"And you trusted him?" Léan asked dryly, motioning to Viktor.

Viktor had walked back out and was drying himself off. He was whining about how he'd have to wake Curry up anyway so he could get dry clothes.

"Would you rather I'd dropped you?" Glory countered. "He's stronger than I am. I know that. And I did say it was up to you."

Léan nodded, though he was scowling, and settled down into the suitcase. "I'm ready to go."

"Alright," Glory replied. Carefully, she zipped the suitcase up most of the way and started making her way down to the pool. Once she found it, she locked the door behind her and unzipped the suitcase again. "Just let me test the pH of the pool to see if there's any chlorine in it, and then we'll be all set."

Léan poked his head out of the suitcase, curious as always. "All right...though I'm not quite sure what the is..." he muttered, as an afterthought. "Carry on."

"The pH balance of the water tells me how acidic it is, or isn't. Chlorine is basic, so if the water has a balance of more than seven, it still has some chlorine in it," Glory explained as she found the testing supplies. Taking a sample of the water, she tested it real quick. 7.1...

"Alright, it should be alright," she said. " Just be careful, alright?"

Léan nodded, then slid himself out of the suitcase. Compared to how he looked in the tank...he looked so out of place on land, even though his tail still shone a bit. He recoiled at how strange the stone felt and looked at her, hoping she'd pick him up. He didn't want to scrape any scales off of his tail by dragging himself.

Glory wasn't sure how she knew why he stopped, but she did. Gently, she picked him up and set him at the edge of the pool. Taking off her shorts and shirt so she was just in her bathing suit, she sat down next to him, dangling her feet in the pool.

Léan shuffled forward and then slid into the pool, dipping underwater at once. The small bit of chlorine that was in the water didn't seem to bother him, and he dove to the bottom, drenching himself in the water. The water was much, much clearer than the water in the ocean outside, and it was easier to see him.

((Bed-time...need to pack for a day-trip to the ocean on Monday, and need sleep.))

Grinning, Glory slid into the pool after him. Taking a deep breath, she ducked under the water and looked around. It was clearer than she was used to, but she was also used to the beach back home, which was murkier.

Léan resurfaced after a moment, floating on his back. He was surprised, as well, at how clear the water is. It was something he certainly wasn't used to, having lived in the ocean, semi-murky, all his life.

Grinning, Glory went over to him and dunked him and then backed away, giggling.

Léan's tail swished back and forth, playfully, and he returned the favor in less than three seconds.

Glory laughed as she came up for air.

"Feels just like at home," she said.

"Except, the water isn't freezing and there aren't crabs lining the bottom..." Léan hummed, pointedly.

"True," Glory said. Grinning, she splashed some water at him, and then ducked underwater for as long as she could to avoid getting splashed back.

Léan waited for her to resurface, patiently. He would splash her when she came back up.

Finally, Glory couldn't hold her breath any longer and came up to take another one. She was ready for him to splash her, though.

Léan splashed her at once, grinning. He was happy to be in deep, semi-open water again. It felt more like home...the tank felt more like a cage.

"You look much more relaxed now," Glory said. "I'm glad. And we'll be heading home soon, so things should go back to normal then."

Léan swished his tail back and forth, lazily. "Mm-hm. I think we will have to scare my father off. If I get into it with him, one of us is going to end up dead. I want to try and avoid that."

"Well, at home I can get my hands on a decent set of earplugs," Glory pointed out. "Which I've been trying to get my hands on for three days and somehow I can't find any on this island."

Léan nodded, closing his eyes. "True. And don't forget, we still have to try and desensitize your Nana to the song of a siren, in case my father tries something...by the way, if I haven't told you already, his name is Betelgeuse."

Glory blinked. That had be the most bizarre thing yet.

"Really?" she asked.

"Indeed." Léan studied her expression a little more closely. "...? Is that a peculiar name in the human world? I don't see anything strange with it."
