"I just don't feel well. My head is killing me..." Léan was prone to getting headaches quite often, especially after an argument.
"Well, we'll be home soon, and then you can lay down and rest for a while," Glory said, starting the car. She knew it was easiest to sleep off a headache, so she would let him rest quietly on his own, if he wanted.
Léan nodded, resting his head against the window. He was still feeling a little odd...his head ached. All he wanted to do was get home and get some rest.
The drive home was short, and there wasn't any traffic. Glory pulled the car back into the driveway without any problem and killed the engine.
"Go on in and lay down," she said. She almost added that she would join him, but she hesitated. She wanted him to invite her rather than her inviting herself. |
Léan automatically reached out and grabbed her hand, expecting her to come with him unless she wanted to be on her own. He liked cuddling... "We should check on Viktor, first."
Glory squeezed his hand gently. That was all the invitation she'd been looking for.
"I'll check on him," she said. "Go lay down. I'll join you in a few minutes." |
Léan nodded, sniffing slightly, and quietly headed back inside. He went straight for the bedroom and plopped down in bed, curling up tightly. He already felt better laying down than he had sitting up.
Viktor, who still had his phone, was hurriedly texting away to someone while laying on the couch. Probably Curry. |
"Having fun?" Glory asked Viktor dryly. It didn't surprise her that he was on his phone.
"Nah...Curry won't pick up," Viktor informed her, concerned. "I know I still have minutes left. I'd like to tell him what happened, but if he's not picking up..."
"I don't think there's anything I can do about that," Glory pointed out. She couldn't exactly go running around all over town, she was pregnant and she needed to keep her childrens' well-being in mind.
"I'll just have to wait for him, I guess..." Viktor sounded rather upset that Curry wouldn't answer. But he would sooner or later...just not now...
((I'm heading to bed--I'm super tired...)) |
"I'm sure he'll call," Glory said. "Not everyone lives on their phone, you know."
Viktor scowled, then shoved his phone in his pocket. "Maybe..." The TV had long since been forgotten. He was too distracted by his worries for Curry, which rhymed rather nicely, to care about what was rolling on TV.
"Well, if he's screening calls, you can use my phone, if you want," Glory offered. "I'm willing to bet my number isn't all that familiar. Otherwise, I don't know what else I can do for you."
"I'll give him a bit. We'll see if he answers..." Viktor rested his head on the couch pillows, closing his eyes. "I think I'll rest for a while...even just little movements are tiring me out."
"You do that," Glory replied, rubbing her stomach a bit. The twins were moving around, and it was starting to get a bit distracting again. Absently, a few names came to mind. "I'm going to go lay down myself." Turning, she went back into her bedroom and slipped into bed next to her mate.
Léan had gotten himself quite comfortable already, and he stirred just a bit when she snuggled into bed with him. He had a nice, relaxed look on his face.
Glory snuggled close to him, tucking herself into his side. She did her best not to disturb him, and relaxed once she was comfortable.
Léan opened his eyes after a moment. "...If you want good name ideas, you should consult Arcturus rather than me," he offered her, idly. He himself was not the most creative of people, especially when it came to telling stories or making up names. Archie, on the other hand, had a wild and cheery imagination.
"I thought you were asleep," Glory murmured to him. She took one of his hands and laid it gently on her stomach. She at least wanted to pretend he cared about the children. "I can think of names, if I need to... I just want your opinion on them."
Léan didn't know if he cared or not, that was the bad part. He was just afraid of how he would be around children, and that he would hurt them. Plus, he found them kind of irritating until they reached the age of thirteen. "I can give you opinions, if you want...I just am not good at thinking up names for anything at all."
He still had a cool, nonchalant attitude about everything. |
"I have a few names in mind," Glory admitted. The twins were still moving, but she doubted he was paying attention to the little movements. She snuggled close to him.
Léan nodded--he wasn't paying attention to the movements at all. To him, paying attention to it seemed like useless, wasted effort. He was staring off into the distance slightly, the pains of his headache still present.
"We can talk about it later," Glory said softly. She could tell he was still feeling the headache. "Go on to sleep, you look like you could use it."
"No, no...if I just lay here and do nothing, I won't have much to distract my mind from the headache...I doubt I'll fall too deeply asleep with it, anyway..." Léan offered, gently. "We can talk for a while."
Besides, talking might stir up his imagination and allow a few names to pass through his mind. |
