This time, Léan did clam up, cheeks flushing bright pink. But, it was a different kind of clamming up. Instead of freezing up, he simply looked quite embarrassed...and quite happy. His tail swished back and forth of its own accord.
Glory blushed brightly as well.
"S-sorry," she said. She noticed he didn't push her away, though. |
"Erm...it's...all right," Léan managed, thankfully not stuttering. "I...I didn't mind...it..."
"R...really?" Glory was surprised. Hesitantly, she kissed him again, still blushing.
Léan jumped a bit, tail swishing back and forth beneath him, but didn't pull away.
((Bed-time...got some bad sunburn and I'd better sleep it off. :( )) |
((kk. sleep well~!))
Glory broke the kiss, still blushing. She had kind of wanted him to return the kiss, but it didn't surprise her when he didn't. It took him more than an entire summer to even hug her, after all... But she couldn't help but be a little disappointed, though she didn't let it show. |
((Strike that--just can't sleep. :3))
Léan had been trying to work up to it, but it wasn't easy. It seemed like he'd almost reached that point. |
((lol, i'm heading to bed in a few minutes. it's two in the morning where i am))
For the moment, Glory told herself to just be content in his arms. She knew that was probably the best she would get for a while, so she may as well enjoy it. |
Léan was silent for a few long moments. "...Can...we try it again?" he asked finally, meekly. "I...I was almost there...almost able to respond...I think I'll be able to..."
Glory blushed again. Did he really enjoy it that much? She wasn't that great a kisser, after all, as far as she knew... She hesitated for a moment, not sure if he would back out at the last second, and then kissed him a third time.
Léan hesitated for a few seconds, but then finally brought himself to respond, after snapping at himself a few times, mentally. His movements were hesitant, amateur.
Glory's heart skipped a beat when he returned the kiss, even though it was soft and hesitant. She could feel her heart pounding as she finally pulled away again.
"I think we both need some practice," she teased gently. |
Léan was in pretty much the same state, though he was, of course, a bit...clammier. He was trying not to clam up again. "Perhaps we do..." he teased back, scratching his head absently.
"Your brother will never let us hear the end of it, you know," Glory said as she cuddled into his arms a bit. "Even if we don't tell him, I get the feeling he'll just know, somehow."
"Oh, he will. Trust me. He has an uncanny knack for knowing everything that goes on with my life. It makes me think he can read minds sometimes." Léan shuddered, though he continued to hold her.
"Oh good, I'm not the only one who thought that," Glory said, referring to reading-minds comment. "Granted, he knows what goes through YOUR head because he's your twin, but still."
"I should be able to understand what's going on through his head, but I don't. I don't think anyone does," Léan huffed, frowning. "It's a tornado inside his skull."
"I never said it worked both ways," Glory pointed out. Their conversation was almost back to normal, if one ignored the fact that he still had his arms around her, and she didn't mind a bit.
"It isn't fair," Léan grumbled, huffily. "I would like to understand what runs through his mind. Perhaps then I'd anticipate his teasing and dunking and be able to turn the tables. But alas, I'm cut off from his mind."
"You'd eventually miss it, though," Glory said. "If he suddenly stopped. You'd miss it."
Léan grumbled some more, not answering her. He'd miss it after two months or so. Until then, it would be a vacation. Absently, his tail started up again underwater.
"You know I'm right," Glory said, teasing him a bit. She rested her head on his shoulder, relaxed.
"Partially," Léan admitted, dryly. He, without realizing it, gently rested his head against hers. He closed his eyes, happy to be in deeper water. The tank was better than no water, but it was still cramped...even more so with the shark in it.
Glory could tell he was much more comfortable in the more open water of the pool, though it was nothing compared to being back outside.
"We head home the day after tomorrow," she said softly. "Things will be back to normal then." |
"Not fully. We will always have to have our guards up, at least a bit. My father is a relentless man and will come back several times," Léan warned. He paused. "...How long has it been since Damon, er...became the way he is?"
