Damien shrugged. "If Rose asks, I'll tell her. But I really don't know what that crazy bitch was doing back here. I haven't seen her for years."

"No idea," Taylor replied with a bit of a shrug. "She wasn't talking much by the time I had her attention. Didn't she say something about obligations when you were talking to her, though?"

"Yeah, she did. Which doesn't make sense. I don't have any left, that's why I moved out here." Damien frowned. He'd have to go check his records later, just to be sure.

"What kind of obligations?" Taylor asked. Hey, it could be important.

"Most of them were just regular debts. Some money, a favor or two, that sort of thing. Hers was an agreement our parents made, a sort of alliance. But she released me of that before I moved here." Damien shrugged.

Taylor blinked.

"Like a betrothal?" he asked.

"Pretty much, only without the marriage part." Damien shrugged. "Neither of us wanted to marry, and our parents wanted us to go find more of our own to go settle down with some day. And clearly even the alliance didn't work. Our parents haven't been on good terms for... a while."

"Except clearly you didn't settle down with one of your own," Taylor observed. In fact, Damien was trying to settle down with Rose, from what he could tell.

Damien shrugged. "I haven't told them that yet. And they probably won't mind too much. Once they get used to the idea." He paused for a moment. "And besides, her family wouldn't care. Like I said, the alliance didn't work and I was released from that."

"Well, Leta isn't a problem anymore," Taylor said. He smirked just a bit. "If your mother is like most, she'll be pestering you for grand-cubs soon. I hope Rose knows that."

Damien snorted. "Oh she's already asked a few times if I have plans to get married before she and Pops retire." He rolled his eyes. Honestly. Mothers.

Taylor couldn't help but grin and raise an eyebrow.

"Well, do you?" he asked.

"Probably." Damien shrugged. "I'll wait a little bit longer before I ask, though." Because he was only about 80% sure she'd say yes. He wanted to be closer to 99% sure.

"Like until the whole ex-girlfriend-the-siren thing blows over?" Taylor replied. He stretched a bit. "Well, whenever you gather the balls to ask, let me know. For now, I'm going to go check on Sera."

Damien's eyebrows shot up at his wording but he just nodded and watched him go. Clearly Taylor was still high from feeding.

Sera was still curled up in bed, trying to sleep off the effects.

Taylor went over to her quietly and touched her forehead gently, checking her temperature. She seemed like she was resting well enough, so he didn't want to wake her.

Sera grumbled a bit and rolled over onto her stomach, getting comfortable again. She was not going to be a happy camber in the morning, though.

Sera didn't seem sick or anything, so Taylor brushed some hair out of her face gently and then left the room again. He would stick around until the next day, and then he would see how much damage control he would have to do.

Damien had already settled himself in Rose's room in a chair, just waiting for her to wake up.

Sera didn't wake up until the next morning, and then she yawned, groaned, and pulled a pillow over her head. Nope, she did not want to get up anymore.

Rose drifted in and out of wakefulness all morning, waking up for a few moments every hour or so and falling asleep again. Her sleep was restless when she wasn't waking up, and she seemed to keep reaching out for something that wasn't there.

Taylor ended up not sleeping much at all, too wired from his feeding. So he spent the night sitting outside of Sera's room, waiting for her to wake up. When he heard her moving around, he stood up and knocked softly.

Damien crept over closer to her, looking down at her. Gently he brushed some hair out of her face, pushing it back out of the way for her. He wasn't sure what else he should do, since he didn't want to wake her up and cut her rest short.

Sera groaned. "Come in..." Her voice was muffled, since she still had the pillow over her head, but she moved it enough to see Taylor come in.

Rose stirred slightly when he touched her, and she opened her eyes a bit.

"Damien...?" she asked, just to make sure she wasn't seeing things.

"How do you feel?" Taylor asked softly as he walked quietly into Sera's room. Going over, he sat on the edge of the bed and moved the pillow enough to check her temperature again.

"I'm here." Damien smiled a bit, keeping his voice quiet. "You want any aspirin?"

Sera looked up at him rather blearily. "Like I have a hangover after getting in a bar fight," she mumbled honestly. "What the hell happened?"

"I want my head to stop pounding," Rose muttered into her pillow. God, she ached, and her head was throbbing hard enough she could hear her pulse in her ears.

"A siren," Taylor replied softly. "She's been taken care of. Do you want me to get you any painkillers?"

Damien took that as a yes and got up, going to the bathroom only briefly to get her some pain killers and a glass of water before he returned.

"Come on, sweets. Sit up so you can take these."

"Please." Sera put her arm over her eyes to block out what little light there was.
