Glory saw her, too, and took a moment to make sure she was calm before going over to see her.

Clarissa saw the two of them. She was much calmer about the whole thing, now that she'd had a chance to actually think, though she really had her mate to thank for that.

Léan made it very clear that he was not going to tolerate fighting. He went first, in front of Glory, and kept them both in his sight at all times. His tail was also slightly upwards, a sign of dominance over the situation...

Glory sighed. She wasn't really looking forward to this.

"I'm sorry."

Glory blinked. She certainly wasn't expecting that. She'd never heard her mother apologize before. At least, not like that.

"What?" she said.

"I shouldn't have gotten angry like I did," Clarissa said. Glory honestly didn't know how to reply.

Léan watched them, silent. He wasn't going to interfere unless his interference was necessary...this was their talk, not his.

"You know my first reaction to anything is to lash out," Clarissa continued. Glory figured Azilis must have spent a long time talking to her.

"I didn't mean to upset you like that," she finally ventured.

"It wasn't what you did," Clarissa replied. "I'm just not used to the idea of my little girl not being so little anymore."

"I haven't been a little girl for a while," Glory pointed out.

"I think I'm starting to see that," Clarissa replied.

Léan rested his head on Glory's shoulder, wrapping an arm around her waist. He had accepted that they were definite mates, now...however, the human concepts of engagement and marriage were alien to him, and he didn't understand them...if Glory wanted them, she was going to have to talk to him about it.

Glory was a bit surprised when he wrapped his arm around her waist, since it meant his arm went straight across her stomach, but she cuddled closer to him. She wasn't sure if it was a good thing or not that the twins weren't moving yet. She didn't want him to pull away from her again.

Léan didn't seem to register how exactly he was touching her, and therefore he paid it no mind. He simply stayed close to her, still keeping an eye on things.

Glory stayed close to him, taking comfort in the contact. She was still afraid of him pushing her away again.

Léan held her, and then stared off into the distance, an absent look on his face. Something had just occurred to him, and he was mulling it over privately in his mind.

Glory could see he had something on his mind.

"What are you thinking about?" she asked softly. "And don't tell me nothing, I know better than that."

Léan blinked, and then shook his head. "It's nothing important. I'm just wondering where my parents have been all this time...understandably, my father would want to keep his distance from me..."

"You can go find them, if you'd like," Glory pointed out. She would follow him if he wanted her to, but she would probably end up being more of a burden than a help, all things considered.

Léan paled a bit and shook his head. As much as he missed his mother, he didn't want to be anywhere near his father. It was a conflict that would probably not be resolved without outside interference.

Glory nuzzled him a little.

"Why don't we go find somewhere to snuggle in for a bit, then?" she suggested.

Léan gave a great, heavy sigh and then nodded, semi-glumly. He felt bad about not going to visit his mother since her rescue, but he just couldn't risk being near his father any more than he absolutely had to be. And they were never apart.

Glory could tell he wasn't happy and sighed.

"Make up your mind," she said. "If you want to go and find them, then go. I doubt there will be a physical fight, not with your mother there."

"If I go, there will be a fight. It's inevitable. So, it's not even worth thinking about." Léan still sounded upset, but he shook his head, defiantly. "I'm not going..."

"But you want to," Glory said. "I know you do." She cuddled close to him. "I hate seeing you upset like this..."

"...I'll be fine after some rest. Let's just go before I change my mind, go after them, and end up getting hurt again. Or worse." Léan didn't elaborate on what exactly 'worse' was. But, it was semi-obvious...

He was being stubborn again.

"I just don't want you to be so upset," Glory said softly. "I'm not happy when you're not happy."

Léan huffed, stubbornly. "I'll be fine. It just bothers me that I can't speak to my own mother..." He paused. "Let's go find a place to rest."

"You're the one who says you can't," Glory pointed out. "I still think you should try to talk to her. You know I'll patch you back up if things go a bit south."

Léan shook his head, and looked away. "I'm not going to bother. I'm tired of fighting," he assured her, shortly.

"You said yourself that your father is different with your mother around," Glory said. She distinctly remembered him telling her that. "And last time you and he were in approximately the same breathing space, nothing happened." He insisted that she talk to her mother, so now she was going to insist on the same thing.
