"Fine with me." Viktor patiently waited for her to finish up, and then quickly led her out to the car. He knew how much she wanted to head home.
Glory couldn't help being a bit antsy.
"I don't mean to be so twitchy," she apologized. "It's just been one of those weeks, I think. I've either been stuck at school or stuck in the house and I've been swamped with homework." |
"Maybe you should take him out on a date," Viktor suggested pointedly, grinning. A simple thing...yet it could be quite effective. He shoved the clothes into the back of the car and then closed up the trunk, knowing she would probably want to hold her own clothes for the time being.
"Unless it's off-shore, I don't see that one happening for a while," Glory replied. "He's just not walking well enough yet."
"Maybe you should get him on a treadmill or something, then? There's a local gym nearby you could try. Not very crowded..." Other than that, Viktor didn't know what to do for him. He plopped down in his car, waiting for her.
"I can barely tolerate the gym," Glory snorted. "I wouldn't inflict that on anyone." She shook her head. "I'll figure something out. I think I'm just getting too stressed."
"If you've got homework to do tonight, hand it over to me. I have nothing to do tonight and Curry's out of town. I'm gonna be uber bored. I'll do it for you, free of charge," Viktor offered, contently. "You have a nice night and spend time with him."
"I couldn't ask you to do that," Glory protested. "You've done so much for me already."
"I'm gonna be our class's valedictorian. I have nothing to do tonight but sit at home and rot. You're stressed. Once we get back to your place, hand over the homework. Trust me," Viktor insisted, grinning. He was one of the more academically-oriented students at the school.
"If you're sure..." Glory gave in reluctantly. The idea of a quiet night was just too tempting.
"I am, don't worry about it. Give me as much as you want." Viktor seemed determined. As soon as she was fully in, he started to drive, heading back towards her home. "Make-up work is never fun."
"Yeah, and I can't afford to miss any more school," Glory said. "They'll keep me back if I do."
"Unless you're really sick. In which case, I can get that day excused for you...no penalty, and they probably won't count it. I miss so much school and so many classes. I self-teach most of the time, you see," Viktor hummed, and then yawned loudly.
"I'll let you know if I finally have some sort of mental breakdown," Glory said dryly. At the moment, she was only partially joking.
"Ya know what's good for those? A day at the spa," Viktor purred. His statement was possibly from experience. "I can also arrange that for you. Here we are." He pulled into her driveway, and let the engine idle. "Now go and get that homework."
"Yeah, a spa day is a bad idea for a couple of reasons," Glory pointed out. Jumping out of the car, she went inside and grabbed her homework before going back out and handing it to him. "Here. Knock yourself out."
"Sweet, something to do!" Viktor cheered, taking the homework. He set it on the now-free passenger seat and peeked out. "Want me to help you with the bags?"
"I can handle the bags," Glory said as she grabbed them. That, at least, was something she could do. "Thanks for your help."
"No problem. Have a nice night." Viktor was out of the driveway and out of sight quickly, eager to get home, change into his pjs, and spend the night relaxing, watching TV and finishing some simple homework.
Glory went back inside with the bags. She was tired, and was looking forward to a quiet night.
Léan was still asleep on the couch, curled up tightly, his features relaxed and very peaceful.
"Hey," Glory said softly once she put the bags down. She shook his shoulder gently. "I'm home."
Léan blinked, waking up slowly. He reached up to rub at his eyes, and then smiled at her. "Welcome back." He looked like he'd slept well, doubly so since he didn't have the cacophony of Morty and Lleu cuddling and possibly doing more near him...
"You look like you slept well," Glory said. Sitting down next to him, she cuddled with him. She just wanted to be with him and relax.
Léan seemed more than happy to cuddle. He missed having time to spend together, so the much-needed contact seemed to set him at ease.
