Adrian smiled as he held the fish in one hand, held Lucina close with the other, and looked down at his fiancee; fiancee... he rather liked the sound of that. Placing a tender kiss upon her forehead, Adrian whispered softly, "I love ye too. Now, will ye tell me wha's wrong?" he added softly as he placed a tender kiss just below her eye upon her cheek, kissing away the small tear that trickled from her eye, "D' ye want t' go home?"
"No." Lucina whispered softly. "I want to stay here." She said as she held Adrian closer to her and buried her face in his shirt. "With you." She added quietly, though she wasn't sure if Adrian could hear her under the applause of the crowd as the firebreathers ended their performance.
Staying close to Adrian as the crowd filtered away from the stage, Lucina watched carefully for the red haired Goddess who had seemed to disappear along with the crowd. |
"Lu, I'm not goin' anywhere withou' ye. Please, tell me wha's wrong. Did sum'one say sumthin' t' ye?" Adrian asked as he gently caressed her back with his fingertips, holding her close and following her gaze into the crowd, wondering what she could be looking for.
"No." Lucina said quietly, giving up her search as she realized everyone had left except for her and Adrian. "Let's go back." She sighed as she took Adrian's hand in her own and led im away from the festival.
Adrian nodded as he placed a tender kiss upon her forehead, "O' course, love. We can see th' fireworks from th' house, if ye like. I'm afraid mum 'n' Lori won' be home, though. They tend t' stay th' night a' me grandmother's house so they're early fer th' festival t'morrow. Would ye like t' go into th' city 'n' stay there? 'r would ye rather go home t' th' farm?" Adrian asked softly, afraid she'd feel uneasy about them being in the house alone, even though he knew nothing was going to happen between them.
"I don't want to stay here." Lucina said quickly, a sense of dread filling her as she led Adrian out of the festival and back onto the path they'd taken into the city. "If you don't mind that is." Lucina added shyly, sensing his unease though she had no intention of staying in the city.
Adrian nodded as he shifted the fish bowl into a better position so he could hold Lucina closer without spilling the water and fish over the side, "O' course not, love. If ye wish t' go home, then we shall. I don' like ye lookin' so frightened," he added softly, "Are ye sure ye don' want t' talk? This is th' last time I'll ask, I promise.. I'm jus' worried, is all, Lu.. But if ye don' want t' talk, I understan'."
"Yeah, Lu." Lucina heard a voice laugh as the red haired woman from earlier stepped in their path. "He'll understand." She said with a girlish laugh as Lucina stepped defensively in front of Adrian. "Now, now. There's no need to get upset. I just want to visit." She smiled coyly at Adrian.
"You shouldn't be here, Kaylynn" Lucina hissed angrily, her blood boiling. "Neither should you but that temper you have is very nasty." Kaylynn laughed as her long white dressed flowed around her gracefully. "You always did have such nice taste." She grinned over Lucina's shoulder at Adrian. |
Adrian looked at Lucina carefully before looking at the redheaded woman before them, "Lu? Who's this girl? Is this th' one she...?" Adrian trailed off, answering his own question. This must be the girl the gypsy woman spoke of. Lucina didn't know anyone in Ireland, and for her to know this woman, it had to be her.
Wrapping his arms around Lucina protectively, Adrian looked at the woman before him with a glare in his eyes, a glare he found was hard to keep towards her as he looked at her. "W-What d' ye want with Lu?" he stammered, immediately mentally chastising himself for being a dolt and stammering. But he couldn't help it, he found her mesmerizing. But why was he feeling like this? He loved Lucina, he wanted to spend his entire life with her, so why was his heart and brain suddenly being pushed aside and something else starting to take over? |
"I just want to talk." Kaylynn pouted, fighting back a smile at how easily she could manipulate the small human boy. "She's always so mean." She said softly as she took a step forward.
"Stay away from him." Lucina said, her voice nothing more then a whimper. "Adrian." Kaylynn sighed, her voice like music. "Will you talk to me?" She smiled innocently. |
"Ye know me name?" Adrian asked in disbelief. Shaking his head to clear it, Adrian shook his head no, "No, I'm afraid I mus' be gettin' home. Perhaps another time," Adrian said as he led Lucina passed the woman in front of them and headed down the road towards their farm.
"But Adrian." Kaylynn said, her voice so seductive that it was known for bringing mortal men to their knees. Following after the couple, Kaylynn ran her finger along Adrian's shoulder and stepped in front of them. "We've only just met. Why would you want to leave so soon?" She asked, subtly moving Lucina aside who's tears were starting to well.
