"I don't think I can help you there," Glory said. She made herself comfortable on her rock.

Léan huffed and poked at his tail defiantly. He then curled up in the shallows, pleased. It was oddly quiet. Damon and Archie were still busy with Eden, most likely.

"It's nice out right now," Glory said softly, looking out over the water. It was oddly peaceful, and soothing.

"Yes, I don't see my brother anywhere," Léan retorted, and then he snickered. "That was mean...yes, it is nice and quiet...again, my brother isn't here..."

"I know he doesn't annoy you as much as you pretend he does," Glory said. "I've seen you not get annoyed at him before."

"Hmph." Léan folded his arms across his chest, stubbornly. He would probably never admit that Archie didn't really annoy him all that much.

((I've got to reboot my computer, so I'll be back in a few minutes.))

Glory grinned.

"That's that I thought," she said teasingly.

"He can be really annoying!" Léan protested, frowning. "Gah...well, he can be. He isn't, always...he just gets on my nerves..."

"I think you just need a bit more patience with him," Glory said. "You already tolerate him more than you did at the beginning of the summer."

Léan's grumbling continued for a few more minutes before he surrendered. "Fine, fine...he's become more tolerable, but he's still at an intolerable level."

Glory grinned, but didn't push the issue any further. Pulling her kees up to her chest, she looked out over the water and sighed a little.

Léan yawned, then stretched himself out. It felt nice to be back in the water again, but that was mostly because his tail wasn't dried-out anymore.

"You look comfortable," Glory commented. At least one of them was content, that was something. An odd sort of melancholy was settling on her, and she couldn't help but think about how her life was suddenly turned on end.

Léan glanced at her, puzzled by the odd undertone to her voice. "...Is something bothering you?" he asked, finally, after a minute of scrutiny.

"I'm just... thinking," Glory replied. "It's probably going to sound a bit dramatic, but it just kind of feels like my whole life just got turned upside down."

"Nothing major has really changed." Léan didn't seem to think it was a big deal. Then again, he probably didn't understand, even though he was trying his best to.

"Well, yeah, I know that logically," Glory agreed. "It's not like I'm any different than I was yesterday. It just... doesn't feel the same."

Léan's brow furrowed. "...All right, then...I don't think I understand, completely, so I won't push it. Best not to dig the hole any deeper."

"Good plan," Glory said. "I'm not even sure I understand it, really, so anything I try to explain won't make any sense."

Léan folded his arms out in front of him and rested his chin on them, seeming relaxed. He was prepared to get out and start getting ready to leave at any time.

Taking out her phone, Glory checked the time.

"Alright, we should probably get you dry and vaguely presentable if we're going to make the early showing," she said.

Léan pulled himself up into shallower water, ready to be picked up. He felt so helpless on land, but at least he could try to get around now by himself with the wheelchair.

Picking him up, Glory took him back inside. They still had a little time, since it didn't take long to get to the theater. The tickets would take up most of the last of her paycheck, but she didn't worry too much about it. Her next paycheck was due soon anyways.

Léan curled his tail up, a smile on his face. He was eager to see what a 'movie' was and why humans seemed so fond of them. He was suspecting it was something like theater back home...

"Ready?" Glory asked once she'd helped him with the blanket. She left a note for Nana letting her know where they were. She didn't want to face her grandmother yet, and she got the feeling that Nana knew that.
