"Doin' stuff alone isn't as fun. I like having an audience," Viktor protested, pointedly. It wasn't clear whether or not he was joking, which was sort of scary, in a way. He flashed a glance at Betelgeuse, who still looked murderous. "I don't think you should get too close to that tank."

"Yeah, speaking of, where's the top to it?" Glory asked. She pointedly ignored what he'd said before he mentioned the tank.

"Probably under all the junk in the truck bed," Viktor hummed, standing up. "I'll go have a look." He took the long way around to the door, to avoid getting close to the tank.

"You do that," Glory said. She kept an eye on the tank as well, just in case.

Curry was rubbing his bandaged arm, absently.

Léan was watching him, suspiciously, as something dawned on him. His tail began to flick back and forth, and he shot his father an accusing glance.

Betelgeuse noticed his glower, and sneered at him, aggressively. That was followed by an unamused snort and some hissing.

Glory didn't notice the look that went between the two of them, slightly more focused on relaxing after being chased around the shallows.

"Did the bite on Curry's arm look strange to you?" Léan asked, suddenly, breaching the semi-silence. He was watching Curry like a hawk and taking in his every move.

"I think you'd have to give me your version of 'strange'," Glory said. "At this point, I'm not sure what to classify as 'strange' anymore."

"Infected?" Léan clarified, curiously. "The bites of my kind can be poisonous. Especially if the bites are in self-defense, or something like it."

"Aside from the fact that I cleaned it before I bandaged it?" Glory pointed out. "It didn't look obviously infected, at least to me."

"Well...cleaning it was good..." Léan glanced at Curry. "Keep an eye on it. If something seems strange, come back here and I will fix it."

"Sure..." Curry seemed a tad worried, now, that he'd heard he might be poisoned.

There wasn't anything Glory could add to that, so she cuddled closer to Léan.

Viktor returned at that moment, lugging the large top to the tank over his back. "Got it." Quickly, he pushed it over the top of the tank and secured the clamps. The clamps could be removed later, and there was a small door at the top that could be used to slip food in to him.

"Thanks," Glory said. "I'll probably end up taking it off at some point, but for now it's just fine where it is."

"Release the clamps to get it off. You need him moved again, call us," Viktor offered, politely. "He shouldn't be able to break that glass, so you don't have to worry about that. It's almost bulletproof--high-grade stuff. My folks used to keep a little barracuda in there that would bang against the glass all day."

"Alright," Glory said. "Thanks for your help." She grinned. "At this rate, I'm going to owe you favors for the rest of my life."

"I could pervert that in any way I wanted to, but that's not my style," Viktor replied, simply. "Heh, don't worry about it. If I need something, I'll ask."

"You know what, you're no fun to joke around with," Glory said, though she was still grinning.

"I've got a whole bag of jokes and only half of 'em are sexual," Viktor responded, teasingly. "I like messing with people. And having joke wars." He straightened up. "I should really get going. I'm supposed to be 'grounded' and confined to my room. If my parents check on me, I'm screwed."

"Well, don't let me get you in trouble," Glory said. "I'll see you in class on Monday."

"Buh-bye." Viktor headed out towards his truck, arms linked with Curry, who was still fussing about his arm possibly being poisoned.

Léan sighed, resting his head on her shoulder. "...Well...we can go out in the water, now," he murmured, happily.

"We could," Glory agreed, cuddling close to him. Leaning up a little, she gave him a kiss.

Léan kissed her back, closing his eyes briefly. "I could show you the reef, as well," he added, hopefully.

"Now you're just trying to bribe me," Glory accused teasingly.

"That depends. Is it working?" Léan asked, tail swishing back and forth anxiously. He seemed to be in such a good mood after seeing Curry manhandle his father--who, by the way, was being quite quiet.
