Marie shook her head slightly. She went to sit at the table, not really wanting to stand anymore. "It was just...he wasn't angry for the right reason. It seemed like he wanted to get married to..." She seemed to become angry and sad at the same time. "....to own me.."

Marie sighed heavily, looking at her clasped hands on the table. "I know...I knew that when we started. But, I actually got him to change a little bit. He doesn't just force his will on me so much anymore. Most of what I do is my choice." She glanced at him, then looked at her hands again. "I love him, Leo. But...I don't know how much more I can take of the possession instincts he has. I mean, he even did something to you that he could kill you if you ever tried anything towards me. What kind of shit is that, anyway?" She shook her head as small tears ran down the side of her face.

Marie looked at him when he sat beside her. "Well...its not like I can back out of it now." The tears didn't stop running down her face though, even though she'd looked like she put on a brave face. "If I cannot last, the worst that can happen is I'll die...right?"

Marie didn't resist Leo's help, but her tears didn't stop. "I know he loves me...I know. Trust me, I'd be gone if he didn't." She looked at him, her eyes desperate for him to tell her what to do. She was in a position where she would do anything to make the pain go away. "Help me..."

Marie looked so depressed. "Even if I could leave, he would hunt me down to get his children. I could never leave them if I left him...that would be the only option." She looked at her tea with almost emotionless voice now, as if she was dying inside. "I could stay with him and my children and be miserable all my life...which is very long." She shook her head. "That is my only option. If I left, he would blame you and kill you. I cannot let that happen." She looked at him, her gaurds were up again and she seemed almost resolved what to do. "I'm sorry for involving you, Leo...you've never had feelings more than friendship for me and I wouldn't accept it. I'm...I'm so sorry..."

Marie hesitantly squeezed his hand to make sure he was paying complete attention. "Do not be sorry. Just listening to me has helped me decide what to do." She reached up and kissed his cheek softly, then slowly rose to her feet.

Marie looked at him, a tinge of sadness in her eyes. "I cannot tell you, Leo."

Marie smiled softly at him. "I couldn't kill him if I wanted to, Leo. I don't have the strength physically or mentally. I was forced to do it once and it tore me apart." The only thing she regretted was not listening to Leo back then. She didn't even think she had the courage to do what she was thinking of doing.

Marie just looked at him, some sort of strange look in her eye. "I'm not sure if its worse or better than what I'm going to do." She gently hugged him, then went to the nursery.

Marie looked at Dimmest, then her eyes trailed down to her daughter. She still hadn't named her, but she would stick by her decision of letting Leo name her. She didn't say anything to him, but just stood there staring at the baby. After a moment, she spoke with a soft emotionless voice. "You wish to possess me." It was more an accusation than a question.

Marie looked at him, her eyes saying different things. "No. No, I do not. I want to love you and be loved in return. I want to be your wife, but I will not be owned...or ruled...or possessed like some common trinket or slave." There was a little venom in her words towards the end. She did almost feel like he controlled everything she did and said and thought. Maybe she was imagining it?

Marie actually looked frustrated. "Now? I only just realized exactly what the feeling in the pit of my stomach was. I felt this way for awhile. I hate what you've done to Leo, I am afraid to even talk to him sometimes for fear that you would become overly jealous and kill him on the spot. I cannot talk to my friends anymore because you do not like them. I haven't talked to my best friend since you left me before...I feel trapped, Dimmest. I don't want you to leave...but I cannot be trapped."

Marie almost stamped her foot like a child. She held herself back though and held in her words. Her face almost turned purple with the attempt. After a moment, it took her a little effort to breathe. "Now listen here, demon. You can either release Leo from whatever curse you've brough on him or I will..." She was still pissed, but her sadness was coming through it. "...I will not marry you...I cannot marry a man that doesn't trust me and that I cannot trust in return." She almost looked like she would cry, but she held it back and tried to stay angry.
