Léan soon had relaxed enough to lay down and let Autumn take up some of his bedding in the process. He just wanted to rest and relax. However, he couldn't stop worrying that he would roll over in his sleep and end up harming her.
Autumn had already dozed off against him and was curled up comfortably on the bedding when he settled down with her. It was different than sleeping next to her brother, but she was still comfortable.
Léan absently curled his tail around both of them--he liked to use his tail as a pillow. He completely settled down once his head was resting on the side of his tail.
Glory watched them and smiled slightly. Autumn snuggled closer to her father and kept sleeping, obviously feeling safe and comfortable. The two looked adorable curled up together.
Léan seemed relaxed enough, but he opened his eyes every once in a while to make sure that he hadn't rolled over and crushed her.
Glory curled up close to them, Orion still with her. She still glanced at Eden every so often, but otherwise let her amuse herself.
Eden eventually grew lonely with both of her cousins gone. She nimbly swam over to settle herself between Glory and Léan, satisfied now that she was no longer alone.
Glory let Eden get comfortable, and then laid Orion down so he could keep napping. Everyone seemed to be getting comfortable.
Léan was the first to fall asleep, of course. That's all he wanted to do at the moment, being caught in what for him was still a stressful situation.
Glory didn't fall asleep, but she did rest quietly so she didn't disturb any of the others. She would make sure that nothing happened to the children, so that Léan could sleep.
Léan slept quite well despite the fact that he had been worrying about Autumn's safety, with her being so close to him and all.
Autumn herself was sleeping well, too. She was warm and comfy, and she was cuddled up with one of her parents.
Orion was the first to wake up out of all of them. He was bored and hungry. He didn't cry though--he sniffed a bit and swished his tail around.
Glory hadn't gone to sleep, so she heard him when he woke up. Sitting up, she gently picked him up and held him.
Orion whined and complained. His tail was flicking about uselessly--he was used to being able to kick his legs around...
Glory rocked him and hummed to him softly to try to calm him down so that he wouldn't wake the others.
"We'll teach you how to swim soon, baby," she murmured to him. |
Orion seemed puzzled by her words. Eventually, he calmed himself down and settled for an irritable pout. That pout looked eerily familiar to the one Léan often had on his face.
Glory held him close and worked on keeping him calm. She'd known his good mood wouldn't last too much longer.
Orion eventually closed his eyes and settled down. He was getting hungry, and that was probably fueling his attitude springing up again.
Glory noticed he didn't settle down completely, and decided to try to feed him. If he was hungry, then all would be well, and if he wasn't the she would just keep holding him.
Orion was hungry, but not as much as he usually was. He didn't want as much as he usually did, but the moment he was finished he seemed much more docile than before and curled up to go back to sleep.
Once Orion was finished, Glory let him get comfortable and then she curled up next to Léan again. She made sure Eden was between them still, and that Autumn was still napping peacefully. Only once she was sure everyone was alright did she relax.
Eden was still snugly between them. Léan was probably going to wake up soon--he was stirring ever so slightly.
Glory hadn't been expecting him to sleep long anyways, not with one of the children so close to him. She kept an eye on them both as he woke up, though she knew he wouldn't hurt Autumn.
Léan took his sweet old time rousing himself out of sleep. When he was finally mostly awake, he gingerly moved himself away from Autumn so he could stretch.
