori's room to fix the window, not realizing that Lucina was upstairs nor that she was in his room, not that it mattered that she was in there anyways.

Lucina supressed a yawn as she moved on to Shinorah's room and then, reluctantly, to Lori's. Knocking on the door quietly to let Adrian know she was there, Lucina moved to Lori's dresser and began to dust.

Looking over his shoulder, Adrian smiled, "'ello love, ye alright? Ye seem... tense, t' say th' least," she said softly as he continued his work, rebuilding the window frame and window casing. Laying the glass on the bed, Adrian walked over to Lucina and wrapped his arms around her waist, resting his chin lightly on her shoulder, "Sum'thin's wrong, tell me wha' it is?"

"I just don't like having to hold my tongue around Lori." Lucina sighed as she continued to dust the dresser. "She's awful and its only going to get worse when she finds out about us." She sighed as she stopped dusting to lean back against Adrian. "I know not to say anything back but its getting harder." She admitted shyly.
