Adrian blushed as he nodded, "Aye, but tha' would mean ye've fallin' in love with me."
Lucina felt her face blush a brilliant red. "I was just using a saying." She said. "I've only just met you. I just...I thought that you wanted to at least try and be together while I'm here." Lucina said shyly, dropping her hand from Adrian's face and taking a step back. "I-I'm sorry. I shouldn't have assumed anything." She said before brushing past Adrian and hurrying back to her room.
Slamming his fist against the door frame before following Lucina to her room, Adrian sighed as he opened the door, not even bothering to knock. "Lucina, I don' know how much more o' this back 'n' forth I can take. Make up yer mind, please! D' ye, 'r d' ye not, want t' be with me. Lu, I need t' know flat out if ye do 'r not, I tired of trying t' guess. Ye change yer mind so often, I can' keep up.."
Lucina felt her temper start to rise after the guilt subsided from Adrian's outburst. "Of course I want to be with you!" She hissed angrily. "I don't know how often I have to spell it out for you. Honestly, after this afternoon how on earth would you think otherwise? Do you have any idea how hard it is to want to be with you when only seconds ago your mother mentioned how you needed someone to be with you for longer then a year?" She asked, crossing her arms defensively over her chest. "Its been over a century since I've wanted someone as bad as I want you so why don't you just stop yelling at me and kiss me already?" She asked, her face softening somewhat.
Wrapping his arm around her waist as his other hand caressed her cheek, Adrian smiled as he placed a light kiss upon her nose. "Lu, if I know me mum, she only said tha' 'cause she sensed how ye felt 'n' wanted t' challenge 'em t' see if ye really did care fer like ye seemed t' in 'er eyes." Placing a tender kiss upon her lips, Adrian whispered, "Are ye sure ye want a silly ol' mortal like me?"
Lucina leaned into Adrian's form as she wrapped her arms around his neck to brush their noses together lightly. "I'm sure." Lucina smiled as she pressed her lips softly against Adrian's as the storm subsided outside. "Are you sure you want to risk getting your sister upset over me?" She asked shyly as she rested her forehead against Adrian's.
Placing a long, tender kiss upon her lips, Adrian smiled, "Positive. I'd give anythin' t' be with ye, Lu. I want t' spend as much time as we can t'gether, however limited it may be. Nothin's goin' t' change tha', I promise."
"Even if I'm over two hundred years older then you?" Lucina teased as she eagerly returned his kisses, her guilt from before having faded.
Adrian smiled as he continued to kiss her. "Even if yer two hundred years older than me, love," he whispered between kisses.
Lucina smiled against Adrian's lips as one of her hands slid into his hair while the other pressed against his upper back. "Perfect." She whispered softly before giving Adrian another soft kiss, sucking gently on his bottom lip before kissing him fully.
Pulling back slightly, Adrian sighed and rested his forehead against hers, "I'd prob'ly bet'er go.. Ye prob'ly want t' sleep 'n' don' want Lori seein' ye with me," he added as he placed a light kiss upon her nose.
"You're right about the sleeping part." Lucina smiled. "I'm not so sure if I'd cared if Lori saw us." She shrugged. "Good night, Adrian." Lucina said as she gave Adrian a last kiss before unwrapping herself from Adrian's embrace before turning back to her bed and slipping under the covers.
Pausing at the door frame, Adrian smiled back at her, "G'night Lu, sleep well." With that, he shut the door behind him and headed back to his room for another hour or two of reading before going to bed.
Lucina smiled as she ran her fingers over her lips which still tingled from their kisses. Sighing with content, Lucina closed her eyes and fell into a deep sleep with dreams filled Adrian and her home.
The next morning, Adrian woke Lori up and asked her to go start breakfast for their mother, who was still sleeping from having made three dresses for Lucina the previous evening. Taking the dresses to Lucina's room, Adrian knocked on the door and called softly, "Lu? Mum 'as three dresses ready. Ye up yet?"
