Léan listened to their exchange rather amusedly. Human drama, no matter what, would always be very amusing to him, unless it threatened the life of someone he cared about. Then...well, he would be angry. And upset. And harm the assailant, verbally or physically.

He had just breached the surface under one of the rocks with a large crab in his mouth. A few loud crunches could be heard as he decimated the poor crustacean's shell.

Patiently, he waited for Glory to return to him. He was sure that Archie wouldn't be leaving the cave for a long while, yet.

Glory spent a few more minutes inside before she finally went back out to the beach again. Going back over to her rock, she sat down and looked out over the water, pointedly ignoring her parents.

Léan waded over to her, finishing up the last bits of the crab he'd captured. He rested his head against one of the rocks and sighed, contentedly. "I feel very relaxed for some reason..." he muttered, brow furrowed.

"That makes one of us, at least," Glory said. She was far from relaxed, even though she was trying to appear relatively calm.

Léan blinked. "...? What is troubling you?" he asked, mystified. He felt calm and happy, though he was still very hungry and needed a proper hunt before the day ended.

"...Nothing, don't worry about it," Glory finally said. There was no way she was going to tell him that she felt tired and jealous and hurt and just wanted to throw herself on her bed and cry for a bit. She was just being over-emotional, and she knew it. No need to drag anyone else into it.

Léan folded his arms across his chest, but didn't push it. Instead, he pulled himself up fully onto her rock and gave her a hesitant, gentle hug. In all honesty, he hadn't been sure what else he could do.

Glory hesitated for a second, then leaned into the hug, resting her head on his shoulder. She wasn't used to letting anyone comfort her when she was upset. She was far more used to dealing with it on her own.

At the other end of the beach, Clarissa and Azilis were sitting in very much the same position as Glory and Léan. The two had spent the time catching up, and if Glory had been paying any attention to them at all, she would have noticed right away how happy they both looked. The two were now just sitting together quietly, enjoying one another's company again after so long.

"Look at those two," Clarissa said, gesturing to Glory and Léan.

"They're in love," Azilis replied. "I could tell as soon as I saw them together."

"You really think so?" Clarissa asked. Azilis nodded.

"I do think so," he replied, pulling her a bit closer. "They remind me a bit of us, to be honest. Gloriana is very much like you."

"With your stubborn streak," Clarissa said tartly. "On the days when she isn't using my temper, though, I've been told she's very easy-going, like you." She grinned a bit. "I'm just not sure how often she's not using my temper."

Léan arched an eyebrow once he noticed them looking, in a stubborn, semi-childlike 'Do you mind?' sort of way. It was kind of cute. He sighed and closed his eyes, leaning against her as well, resting his head against hers.

He was very comfortable where he was, and he was glad his hug had the power to comfort her, even if it wasn't by much. He didn't want her to be upset, and if she wouldn't tell him why she was upset...

He would just have to assume.

Glory gradually relaxed in his arms. She was still feeling a bit jealous and hurt, but she didn't feel the need to barricade herself in her bedroom and cry anymore. She felt terrible about how the day went, especially since he'd gone so far out of his way to help her before.

"I'm sorry," she finally said softly. "About today. You shouldn't have to deal with me when I'm like this."

Léan blinked, then sighed, awkwardly patting her shoulder.

"It isn't a problem," he assured her, just as quietly. "I don't mind comforting you. I don't like seeing you upset. Not in the least...I'm happy to help."

"Still," Glory said, leaning against him, "you shouldn't have to deal with me when I'm in one of these moods. I can't imagine it's all that great."

Léan huffed, stubbornly. "It is no trouble. Honestly. I'm not upset, or bothered. Or irritated, for that matter." He gently rested his head against hers.

"Then you must have the patience of a saint," Glory said.

Léan snickered, wickedly amused. "Oh, no. No, I don't. You of all people should know that by now." He paused. "I suppose I'm only patient when it comes to making jewelry."

Glory rolled her eyes and cuddled a bit closer to him.

"True," she said. She was gradually feeling better as she sat with him.

Léan's tail flicked back and forth. "...We should try to plan something that you, me, and Arcturus can all do together. Or at least, you and him. It is not going to be easy to break through his fear. He wants to, deep down. But at the moment, he's only trying because he's afraid of my reaction to his fear. That...needs to change."

He sighed. "Do you have any ideas? What would be fun for him?"

"I really have no idea," Glory said honestly. She sighed and cuddled with him. "Just... not today. I can't do that again today."

"I don't think he's in the mood today, either," Léan replied, closing his eyes. "Let's see...I'm not quite sure what he would like...he's hyper, cheery...into cheesy romances, animals...erm..."

Glory couldn't help but grin a little.

"I like a good cheesy romance every so often," she said. "I'm a hopeless romantic at heart."

"Why don't you try to convince him into going to see a romance movie, then?" Léan suggested. "Getting him out of the water would be the first step. Then the wheelchair. And the final test would be taking him out in public..."

"Do you really think that will work?" Glory asked. She highly doubted that it would... But she might have something similar that she could put together. She could always run an extension cord out to the beach, and use her laptop as a DVD player...

"It's something I would like to work, if you can convince him to do it...if you have something else in mind, you can try that as a last resort," Léan yawned. He briefly scanned over the water around them. "It seems he's retreated to stay with Damon, for now. He's probably still a nervous wreck."

"Somehow, that doesn't surprise me," Glory replied. She didn't bother looking out over the water, she knew he was right.

"...He is better than he was before," Léan informed her, honestly. "Do you remember how he was when you first met him? He wouldn't even lift himself up out of the water..."