"That's enough." Lucina said angrily pushing Kaylynn aside, her tears streaming over. "For now." Kaylynn grinned before disappearing into the forest behind them. |
Coming out of his daze, Adrian looked down at Lucina and wiped the tears from her cheeks, "Lu, don' cry love. She's gone now, everythin's alright. I'm still here," he murmured softly against her cheeks as he kissed the remaining tears from her cheeks and eyes before placing a long, tender kiss upon her lips for assurance that he still loved only her.
Lucina felt herself crumble under his touch, wrapping both arms around his neck and buried her face in the base of his neck. "Let's go back now." She softly before placing a small kiss against the base of his neck and wrapping her arms around his waist before beginning down te path again.
Adrian held her close as he gently caressed her back as they headed for home, "Lu, are ye sure yer goin' t' be alright? Ye sure ye don' want me t' get mum t' stay with ye fer th' nigh'?" he added softly as he placed a tender kiss upon her temple, "I love ye Lu, I jus' wan' ye t' feel safe 'n' be sure yer alrigh'.."
"Won't you be there?" Lucina asked, confused as she figured that Adrian made her feel plenty safe. "I'll be fine if you stay with me." She assured him as she rested her head against his chest. "She just startled me." Lucina added quietly.
"No' fer a bit, love," Adrian explained softly, "I must take care o' th' animals first, then I'll be in after I wash up. If ye insist yer alrigh', then I'll leave supper t' ye while I tend th' animals," he added softly as he placed a kiss upon her head, "I love ye Lu, never ferget tha', alrigh'?"
"I'm fine." Lucina assured him as they approached the house. Standing on her toes at the doorstep, Lucina wrapped her arms and gave Adrian a long kiss. "I love you too." She smiled against his lips. "Let me make supper. I want to learn." She said quietly.
Adrian nodded as he placed a tender kiss upon her lips, "If ye need any help, 'r are confused on anythin', come 'n' ask me; I'll help ye if ye need it," he added with a smile and another kiss before heading out to the barns to feed the animals, give them water, and milk the cow.
Lucina smiled excitedly as she made her way into the kitchen and rummaged through the cupboards for something to cook. Spotting a box of pasta, Lucina read the directions on the side before putting on water to boil and scanning through recipes in Shinorah's cookbooks.
After dumping the stale water, Adrian refilled the buckets with fresh, cool water before beginning to add new hay and feed to their stalls and troughs respectively.
Lucina cursed the knife, quite loudly in fact, as she cut the bell pepper for the confetti pasta. "Stupid human death trap!" She yelled at the metal blade as she washed her bleeding finger under the water before continuing to chop up the pepper and tossing the dice in a small pan. Still cursing under her breath, Lucina drained the pasta and poured it into a small bowl before beginning to stir the bell peppers.
After throwing out the more burnt pieces, Lucina dumped the peppers into the pasta with a small swirl of olive oil and began to mix. Looking triumphantly at their dinner and tossing the cursed knife into the sink, Lucina set out plates and silverware as she sucked on her sore fingers that had been cut multiple times by the human death trap. |
Finishing the chores, Adrian headed to the pump outside the house and washed up before heading inside and taking off his boots. "Dinner smells amazin' Lu," he said softly as he walked over to her with a smile, wrapping his arms around her waist and placed a tender kiss upon her lips when he reached her. Noticing her fingers, Adrian took her hand in his, his fingers gently tracing the small cuts with his fingertips. Giving each cut a tender kiss before placing another kiss upon Lucina's lips, Adrian inquired softly between kisses, "Lu, me girl, what did ye do t' yer poor fingers?"
"That wretched human cutting torture device." Lucina huffed as she motioned to the knife. "Why would mortals even want that?" She asked as the anger seeped out of her through her rant. "I just wanted to cut peppers and it attacked me." She said with a small pout on her lips.
Capturing her adorable pout in his lips, Adrian placed a tender kiss upon her lips as he explained with a smile, "Lu, love, we don' 'ave magic, we're no' able t' cut things 'n' slice things a' will. We need sharp items, like knives, t' cut our food so we can civilly eat it. Would ye rather me rip into a piece o' meat with me bare hands 'n' teeth?" he teased with another kiss, "I can't imagine ye takin' any pleasure 'n' seein' me act like a savage beast when I eat."
