THAT made Glory want to bang her head against a wall. Great.
Promise me you'll try not to get too drunk. There are sirens out there. I nearly got drowned by one today. Hopefully, Selena would take the warning seriously. |
Selena's response was much quicker this time. It didn't seem like she was taking the warning too seriously.
We'll be fine. No one's going swimming. |
Glory face-palmed and groaned softly.
No, I mean old-school siren songs. Like lure-people-into-the-water siren songs. She sighed. If Selena didn't take her seriously, there wasn't anything she could do about it. |
Again, Selena took the warning lightly.
The music's too loud for me to even think! I doubt we'll hear some silly fish song over it. |
Glory groaned again, a bit aggrevated.
Then I hope for your sake you can't hear anything over the music. I'm being paranoid with good reason. Be quiet coming back, Viktor is crashed in our room. If Selena wouldn't listen to her, then she just hoped that Léan's father really had left the area. Elsewise, that boat might not be coming back. |
Selena didn't feel the need to grace that with a response. She wasn't feeling worried about much, due to the alcohol in her system.

"I'll try not to be too surprised if she makes it back in one piece," Glory muttered as she slipped her phone into her pocket. "She won't listen when I try to give her a warning, and if something happens..."

Viktor was curled up on the couch, looking amused.
Léan was wide-awake, and watching her with concern. "She isn't taking your warnings seriously?" he asked, dryly. It seemed he'd anticipated that much. |
"Of course not, why would she?" Glory asked dryly. "Apparently, a bunch of them are taking a boat out onto the water to keep partying."

"As much as I am worried about my father...their music is quite loud, so it might block him out...I just hope no one goes swimming," Léan sighed, lowering his head.

"She said they wouldn't go swimming, but she also sounded drunk," Glory replied. "There were enough spelling errors to tell me that." She sighed a bit. "I'll stay up until she gets back. She probably won't even be able to walk a straight line by then, so she'll need someone to help her stumble to bed. You go on to sleep."

Léan sighed and nodded, though he was still nervous. He curled back up into a ball on the bottom of the tank, and had drifted off in no time. This time, he didn't sing in his sleep, though he did mumble.
Viktor had fallen asleep while they'd been talking, and he seemed like he was out like a light. |
Glory curled up with her book again, only keeping on one light, just enough to read by comfortably. She didn't know how long she sat there reading, but she didn't have to get up to wake Léan from a nightmare or anything, so she just kept reading quietly.

There was knocking on the door about an hour later. It seemed Selena was back. There were a few bumps outside, as well. She couldn't walk or stand up fully straight.

Quietly, Glory got up and opened the door.
"Come on, you," she said softly to Selena. "Let's get you to bed before you pass out." |
Selena stumbled a bit, then made her way inside. She looked tired. Thankfully, she managed to make it to her bed, and collapse on it, without making too much noise. "Aahh..."

"Go on to sleep," Glory murmured. "You look like you could use it." Once she was sure that Selena wouldn't fall and break her neck or something, she set out some water and Tylenol. She knew that Viktor and Selena would both want it in the morning. Once that was done, she clicked off the light and went to sleep herself.

Viktor was the first to wake up in the morning, but not of his own volition. He'd been inching ever-so-much closer to the edge of the sofa while he slept. At eight in the morning, finally, he rolled over off the side of the sofa and landed on the floor with a thud.

Glory woke up at the thump and looked over blearily. When she saw Viktor getting up off the floor, she rolled over and went back to sleep. It was too early to be up with how late she stayed up the night before.

Viktor groaned, rubbing his head. "Ugh...man, that hurt..."
Léan had woken with a start when Viktor fell off, as had the shark, which was just settling down from flailing. He yawned, as well, but didn't settle down to go back to sleep. He had a strange feeling about something. Selena didn't even wake up. She'd been totally smashed last night. |
Glory woke up again when Viktor muttered to himself, and gave up on going back to sleep. She'd nap later in the day or something. Sitting up, she rubbed her eyes.

Viktor rubbed his head for a moment more before sitting down on the sofa. "What happened last night...?"
Léan was tempted to make up an amazing story about last night's events to befuddle Viktor, but he held his tongue. He had a wickedly amused smirk on his face, though. |
"Don't you dare," Glory said to Léan. Then she looked at Viktor. "Apparently, you and Curry both got absolutely smashed, he got pissed off for some reason, and you crashed in here for the night."

Léan grumbled, and he had something akin to a childlish pout gracing his features. It only made him look adorable under the water.
"Oh...yeah, I remember, now. I better go see if he's done freakin' out...got any painkillers?" Viktor asked, sheepishly. "I've got a headache that could take down an elephant, here." |
Glory pointed to the nightstand, where two sets of water and painkillers were set out.
"Already a step ahead of you," she said. She couldn't help but grin at the look on Léan's face. He just looked so cute. |