Lucina groaned quietly into her pillow before getting up from the bed, staggering slightly. "I'm up." She said softly as she ran her fingers through her hair quickly before opening the door. "Morning." Lucina smiled, rubbing the sleep from her eyes.
Handing her the dresses, Adrian snuck a kiss on her cheek before shoving his hands in his front pockets and smiling a shy smile at her, "Mornin'. If th' dresses need any alterin', let mum know when she wakes up. She prob'ly won' be up for quite a few hours, though. I told Lori not t' wake 'er. 'n' withou' someone t' wake her, mum doesn't get up early," he added with a chuckle, "Breakfast'll be ready in jus' a bit. Would ye like t' help me in th' barn again this mornin'?"
"Sure." Lucina smiled, her cheek warm where Adrian had kissed her. She couldn't help but notice how incredibly adorable he was when he was shy. Pushing the thought from her mind, Lucina stood on her toes and rested her hand on his shoulder to give him a tender kiss. "I'll be down in a bit." Lucina smiled as she stood back on her feet and brought her hand from his shoulder.
Giving him a small smile, Lucina shut her door and changed quickly into one of her new dresses. She felt bad that Shinorah had tired herself out making the dresses but as Lucina twirled in a mirror she felt beautiful. |
Shaking his head softly to clear it and remove the blush from his cheeks, Adrian couldn't keep a smile off of his face as he went down to breakfast.
"Is th' Princess comin' down?" she asked icily before setting a third place. Eying her, Adrian replied softly, "Aye, Lucina is comin' fer breakfast. Now hush up tha' mouth o' yers. Didn' Da teach ye bet'er than tha'?" Lori blushed crimson as she set the third place and began serving the breakfast of toast, marmalade, and slices of ham tucked inside each omelet. Adrian sighed as he poured milk for everyone, making sure Lucina's had a bit of cream in it before sitting down and beginning his meal. "Am I cleanin' in th' house 'r am I cleanin' th' barn?" "I'd appreciate ye gettin' a head start on th' cleanin' in 'ere while mum's asleep. Be careful not t' wake 'er, alright? 'n' cook somethin' fer 'er fer breakfast when she wakes up." "Sure thing. Is the Pr-I mean, is Lucina helping you in th' barn?" "Thank you. 'n' aye, Lucina is goin' t' feed th' animals, put th' beddin' down, 'n' milk Beth while I go about cleanin' th' stalls 'n' such." |
Lucina smiled into the mirror as she washed her face before heading out of her room and walking to the kitchen. "Morning." Lucina said politely, not wanting to argue with Lori, as she sat in her chair and took a sip of her milk and smiled at the sweet taste before beginning to eat her breakfast.
"Mornin'," mumbled Lori as she quickly ate her breakfast.
"Lori, slow down," Adrian chided as he continued eating his breakfast, "Lu, while Lori does th' cleanin' in here, would you mind helpin' me in th' barn? I just need ye t' milk Beth, feed th' animals, 'n' help lay th' beddin' out after I get th' stalls cleaned." |
"I don't mind." Lucina said happily as she directed her attention at Adrian rather then Lori. "As long as Lori doesn't mind me not helping in the house." Lucina said, knowing fully well that Lori would want her out of the house as much as Lucina wanted to be in the barn with Adrian.
Lori forced a smile at Lucina as she continued eating her breakfast, "No, not a' all. Mum'll help me when she wakes up before she starts slavin' over yer dresses again."
"Lori. Ye know very well tha's not true. Ye know mum would 'ave done th' same fer you had it been you in need o' th' dresses." |
Lucina narrowed her eyes at Lori, her temper rising. "Which would've been very kind of her considering I wouldn't expect anyone else to extend the same courtesy to you." SHe hissed as she popped a piece of omelet in her mouth.
"Lucina, stop," Adrian chided as Lori picked up her meal and took it to the kitchen, holding her tongue so she didn't anger Adrian.
Adrian sighed as he looked at Lucina, "Lu, Lori's tryin'.. Don' be so hard on 'er." |
