"Alright," Glory said. "I'll be back later. Be ready to try things on, alright? I'm going to need to know what fits and what doesn't."

Léan nodded, curling up tightly. He was having trouble getting fully comfortable in a position with his new legs. It would take some experimentation to gain his bearings with them.

Once she was sure he'd be alright, she took the list and the tape measure back out to the car.

"Wake up, you," she said as she got in. "Come on, the sooner we leave the sooner I can be back."

Viktor grunted, and then shifted where he sat, starting his car back up. "Okay, then. Where do you want to go? I suggest somewhere with simple clothes--there's a real nice family-owned shop in the strip mall nearby that has nice clothes for guys."

"Sounds like a plan," Glory replied. "Let's go. I do want to be back relatively soon."

"All right, all right..." It was a short drive to the strip mall, which was mere miles away. Viktor parked near the entrance and hopped out, a spring in his step. He loved to shop, of course...he was ready to.

Glory handed him the list of numbers.

"Have at it," she said. "I reserve the right to veto anything I deem unfit."

"Ffffff. I have good fashion sense. I doubt you'll toss back anything I pick out," Viktor huffed, offended. He strode forward, into the store without her, to begin his search.

He picked out several different tops, none of them pink. He didn't seem to find many bottoms he thought would suit him, though he did pick out a multitude of different undergarments.

Glory picked out a few things as well, but she was more reserved about her choices. She raised an eyebrow at some of the undergarments.

"Unless you're keeping some of these yourself, I'm going to nix them," she said.

"Aw, come on. These aren't so bad." Viktor held up possibly the worst of them all. The only bad thing about it was that it was a girlish light blue and semi-tight. More than half were boxers, the other half were briefs. He didn't know which the changed merman would prefer.

"I reserve veto right," Glory reminded him. She sifted through the shirts, but didn't put any of them back. They seemed alright.

"They aren't bad, though. Besides, if he ends up not liking 'em, I have smaller-size friends who'll take 'em," Viktor promised, contently.

Glory rolled her eyes but didn't argue. He was helping her pay for everything, after all.

Viktor insisted he buy everything himself, and that if she wanted to pay him back, she really didn't have to...but she could. He looked through the clothes on the way back out to his car. "He really should have at least three more pairs of pants, and some pajamas."

"Alright," Glory said. That made sense. She was going to have to move things around in her closet to make room for everything, but she'd figure something out.

Viktor set the bags down, and then glanced around the strip mall once more. "We could try out Goodwill. They usually have nice, gently worn stuff."

"Goodwill is usually really hit-or-miss, though," Glory replied. Every so often, she was able to find something nice, but a lot of times she couldn't.

"The one here is nice. You can pick out stuff in here, if you want. Based on what we got in the first store. It's worth it to take a look before we drive somewhere else and possibly waste some gas," Viktor reasoned, shrugging.

"That works," Glory said. She was willing to take a look. Maybe she'd stumble across something nice.

Viktor closed up the trunk, absently swinging his keys around. "It's over here...this way." He led the way without a problem. He liked this particular store, since he often stumbled across some really nice clothes.

Glory followed him into the Goodwill. She enjoyed thrift shopping every so often, since she had a secret soft spot for antiques and old gowns, so she ended up looking through the women's racks anyways.

Viktor allowed her to, and picked through the men's and unisex clothes contently. He managed to find a really nice set of men's nightclothes, as well as a pair of nice white sneakers among the small selection of shoes they had. He picked out three pairs of socks and three more pairs of pants.

He took the clothes to her for analysis.

Eventually, Glory herself ended up with a pretty shirt and a pair of embellished jeans when Viktor came over with a bunch of things. She picked through them before nodding.

"Looks good," she said.

"That should cover it for now, then," Viktor decided, as he bought the clothing and shoes he was holding. "You want me to pay for your stuff, too, or have you got it covered?"

"I've got it," Glory replied. She wanted to buy at least her own things for herself. That way, she wouldn't feel quite so much like she was taking advantage of his generosity.
