Léan nodded, excited. He hoped he wouldn't stare and ogle too much, or end up freaking out. He didn't want to attract too much attention to himself.

Glory made her way out to the car with him, making sure to unlock all the doors rather than just her own, like she was used to. Once she helped him into the car, she got in and started the engine.

"You're practically vibrating in your seat," she teased. "Just relax. A movie is meant to be purely for entertainment. It'll be dark, anyways, so nobody will see you."

Léan frowned. "I'm bound to look like some idiot foreigner, anyway...what with my odd reactions to things, and all..." he reminded her. "I just hope I don't attract too much attention to myself.

"You'll be fine," Glory said. "The more you worry about it, the more you'll stand out. Just relax." The drive to the theater was short, and she managed to find a good parking spot off to the side. "When we go inside, I'll get our tickets, then we just head into the right theater and find seats. That's it."

"Sounds simple enough." Léan had stage fright. Sure, the apartment had been bad enough...but this was in full view of the public. Full view. He was nervous.

"You know I'll be right with you the whole time," Glory said as they went inside. Rather than waiting in line for an actual teller, she just went up to one of the newer ticket kiosk machines and swiped her debit card. Not a minute later, she had their two tickets. "There. Now we just take these to the guy who lets us into the theater, and we're all set."

Léan seemed puzzled as to how a piece of plastic could pay for tickets, but he didn't ask--another long explanation, most likely. Quietly, he wheeled after her, looking around in muted wonder at everything around him. He didn't attract too much attention.

Glory watched him as she absently handed over their tickets and was given back the ticket stubs.

"At least you're not freezing up," she said as they headed to the proper theater. "That's something."

"I am trying my best," Léan replied. His voice was distracted...and he was, quite so. He was looking around at everything so closely. The human world was so different from his.

"Well, come on, the previews are about to start, and we need to get seats," she said. Going into the theater, she pointed to a seat right next to a wheelchair space. "Right there. It's much closer to the screen than I usually like, but my favorite spot is at the top of the stairs, so it defeats the purpose."

Léan clumsily navigated his way to the wheelchair space and spent some time getting adjusted. "All right...I think I'm good..." he informed her, finally. He then looked up--having only been studying the seats before--and took notice of the screen.

He simply sat there, then, staring at the screen and marveling over it, quietly.

Glory sat down in the chair next to him.

"Just wait till the previews start," she said. "There's probably going to be maybe six or seven of them, then the movie itself will start." As she said it, the lights went down and she could hear the projector up in the wall start whirring.

Léan looked fascinated. "I would love to learn how it works...but it is probably a long and boring explanation. I will settle for saying that it's all thanks to 'humans and their crazy machines.'"

"Sounds good to me," Glory said softly. "Now, best not to talk during movies, people tend to get annoyed if you do."

Léan nodded, then tilted his head as it started to roll. He was almost completely engrossed in it, and had to fight to keep his tail, all wrapped up, under control.

Glory settled back to watch the movie. It was pretty good, one of those ones she'd been planning to see for a while anyways, and it helped get her mind off things. The movie was fairly long, almost three hours, and she was almost glad when the credits started to roll.

Léan seemed thoroughly pleased...and thoroughly amazed. It was so strange to see...like a child in a brand-new school, or an alien on a different planet. His eyes shone with childlike wonder and curiosity. Surprisingly, despite this completely nonplussed look on his face, he didn't attract too many odd stares.

Glory stayed in her seat as the lights came back up during the credits.

"Let everyone else leave first," she said. "That way, we're not fighting our way towards the door. Did you like the movie?"

"Yes, though I didn't understand a lot of it...human customs are weird," Léan huffed, bluntly. He spoke quietly, so the people leaving wouldn't hear him. No need to attract attention...

"Yeah, I can't argue with that," Glory agreed. Once most of the people had filtered out, she stood up from her seat and stretched. "Ready to head back home?"

"Yes, I'm ready." Léan shifted a bit and then wheeled out of her way, so she could exit into the aisle.

Stepping into the aisle, she made her way to the exit.

"From here, we can head straight back out to the car," she said.

"All right. Lead the way." Léan was quite relaxed...not tense like he had been before. He was hoping that this soothed feeling remained, and that his 'stage-fright' didn't return. He followed her back out, not remembering the way back to the car. He would have to make a mental note to remember the way the next time they went somewhere together.

Most of the crowds had left by the time they got out to the parking lot, which was a good thing. Unlocking her car, Glory helped him into it, giving him a quick kiss before going around to the driver's side.

"The movie was pretty good," she commented as she pulled out of the parking lot.

"It was." Léan shifted in the seat to get comfortable, and then leaned against it, closing his eyes. "I still didn't understand most of it. But, that is because when it comes to human life, it's pretty much hopeless for me...I'll never understand it all."
