"I just had a particularly jarring dream..." Léan hummed, curling up tightly. He wasn't in the mood to talk about it, it seemed..."

"Please talk to me?" Glory asked. "I want to help, but you have to let me."

Léan huffed, burying his face in his arms, and muttered something about his father. Betelgeuse was the whole reason why Léan was dead-set on thinking he would harm children if he was near them...

Glory leaned over and gave him a kiss. She understood why the dream upset him.

"There's one vital piece of information you're overlooking," she murmured to him. "You're not him."

Léan didn't respond to that. He wasn't Betelgeuse...but he was his son, and he was, in almost every way, like Betelgeuse. The thought had always scared him.

Glory could tell it was still bothering him and gave him as much comfort as she could.

"It's okay," she said softly.

"I don't think it is," Léan managed, his voice cracking just a bit. The pent-up tension, the fear...it was starting to become a little too much for him.

"Really, it's okay," Glory said. "You don't have anything to worry about." She hated seeing him so tense and upset, and it was starting to make her tense as well.

"That is easy for you to say." Léan hid his face beneath his arms and chewed on his bottom lip, apprehensively.

"You should believe me when I say it, then," Glory said. She moved one of his arms gently. "You won't hurt me, and you won't hurt our children. I won't let you."

Léan sighed, immediately looking away from her expression. "It's going to be difficult for me to believe that," he said, simply. "Very difficult..."

"Well, you'll be able to test it within the week, I'm sure," Glory replied softly. "I don't think the children are going to wait much longer... I've been having false contractions for the last eight or nine days. They won't be false soon."

Léan cleared his throat, pointedly looking towards the ceiling. "I have a feeling I shouldn't be in the room when this happens," he said, simply. Due to his nature, he was one to panic quickly, and he hated it when people screamed or cried. Definitely not a good idea to have him near her. His panicky attitude would made the whole situation worse.

"I guess I can't stop you..." Glory said softly. "I mean, I'd appreciate it if you were there, but if you don't want to be..." She wanted him there for support, but if he didn't want to be there, she couldn't make him stay.

Léan shifted, somewhat uncomfortably. "...My main issue is making the situation worse than it already is. I suppose if I had someone there to make me hold my tongue and relax..." he trailed off, wondering who that person could be.

"Normally, that would be me," Glory pointed out. "Not that I'll be much help..." And she didn't know of anyone else, really.

Léan rubbed his temples, seeming frustrated. "...Perhaps someone you're comfortable enough having in the room with you?" he asked, hopefully. "Anyone would do, really...all they would need to do is watch over you and make sure I don't make things worse with my panicking..."

"Aside from my immediate family, I don't know anyone well enough to ask them to do that," Glory pointed out. It wasn't that she didn't trust anyone else. It was that she couldn't ask anyone to do such a thing.

Léan frowned slightly. "...Why don't you try one of them, then?" he suggested, hesitantly. He just needed someone to force him to keep his cool.

"Who would you trust to be there?" Glory asked instead. Better someone he trusted, because the list of people he trusted was smaller than the list of people SHE trusted.

"It doesn't have to be someone I trust..." Léan decided, nodding firmly. "I don't care who it is, as long as they can keep me under control..."

"I think it should be someone you trust," Glory said. "Elsewise, you won't let them keep you under control, and I don't want to have to worry about you."

"I don't trust many people. That's not a good thing to go on," Léan reminded her, flatly. He trusted her, and his brother. Out of all the people who lingered around their beach, that was about it.

"Well, I can't force you to be there," Glory said. She rubbed her stomach a little. "If you don't want to be there, I can't make you. I think you should be, since these are your children, but I can't make you stay."

"I just need someone to keep me under control," Léan repeated, sounding irked. "Confide in the person you trust the most here...they can do it."
