"They'll get over this," Damien said quietly. "Taylor likes her too much. He's not about to let her go now." Which was very true. It had been a while since he'd seen his friend so attracted to someone.
Sera nodded. "Yeah. Back home." She sighed quietly and headed back to the car. She knew logically that alcohol wouldn't really help but oh well. She was in too many knots to care at the moment. |
Rose sighed. She knew Sera was going to tear herself and Taylor up about this for a while. She only hoped Taylor was stubborn enough to hang on until Sera was done sulking.
Taylor nodded and took her back home. Rose and Damien were long gone, he could tell, so he set the bottles in the kitchen. "You go get comfortable," he said to Sera. "I can take care of the animals tonight." |
"So, are you actually hungry or do you just want to relax?" Damien looked over at her as he led the way into his house.
Sera nodded and went to go change into a tank top and sweatpants, letting her hair loose and getting comfortable before she went to go get a glass, ice, and the Baileys. |
"Just relaxing sounds good," Rose replied as she took her shoes off and left her bag with them by the door. "Even though I know I slept all day, just settling in sounds wonderful."
Damien nodded. "Alright. I can turn on a movie if you want, or we can just go up and lounge on my bed." He shrugged. Either one was fine with him, really.
"Same difference, since I doubt we'll pay attention to a movie," Rose replied. That was typically how it went, anyways.
Damien chuckled. "Alright. Movie for the moment, then. And we'll see when you get more tired." He walked over and picked her up easily, grinning as he carried her into the living room.
Rose squeaked a bit in surprise and clung to him as he carried her into the living room. She clung to him when he settled on the couch with her, too, but that was voluntary.
Damien chuckled and managed to extricate himself just long enough to set up a movie before he went right back to her, settling her on his lap.
Rose snuggled in with him, wedging herself between him and the back of the couch. She wanted to get as close to him as she could.
Damien was more than happy with that, and quite content to settle down and just watch movies with her all night.
Taylor, on the other hand, was keeping an eye on Sera as she worked her way through the bottle of Bailey's. He didn't try to stop her yet; she kind of deserved it after what he'd sprung on her. But he did keep an eye on her.
Sera made it through most of the bottle, though it took her a while, and she just sort of stayed curled in her bed. She had the radio on for some quiet noise, so it wouldn't be silent in the house, at least.
Taylor sat against the wall outside her door, to give her at least some privacy. He doubted she wanted him in there at the moment, but he was there just in case she called him.
Sera ended up drinking herself silly, and after a little while the alcohol lifted her mood. So she switched to nicer music and flopped on her bed, humming under her breath. Because she was a happy drunk.
Taylor could tell when her mood lifted a little, and relaxed a bit outside her door. For the moment, it seemed like she would be alright, at least until the hangover set in.
Sera ended up drifting off there, half-asleep for the rest of the night. And the next morning she regretted it, but she was feeling better.
Ish. |
Taylor had ended up sleeping on the couch that night, after slipping into the bedroom and leaving water and painkillers for Sera. He figured she'd have tried to send him to the couch, anyways, if he'd tried to settle into bed with her, so he just went to the couch on his own.
Sera woke up sort of grouchy the next morning, although the light and the painkillers did help. She stumbled down the stairs after a few minutes to go make food, glancing over at Taylor as she did so.
Taylor was awake when she came downstairs, although he was still stretched out on the couch. He'd taken care of the animals for the morning already, and was more than willing to wait until Sera had eaten before he tried to talk to her.
Sera made enough pancakes for both of them, since pancakes sounded good to her, and set two plates at the table after a moment. She put Taylor's plate across from hers, though, instead of next to her. She knew he was watching anyway, so she got out butter and syrup and sat down to eat.
Taylor was a little surprised at the subtle invitation to breakfast, but after a moment he got up and joined her.
"Feeling any better?" he asked softly as he sat down. |
"Yes. Sort of." Sera stabbed some pancake so she could eat it. "Somewhat." Because she was still too tangled up to think straight, but she was feeling better.
"I can go home, if you want me to," Taylor offered, looking down a bit. He hated that he'd upset her so much and couldn even do anything to fix it.
Sera shrugged. "If you want. This is just going to take time, Taylor." She looked down at her pancakes again.
