"I never played mind tricks on you," Léan replied airily. "It was just your imagination..."

He glanced at Nana Sue, not having any problem telling her what happened. "She heard noises about three nights ago, and she came out looking to see what it was...I just happened to be there, relaxing in my cave in the rocks here," he added, loftily--he would never admit he had been playing mind games with her. "The next day, she came out looking again. She hadn't seen the cave the first time. So, she ducked underwater to check. She saw me, panicked and flailed like a startled fish, and smashed her head against one of the rocks..."

As he spoke, he'd been swatting at some seaweed that had floated up to him and kept returning when he pushed it away.

Glory gave him a half-hearted glare and reached out with her foot to flip the seaweed up into his face. Strangely, it made her feel better.

"It's nothing, Nana, just a little bump," she reassured her grandmother. "I'm fine. Wouldn't have even happened if he hadn't kept taunting me."

((I'll be right back--I have to eat.))

Léan flailed a bit, gingerly removing the seaweed from his face and holding it out, as far away from him as possible.

"Ugh. Not only is it seaweed, it now also has...has...your foot germs on it," he complained, chucking it up at her so it would in return stick to her face.

((that's fine. fair warning, i have a two hour class tonight))

Glory squealed and giggled as the wet leaves smacked her in the face.

"Is that the best you can come up with?" she asked, still laughing as she tossed the seaweed back at him.

((Okay, thanks for telling me. ^^))

Léan dodged it, but it managed to stick to his shoulder. "Gah." He peeled it off, sourly, and chucked it back at her, this time fleeing and hiding behind Arcturus before she could retaliate. He floated behind his brother and his mate, a smug look on his face.

Glory grinned and stood up so she could get a better angle. A challenge, hm? Sher eyes narrowed slightly as she tried to eyeball the right angle to throw the seaweed back. She figured that Damon and Archie could get out of the way fast enough, and figured that Archie was even planning on it. It seemed like the kind of thing he would do; to let his brother get hit by the wet plant. Picking a spot just so, she hurled the tangle of seaweed at Léan, waiting for the satisfying 'smack'.

As expected, Archie ducked down underwater, pulling Damon with him.

Léan tried to duck underwater, but was stopped by Archie, and the seaweed collided with his face, with a loud smack.

"Gah," he muttered, clawing and swatting at it to get it off. "Damn seaweed..."

Archie came back up and grinned; Damon grinned with him.

Glory giggled and watched as he peeled the seaweed off of his face. She didn't sit down, though, ready to duck out of the way if he threw it back at her. She didn't say anything to point it out, but she knew he was having fun with their little game, and suspected that he knew it as well, even if he wouldn't admit it.

Léan cocked his arm back, like he was going to throw it at her...but then he turned and threw it directly in Archie's face and swam away, hiding in the rocks.

Archie squeaked, flailing, and pulled the seaweed off of his face. He grumbled, then swam up to Glory and handed it to her. "If you can see him in there, get him good," he suggested, brightly.

Glory looked at the seaweed for a moment, then took off her jacket. The salt water was probably going to sting for a bit on her sunburn, but she didn't care. Nor did she really care that she was going to get her clothes wet. Taking a quick breath, she jumped into the water.

"Give me that," she said once she got back to the surface. Taking the seaweed, she swam over to the rock that Léan was hiding behind and climbed up onto it quietly, just high enough on the rock that she could see the top of his head. Grinning, she reached over and dropped the seaweed onto his head and then ducked down behind the rock again.

Léan jumped, growling, and pulled the seaweed out of his hair, shaking his head a bit. He swam around quickly, seaweed in hand, to try and find the culprit. "I will have my revenge!" He called out, brandishing the seaweed in front of him as if it were some sort of dangerous weapon.

Archie was having a giggling fit. Damon was smiling, and he chuckled politely. It seemed like teasing Léan was something Archie really enjoyed. He never pushed it so far that it would truly upset him, though--Archie loved his brother far too much to do that.

