Glory just shook her head.

"Then would I be able to convince you to get me a pair of shoes?" she joked. She liked shoes, but she knew she already had all the shoes she needed.

"Sure, if you want. I can buy you a nice pair of shoes," Viktor replied, easily. "I like shopping for shoes, too."

Glory blinked.

"I was only joking about the shoes, you know," she said. "I didn't expect you to actually agree."

Viktor chuckled. "I seriously don't mind. If you want to buy some nice stuff for yourself, I don't mind helping you out. I rarely spend my own money, anyway...my parents keep insisting on using their own money to buy me stuff."

"I'll see about things for me once I'm done shopping for what I was actually looking for," Glory said. "I need to see how far I can get my paycheck to go." She wasn't used to other people buying things for her, at least not when she hadn't asked for it.

"...Okay, then. Compromise! If you see something you like while we're out, nab it and I'll buy it for you. One thing is nothing to feel guilty about, right?" Viktor sighed, then thought ahead and began to dig in one of the drawers at their table. "I'll need his measurements, so let's stop by your place before we go, hmm?" He pulled a tape measure out of the drawer.

"Might as well," Glory said. "Just... stay in the car until I come and get you? We've had... guests, for the past few days."

Viktor understood almost immediately. "All right, I get you. I'll stay put. Just don't make me wait too long, or I'll get all antsy."

"I'll see what I can do," Glory said. She grinned a bit. "I wasn't kidding when I said you were my only human male friend. Well, not counting Hector, but he's more my mechanic than anything."

"Well, that's odd. You should make some more friends!" Viktor pressured, poking her in the shoulder a few times. "I can't be the only friendly human guy out there. Not including the ones that just want to get into girls' pants..."

"Viktor, when have you ever known be to actually be sociable?" Glory pointed out. "Really."

"You should make more of an effort," Viktor corrected himself, semi-seriously. "I mean, I'm not one to talk, since I have both friends and 'friends.' But still."

"Let me rephrase," Glory said. "I have some friends. About half of them just aren't built to be topside."

Viktor chuckled. "I didn't know your house was a popular attraction for marine creatures," he teased, understanding. "How many have you got there, now?"

Glory paused.

"...Five, around the beach?" she ventured. "Seven, maybe? Not counting my parents." She took a quick mental tally and nodded. "Somewhere around there, yeah. The number changes, though."

"Popular, aren't you?" Viktor stretched himself out, and then checked the time. "Bell's gonna ring soon. I'll meet you out in the parking lot..."

((Gotta go and take a shower--I'll be back.))

"I still haven't figured out how," Glory replied when he commented that she was popular. She shrugged. "Yeah, meet you in the parking lot."

Viktor nodded absently, and then hopped out of his seat when the bell rang, heading off to his next class.

The morning went quickly for Selena, since she was too busy texting her 'friend' to notice the classes flashing by before her eyes.

Between classes, Glory teased Selena a little. She knew that the other girl was probably still on her phone.

This is me being obnoxious and in the way, she teased, figuring her message popped up in the middle of Selena's text-athon.

This is me telling you you're being obnoxious and in the way, Selena teased right back. The teasing-fight, through just a few texts, continued until lunch, when Selena plopped down at her table with her lunch, sighing wearily. Her phone was still at the ready in her pocket.

Glory sat down at the table next to her.

"So," she said, "details. Speak." She grinned a bit and made herself comfortable to listen.

"Well. I was at a friend's birthday party three days ago..." Selena began, thinking back. "And I met a really nice guy. Kind of shy. I've just been getting to know him over the past three days. Oh..." She fished around in her pocket for her phone, and after responding to her most recent text she pulled up the picture, and held out her phone quickly. "Here, that's him!"

"He's kind of cute," Glory commented when she saw the picture.

"Kind of is a little muted," Selena hummed, pulling her phone back to text again. "I like him. He seems a little too reserved, though...I'm trying to get him out more into the social light...that reminds me!" Selena danced in her seat. "My birthday is in two weeks and I'm having a big party. I'm having it at Viktor's restaurant--he said he'd reserve the place for me. You're welcome to come."

"You're really hyped up," Glory said. "Is there something going around I don't know about? Somehow, Viktor is fixated on going shopping, it's weird." She grinned a bit to show she was teasing. "Anyways, sure, I'll be there."
