"What did you hear?" Glory asked softly, more alert now.

Léan tilted his head slightly, slowly, as he listened. Then, he peeked his head out, and sighed. "Oh...I feel better now," he chuckled, pulling his head back into the cave. "Our shark found that ray that's been snooping around here. Just fought with it and killed it."

"Is our shark alright?" Glory asked. She wasn't surprised that he won against the ray, since nothing really won in a fight with a great white, but she didn't want the shark to be hurt.

"I don't smell any blood. I think he's fine," Léan assured her, contently. "That takes care of two things at once. I don't like rays in my territory. They're nasty to merpeople..."

"You've said that before, I think," Glory reminded him. "But that's only one thing. What's the other?"

"I thought the shark had left. I hadn't seen him in a while," Léan admitted, scratching his head. "It's good to know he's still here."

"He's gone off for a while before," Glory pointed out. "He's been gone for weeks before." |
"It still worried me. Especially since my father is hanging around now, and he can't stand sharks..." Léan muttered, scowling suddenly and lowering his head. Even mentioning his father brought up a bad taste in his mouth.

Glory cuddled closer to him, offering a bit of comfort.
"I doubt even he would want to tangle with a great white twice his size," she pointed out. "Sweetness has a lot of teeth, after all." |
"My father can be stupid and headstrong when he really dislikes something or someone..." A lot like himself, but Léan would never admit that. "I wouldn't put it past him."

Glory nuzzled him a bit.
"We just have to trust that the shark can take care of himself," she said. "He's not stupid, I don't think." |
Léan closed his eyes, resting their heads together. "...Shall we go see how things are going outside, and on land?" he suggested, curiously.

"We can if you like," Glory said. It didn't matter much to her, she just wanted to spend time with him.

Léan nodded, and he quietly began to lead them out of the cave. Once out, sounds of playing could be heard by the shore--Archie, Damon, and Eden were probably out having fun.

As they got closer to the shore, Glory could hear it too and stayed close to him. While the others tolerated her presence, she wasn't sure if they would really want her around.

Léan glanced back at her, and then suddenly recalled that he hadn't really had her and his brother spend too much time together. Damon...well, Damon was a very trusting, innocent person. Archie...Archie had a little more experience than that. Though she had changed, she was still human. That would never fully set with him until the two had spent some time together.
"...You know..." He had an unwilling sort of tone to his voice. "...We should set a day aside to get to know each other's family...since we can't very well ignore everyone else, no matter how tempting it sounds..." |
"I think we've been over this before," Glory said. "And I think we came to the conclusion that it probably won't work."

"It depends on what we planned to do. Now that I can change into a human, and can semi-walk...we could pull my brother up out of water and do something all together, on land. We...would just need to talk to him, first," Léan murmured, frowning. Archie was terrified of humans. He would have to be assured that nothing bad would happen to him.

Glory gave him a flat look.
"Do you really think we'd be able to do that?" she asked. "Because I really don't see it happening." |
"...Well...if Lleu caves in...and finds some of that potion he gave me to give to Azilis, another of our kind...then we can all be together...and he will have two other merpeople with him..." Léan mused. "I think that would give him a little more comfort. Arcturus will not want to change, I can assure you now...Azilis might, so that he and Clarissa could live on land as well as underwater."

"He might have," Glory said. "We haven't seen them around lately, after all."

Léan sighed, shrugging slightly. "...Perhaps we should go looking for them? If Lleu hasn't handed over the potion yet, he will if he's asked...oh, wait..." He peered out slightly, to sea. He seemed to have sighted something--three figures headed this way. "...He really creeps me out, you know that...? I think that's him, with your parents."

"I do know he creeps you out, in fact," Glory teased. "You say it all the time." She was only partially surprised to see them, since she hadn't realized her mother was in the area.

Lleu approached them, and then flashed Léan an apologetic look. "I'm sorry I creep you out." He moved aside so they could all see and speak to one another. "Your 'family night out' sounds interesting to me. Keep in mind that you would also have to teach Azilis how to walk...if he agrees to this."

"Evesdropping is rude, you know," Glory teased.
