((Weird... I didn't mean to double-post earlier. the first one told me it didn't post right))

"Well, I can vouch for the stunning part," Glory replied. "It made me completely forget what I was doing. But if you think about it, in the old days, what man would admit to being lured in my another male? That's why all the stories are about females."

"Yes, but the song affected females at sea, as well..." Léan murmured, still seeming a little puzzled. "I suppose there weren't many females at sea, then."

"Nah, I read somewhere that they never let women on the boats," Glory said. "Bad luck, or something like that. Most women on ships and such cross-dressed and passed themselves off for boys."

Léan hummed slightly, nodding. He could feel an awkward silence coming on, so he cleared his throat. "We should get back to shell-hunting, unless you'd like to do something else? We could visit the reef, but it is far out, and it's not nearly as beautiful unless you're underwater..."

"Should I find myself some ear plugs?" Glory teased as she used her toes to pick up a shell that she dug up from the bottom. Transferring it to her hand, she brushed off some lingering sand and brought it to the surface to look at it before handing it to him.

Léan went a little pink. "Not if you don't want to..." he mumbled, taking the shell. He started a small collection on top of one of the rocks, in a small cavern.

"You know I'm just teasing you," Glory said. "Honestly, I just write it off as one of those things that's good to know but isn't really information I can do anything with."

"I see..." Léan ducked under again to look for more shells. He didn't know what else to do--other than swimming and playing around in the water, there wasn't much for them to do, unless they tried new things...

"Is something wrong?" Glory asked. "You've gone quiet, and you only tend to do that when you're upset or thinking about something."

"Oh no, I'm fine." Léan had resurfaced with a nicely curled snail's shell. "I'm just wondering what all we can do, now."

"Alright," Glory said. Taking a breath, she ducked under the water and started to look around for pretty shells. Slowly, she let the breath out as she was underwater, buying herself a few more seconds before she had to stand up to take another breath.

As Léan grew more relaxed, it was obvious that underwater, he was used to singing by himself--he continued to sing every once in a while. It made sea life friendlier, and he liked to sing. He just wasn't used to having humans around to hear it underwater.

Now that Glory knew what she was hearing, she was able to tune out enough of it to kepp focused on looking for shells. She still heard it, and she had to keep reminding herself to do things like go back up for air, but she was able to focus enough that the little pile of shells and stones was steadily growing. She grinned when she found bits of volcanic glass in the sand and put them on the pile as well.

After the pile started to overflow, Léan stretched himself out, floating on his back on the surface of the water. "Well...that looks like enough for now. What would you like to do, now?"

"You know, I think we're the only ones in the world who could be on a tropical island and be bored," Glory commented as she sat down in the shallows. "There has to be something around here to do."

"There is a coral reef nearby, but unless you can stay underwater, it's not that pretty..." Léan was aware that some humans could go underwater with the help of technology, but he didn't know the mechanics of scuba, and he certainly wasn't aware that there was a scuba-diving rental store nearby.

"Well, why don't you go exploring?" Glory suggested. "There has to be enough around the islands to keep you occupied for a while, and I could always take a walk into the town and do some shopping." She didn't really want to be away from him, but she figured a bit of exploring would do him some good. At any rate, he wouldn't be bored. She would find something to do with herself until he got back.

Léan frowned, then nodded. "I will explore and see if there is anything interesting around here," he informed her. Then, he turned and ducked underwater. He headed out into deeper waters.

Glory watched him go and then stood up, heading back to the beach. Drying off, she went inside and put on a pair of shorts before heading towards the small tourist-town. She wandered around a little, looking at some of the little shops for a while, but not buying anything yet. A few flower hair ties caught her eye, and she made a mental note to come back later, when she wasn't going to be jumping back into the water afterwards.

She walked down the beach a bit, still not going to the really populated area. She wasn't one for crowds. One person can be calm and reasonable, but people are idiotic in large enough numbers. And she just didn't want to deal with that. Absently, she made her way back down to their secluded area of the beach.

Léan returned a few minutes after she did, looking as bored as ever. He perked up when he saw her. "Hello...the only other interesting activities I can find involve sightseeing..." He paused. "...Isn't there a technology you humans can use to breathe underwater for a time?"

"There is, but you need a lisence to dive without a guide," Glory said, sitting on a rock. "There are classes involved and other such things."

Léan's brow furrowed. "...Surely Viktor's money can find a way around that? I've seen him swim using that...that technology before. When I was with Selena--they went on a...scoo-buh trip, or something like that. I went with, but I didn't participate. I don't think they had licenses, and they had the equipment..."

"I don't know him well enough to ask him to bribe anyone," Glory said, "and I don't know how to use the equipment, anyways."

Léan hummed, then shrugged. He seemed bored. There were so many things he couldn't do on a tropical island because they involved heavily-populated places on land, and he felt sort of left out.

Slipping her shorts off, and making sure her bikini doesn't slip in the process, Glory climbed up onto one of the rocks. Dangling her feet in the water, and grinned and kicked some water at him.
