"Hm...no, nothing..." Léan mused. "I'll think about it for a while. Maybe something will occur to me after I think about it..." He fell silent, closing his eyes and simply enjoying the company.
Grinning, Glory leaned up and gave him a kiss.
"I wanted to do that earlier," she murmured, "but there wasn't a good time." |
Léan hesitated, having not expected it, but returned it willingly enough. "I suppose not." He paused. "We can do human things, now that I can hide my tail in public, if you want to go out and do something...unless you want to stay here."
"What did you have in mind?" Glory asked. There wasn't much to do in town, they would probably have to head back into the city for some things.
"Er...nothing, actually. I don't know much about the human world, remember. The only things I did while I was up on land before were go to an amusement park and hang around the beach...what is there to do?" Léan countered curiously, tilting his head.
"Hm..." Glory thought for a moment. "Well, I could always see what movies are playing right now, I guess... I know I need to go shopping, but I can always do that later..." She thought about what was in town. There wasn't a lot.
"Movie..." There weren't movies in Léan's world--they had live theater and plays, but since they didn't have television or anything like it...there weren't movies. "I suppose that could be interesting. Whatever you want to do, we will do."
The more Glory thought about it, the better going to a movie sounded.
"Maybe going out to a movie will be a good thing," she said. "It'll be nice not to think about things for a little bit." |
"I have never seen one of these 'movies' before," Léan admitted, curiously. "So, I suppose it would be an interesting experience for me. When shall we go?"
"I'll check showtimes and see what's playing," Glory said, getting up to get her computer. It wouldn't take her long to run a search for showtimes. She tapped on her keyboard quickly, glad to have something for her hands to do, if briefly.
Léan watched her, still fascinated by the computer. It wasn't going to be easy for him not to ogle like an idiot in human cities, towns, and locations. Though, people would probably just take him as some odd foreigner.
It only took Glory about a minute to pull up the list of showtimes at the theater. She picked a title that looked interesting and checked the times.
"There's one starting in an hour," she said. |
Léan looked excited. His tail swished back and forth. "Where will we go to see it? Is it like a theater...?" he asked, mystified.
"It's actually called a theater," Glory replied. "Except the movie is projected into a screen instead of being live."
Léan blinked, then tilted his head, slowly. "...? Projected...with what? How? ...Wait, never mind. That will probably encompass a long and confusing explanation," he chuckled.
"Yeah, probably," Glory agreed. "But because it's all recorded beforehand, there's a ton of special effects that are used to make everything look amazing."
Léan looked utterly lost. It was probably not a good idea to try and explain it all to him, since he looked like a deer in headlights at the moment.
Glory couldn't help giggling a bit.
"You'll see," she said, cuddling with him. |
"I guess I will," Léan hummed, closing his eyes, as he leaned a little more on her. He was comfortable and content just relaxing like this.
"You're starting to look a bit dry," Glory commented as they cuddled. "Do you want to head outside for a bit?"
"Do you think I will dry off in time to see the movie?" Léan asked, curiously. "I don't want to go wet, after all...that will attract unneeded attention to us."
"We have time before it starts," Glory said, "and there are more showings later if we miss the first one."
Léan smiled, then nodded. "All right...a little dip in the ocean sounds nice, then..." He scowled at his tail. His scales were already starting to dry up and flake off.
Glory grinned.
"Alright," she said. "Let's go, then." Picking him up, she took him outside to the beach. Setting him down at the shore, she went and sat down on her rock. |
Léan slid into the water at once, ducking under. He shook away the drier scales on his tail and then sighed, letting it soak for a while. "If only I could find a way to not make them dry out on land. I would be ten times better..." he complained.
