"Bad eyesight underwater is not good. Azilis may not have gotten Abrium, yet," Léan reminded her, pointedly.

"But I know my mother," Glory said. "If there's something she can do for herself, she'll do it. And I don't exactly blame her. I mean, would you want someone trying to poke their nose and interfere in our relationship?"

"We already have someone doing that," Léan muttered, dryly. "Arcturus. He's a bit distracted because of Eden, but once he gets a chance to pry, he'll pry."

"And it annoys you all to hell," Glory pointed out. "So why do you want to do that to someone else?"

"I'm not poking or prying...I simply want to know if she needs something to clear up his eyes," Léan offered, puzzled. "She'll want it cleared up, and Arcturus can get Abrium easily."

"I'll ask later, then," Glory said. "For now, I don't want to get up. I'm too comfortable here."

"As am I..." Léan sighed, pleased by that. "Ah...I'm so comfortable..." He closed his eyes, shifting closer.

Glory snuggled closer to him. She was perfectly happy never to move again, if she didn't have to.

Léan purred softly. He seemed so happy, at the moment. A big smile on his face, a relaxed posture...his tail flicked up and down slightly. "...I had an idea, but it wouldn't be good...I could try to enroll in your school, using the wheelchair...but, since I'm 'stupid' in human customs, I would not do well, unless I were to have you in every class..." he mused.

"Is that something you would really want to risk?" Glory asked. "High school is brutal. I wouldn't wish it on anyone."

"I've gone through it already," Léan assured her. "I've gone through it, and I'll go through it again, if you think it is a good idea."

"I don't think I could let you do that," Glory said. "I don't think I could watch you go through it. High school is hard even when you know the rules."

Léan tilted his head, slightly. "If you can make it, somehow, that we have every class together--since I don't mind what classes I take...I think it would be a good idea. Since I'm an invalid, I will need a constant helper, in the eyes of the school..."

"You've seen the kind of work they give me," Glory pointed out. "Reading tends to be a huge part of it. Besides, I've seen how uncomfortable you are in crowds. I think I may have to put my foot down on this one."

"I can read if I have your help," Léan grumbled. "And I am uncomfortable in crowds...but as long as I have someone I know with me, I'll be all right."

"What brought this on in the first place?" Glory asked. It seemed like a supremely bad idea, to her.

"It was a sudden, random brainstorm," Léan admitted, sheepishly. "I thought it seemed semi-intelligent...a good idea..."

"It just doesn't seem like a very good idea to me," Glory said. "I'm not popular at school, and school isn't fun if you're not popular. Trust me on that one. And being in such close proximity to so many people for that long every day... Someone is bound to notice something."

Léan frowned. He'd wanted his idea to go through. "Hm..." He seemed to want to be able to spend time with her during the day, but since she was at school..."

"I just don't want you to risk yourself like that," Glory said, snuggling closer. "I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I let something happen to you."

"We could try going out in public a few more times..." Léan suggested. "...And then, we could try the school thing, once I am more comfortable."

"Perhaps," Glory said, thinking. "I don't know how late in the year they'll take new students... And I graduate at the end of the spring, anyways, so it's not even like I have that much longer to go. To the end of May, maybe. Just before summer starts."

Léan nodded, yawning. He closed his eyes. "I suppose I will be fine until then..." he sighed, in surrender.

"Once I graduate, I'll take a few years off of school," Glory said. "Spend as much time here as I can before I have to look for a college. I'll stay in-state, see if I can't get into a school near the shore..." She grinned. "Maybe I could look into a marine biology degree instead, though my strengths are still in english and literature..."

Léan tilted his head a bit more. "You look into whatever 'degree' you want to look into. Don't let me influence you," he insisted.