Glory couldn't help it--she started laughing from her perch on top of the rock.

"That's if you can get me with it," she teased, watching him circle the rock like a shark. "Hiding behind rocks doesn't work if your opponent can get to the top of them."

Léan raised an eyebrow. "Hm. You shouldn't have said that. You forget that I am a creature of the sea, and because I swim so often...I am pretty strong."

He swam quite a few feet back, keeping a firm grip on the seaweed, turned to face the rock, and then sped towards the rock. Once he was almost there, he leaped out of the water--much like a dolphin or whale would do--and landed on the top of the rock, on his stomach, tail swishing. He lightly tossed the seaweed at her, smug.

Glory caught the seaweed, sending him a wry look.

"Showoff," she teased, throwing the wet plant back at him. Hopping back down into the water, she climbed up onto a neighboring rock. "It's no fun if we're on the same rock," she pointed out as she got to the top.

"That rock wasn't big enough for the two of us," he muttered, peeling the seaweed off of his arm and chucking it back at her. "This poor seaweed is getting abused."

"I can go and get a sponge, if you want," Glory offered as she caught the seaweed. "It holds water better, and makes a nicer smack when it hits you." She threw the ball of seaweed back at him, trying to hit one of his shoulders just enough to tip him back over into the water. It would serve him right for being such a showoff.

Archie leaned up over the side of Glory's rock with more seaweed. "Here! Add this to it when he throws it back at you," he giggled, amused, before racing off to find more. It seemed he'd recruited Damon to his cause, as well, here.

Léan let the seaweed hit his shoulder, but because it wasn't a giant ball of seaweed, it only crushed against him with a slight 'sploosh' sound.

His brow was furrowed as he peeled it off of him. "Humans keep sea sponges in their homes?" he questioned, puzzled, as he threw it back at her.

"Not sea sponges," Glory clarified. "Though I think that's where the idea came from. I guess you could call them fake sea sponges." She squealed and giggled when the seaweed hit her, and she added the new stuff that Archie had brought her when she picked it up to throw it back.

Léan attempted to dodge the seaweed ball, but it instead tangled itself in his hair. He grumbled, picking it out.

"Why in the world would you need something like a sea sponge?" he asked, nonplussed. "I don't understand." He managed to pick the seaweed out of his hair and lob it back at her.

"It's used for cleaning," Glory replied, ducking the ball of seaweed. It fell into the water, and she jumped in after it. She threw it back at him and grinned when it made a particularly wet splat. "It doesn't look much like a sea sponge, unless you specifically buy one that does. The ones I have are soft, square, and brightly colored with one side being rough for scrubbing things."

Léan stared at the wet clump of seaweed sticking to his chest before peeling it off, grumbling a bit.

"That's peculiar..." he mused, tossing it back at her. "Is it alive? Like sea sponges are?"

"No," Glory replied, "very much not. They're made of cellulose, I think, which isn't alive. If they were alive, I wouldn't touch them." Her light laughter was cut short when the seaweed hit her face. Peeling it off, she giggled and threw it back.

The returning seaweed smacked Léan in the face, and he grumbled a bit, swatting it off.

"Why not? Sponges are harmless," he hummed, chucking it at her--he had a nasty left arm! "Most sea creatures are harmless. Some species of sharks are even harmless unless heavily provoked."

"Uh huh," Glory said, "tell that to the seals near Africa." Okay, that was an extreme case, and she knew it. But she didn't like sharks much to begin with. Peeling the seaweed off of her shoulder carefully, she threw it back*

Léan watched idly as the seaweed flopped onto his shoulder.

"As living creatures, sharks are obligated to devour the flesh of other living creatures to survive," he informed her pointedly, whipping the seaweed at her playfully. "That is the same for all living creatures. Plants are living things, as well, so herbivores are not exempt, either."
