"Do you need help?" Lleu offered, grinning. "I can write in most human languages, and speak them. I can assist you or do some of your homework for you." He seemed completely serious.

"Nah, the teachers know my handwriting by now, and I have to type everything anyways," Glory replied. "Don't worry about me, I brought this on myself. The essay won't take me long, I'm good at English work."

"Are you sure?" Lleu seemed apologetic. He felt bad that she was stuck doing all of this work. Then again, he was glad she'd said no--learning about English literature and the like was one of the only things he was rusty on.

"I'm sure," Glory replied. "It's the math that I really don't want to do, but it should be easy enough with a calculator. I'm no good at math, but I also specifically picked an easy math class to take."

"Ah, math and the art of memorization. That is one of my strong points," Lleu purred pleasantly. "Are you sure you do not want me to help you?"

"Maybe," Glory replied. "Let me get the essay done first. That's due tomorrow. The math is due next week, so I still have time."

Lleu grinned, and then nodded. "All right. I can just copy the answers on a separate sheet of paper for you, work and all. I know how irritating math can be."

"I'll get to the assignment later," Glory said. "It's no big deal."

"All right, if you say so." Lleu paused. "I will go and check on him, to see if he's woken early. Doing your essay now would be a nice way to pass the time."

"You know, I joke with my friends at school about seeming to read each other's minds," Glory commented. "But they can't actually do it, though sometimes I wonder about Viktor." Shaking her head a bit, she stretched her arms and turned to go back inside.

"It is not uncommon for humans to have hints of psychic abilities, but rare for them to have it such as I do," Lleu retorted, though he was curious about her friend. He could often sense it in people. Once she left, he dipped underwater to check on Léan.

Glory made herself comfortable inside with her computer and worked on her essay. It wasn't difficult, just time-consuming, and it took her a little while to finish it.

Lleu seemed to know exactly when she was finished, because he was back on the beach and trying to get her attention by smacking his tail against the water the moment she was done.

Glory ignored the impeccable timing and opened her bedroom window.

"Alright, you've got my attention," she said.

"You might want to come and get him. He's awake, but he's not feeling well. That medicine would do wonders, but it has to be given to him when he's out of water, and has formed legs for the first time. Well, second. But the first doesn't count, since it was not a permanent change and wasn't painful."

Lleu frowned. "I trust you remember how it was when you changed."

"Vaguely," Glory said. "I remember enough, at least. I'll be right there." Closing the window again, she went and got the bottle that she'd been given and went out to the beach.

Lleu gave some oddly vague directions as to where he was. Somewhere under the rocks, in one of the many caves. Probably in the most soundproof cave, where he was not going to be disturbed easily.

Glory nodded and followed the directions. There were fewer caves than she expected, so it wasn't as hard to find the right one as she thought it would be.

Léan was awake, but just barely. He seemed almost unable to move, and in some kind of pain, but his eyes flickered up when he saw her. He needed to breathe in air. Desperately.

Glory could tell immediately that he needed to get to the surface. Tucking herself under one of his arms, she pulled him up to the surface as quickly as she could. She would take him to the shore once she was sure he could breathe.

Léan gasped once he was pulled to the surface, taking in air at once. He seemed to be feeling a lot better, now that he could actually breathe. He wasn't used to not being able to breathe underwater. Of course, he would be able to once this particular change was over with.

"Now you know how I felt before," Glory teased softly as she towed him closer to shore. "That's what drowning is like, for future reference."

Léan looked offended, but didn't say anything. He clung to her for dear life, eyes a little wider than normal. He was in pain, but it would be much worse once he was taken out of the water and placed on land.

"You know I'm teasing you," Glory said when she saw his offended look. "There's a spot on the beach that's pretty secluded, that's where we're going."

Léan managed a nod, then closed his eyes and attempted to stay as still as possible. He didn't know if he would pass out, but it was certainly a possibility. He didn't like blacking out. It made him feel vulnerable.
