"I dunno," Rose said teasingly, "I remember there being a pack of pretty mangy coyotes that ran through the area back home." She leaned against Damien when he put an arm around her, but still blushed slightly when he mentioned he was already working on settling down.

Dante and Damien both laughed, and Damien settled her there more firmly.

"You realize Mum's gonna flip when she realizes you're here, right?"

"Yeah, I know. I'll head out back for that in a bit."

Dante nodded. "Alright, then. What can I get for you, lass?"

Rose blinked and looked at the menu again. She'd forgotten that she still needed to pick something.

"See, you both distracted me," she accused teasingly.

"That's what we do." Dante grinned. "Unfortunately Mum won't let us work shirtless anymore."

Damien swatted him with a playful glare. "Oi. My girlfriend. Don't make me teach you a lesson, pup."

"You want to work shirtless, go apply to Chippendales," Rose retorted. It was way too easy to get in on the family-style teasing.

"I did. Actually Dam and I both did, before he moved. The other guys got too jealous of us." Dante grinned.

"I'll bet," Rose replied, leaning against Damien a bit. Because yes, she could joke around with his cousin, but she still loved Damien.

Damien chuckled and kept his arm around her, content to stay there for the moment.

"I'll give you two another minute to figure out what you'd like." Dante grinned at them and stood, moving away to go take care of another table.

"Your family is the same as mine," Rose commented to Damien. "I get how you were so comfortable with the Clan now."

Damien chuckled. "Well, there aren't quite as many in my family as there are in yours, but it's very similar." He grinned at her. "Now you see what I deal with every year for the family reunion?"

"Yeah, but when you wrestle with your cousins, I think the playing field is a little more even," Rose replied, grinning a bit. "When I wrestle with my cousins, I lose."

Damien snickered. "This is true. Actually when I wrestle with them I usually win." He grinned. "And you'd better figure out what you want before he comes back or he'll order for you."

"No, I think I know what I want now," Rose replied. "You both were just distracting me before."

Damien chuckled and settled down there, keeping her against his side. He was already more relaxed.

Dante made his way over to them again about ten minutes later. "Decided yet?"

"I have," Rose replied. She only briefly glanced at the menu before giving him her order and handing the menu to him.

"I'll have my usual," Damien said with a shrug, handing over his menu as well.

"You got it." Dante moved away again.

"You'll probably be seeing them again later. Just so you're forewarned."

"I'll believe that," Rose replied. She grinned a bit. "They don't seem like the type to let things like this be."

"Oh no. Not at all." Damien rolled his eyes. "But they're family, so I put up with them." He paused. "Most of the time."

Rose grinned and leaned against him, putting her head on his shoulder for a bit.

"Thanks for bringing me," she said.

"My pleasure." Damien smiled, running his fingers through her hair. "I figured it was about time you met some of my family, since I've met yours now."

"I hope I made a good enough impression, then," Rose said as she closed her eyes a bit. She liked it when he ran his fingers through her hair.

"Oh yes. That was definitely a good impression." Damien grinned. Her teasing back had been just the right thing; he knew that the others might not necessarily liked that he'd chosen a human, but she did fit in with them.

"Good," Rose replied. "I'm glad." It meant that things might go a little smoother with the rest of his family, which was good for them both.

"Me too." Damien smiled a little and stayed there until their food arrived.

"We close down at nine," Dante said, looking at Damien. "So you better be back here after that."

"Don't worry, I'll be here." Damien grinned briefly.

Rose just let them make their plans. These ones didn't seem to include her, but that didn't bother her much. She would be perfectly capable of lounging in a hotel room for the evening if she had to.
