Léan swerved to avoid hitting a rock, and then shifted to get more comfortable. "I love you, too." He didn't seem to have any problems saying it, now.

Glory grinned and cuddled with him as they went around the reef. She was still surprised that none of the fish vanished when they got close, but she was slowly getting used to it.

Léan stopped, suddenly, and pulled her back, slowly. They'd just turned a corner, and there was a large ray directly in front of them. Rays didn't like merpeople...not in the least. It made an odd gurgling sound, but stayed put.

Glory stayed close to him, looking at the ray warily as well. She wasn't about to provoke it, even unintentionally.

Léan gauged the size of the ray, and then reared up, hissing at it. The ray, not having been expecting it, turned tail and fled. Léan sighed. "I don't understand why, but rays can't stand us."

"Who knows," Glory said. "It's probably just one of those things that nobody really knows why."

Léan grumbled under his breath. "I hate not knowing. It bothers me," he complained, looking around to make sure the ray was gone.

"Oh, quit whining," Glory said affectionately. She grinned. "Though I like how close you're holding me," she added teasingly.

Léan cleared his throat, grinning. "This is a serious situation--that ray could come back. And that's all you're worried about, hmm?" he teased right back.

"And if it comes back, we can leave for a while, it's no big deal," Glory pointed out. "We can always come back later on."

Léan huffed, stubbornly. He hated rays, and fighting with them was at least a monthly occurrence for him. Whether it was over food or territory, scraps happened all the time.

Rolling her eyes, Glory laid her head on his shoulder.

"You worry too much," she said. "Just relax."

Léan closed his eyes, resting their heads together. "Ah...all right, all right..." Slowly, he started to propel them forward again. He was a bit more watchful this time, once he opened his eyes again.

"The reef is beautiful," Glory said as they went. "I thought we were too far north for reefs like this, though. I thought it was too cold."

"For large ones, yes. Little ones...they're scattered all over the globe," Léan clarified, idly. He, very sneakily, nabbed a crab hanging off the side of one of the coral towers and killed it, munching on it as they went along.

"I guess that makes sense," Glory said. She grinned a bit. "Poor crab, it never knew what hit it."

Léan bit one of the claws off, grinning semi-wickedly. "Not in the least. I like crabs...as food. Alive, they're evil little suckers."

Glory giggled a little.

"You and your grudge against the crabs," she teased.

"They're pure evil in a shell. Much like cone snails," Léan hummed, as he nibbled on. He was enjoying spending time together with her underwater--he was in such a good mood.

"Alright, I'll agree with you about the cone snails on the basis that they're poisonous," Glory said.

Léan stared up towards the surface, in a tranquil manner...a smile on his face. The ray hadn't returned for a while, so he figured he could stand to relax a while.

Glory gave him a kiss, and then pushed him playfully.

"Come on," she said, "it's about time we had some actual fun."

Léan grunted before shoving her back and darting around to hide among the sea life and bright coral. He wouldn't object to having some fun.

Glory laughed and followed him, trying to catch him.

Léan move quite quickly through the coral until he found a nice hiding place between a large rock and some pink coral. He made sure it wasn't occupied before slipping into the small crevice.
