He really was asking her out. The thought made Rose's heart flutter a little bit.
"A movie sounds great," she replied. "Well, why don't you pick a convenient time for you?" Taylor suggested. "Say Friday or Saturday?" |
Damien smiled. "Excellent. Was there anything out that you wanted to see or shall we decide when we get there?"
"Um. Saturday's good, I think," Sera said, biting her lower lip. |
"I'm not sure what's playing," Rose replied. The thought of a date kind of blanket out the rest of her mind. "Maybe we should decide when we get there."
"Was there any particular place you liked?" Taylor asked. "You're allowed to refuse, you know. I just thought I would be fun to do something together." |
Damien nodded. "Sounds good to me. I honestly hadn't looked to see what's playing right now." He smiled, a little sheepishly.
"No, you just surprised me, is all," Sera said with a quick smile. "And I'm up to going anywhere. What do you like?" |
"What kind of movies do you like?" Rose asked. She was curious to see if their interests overlapped at all.
"Well, I know this good Italian place, if you're interested," Taylor said. "And I know a nice Asian place, too." |
"Some types of comedy are good, action, adventure, horror can be fun. Sci-fi can be pretty good, too." Damien shrugged. "Just no chick flicks."
"Either one sounds good to me," Sera said with a smile. "So Saturday at, say, six? Or would you prefer later?" |
"Well, you're no fun," Rose teased. "I like chick flicks sometimes. But I do like scifi, so we have some common ground there."
"Six is fine with me," Taylor replied. "Where should we meet? Or would you like me to pick you up?" |
"Good. I'd hate to drag you into a movie you wouldn't like," Damien said with a grin.
"Either way is fine. I can drive, if that's easier for you. Although you'll have to tell me where we're going." She smiled a little, teasingly. |
"You don't like chick flicks, and I don't like horror, so I'd say we're even," Rose said. She was slowly getting more comfortable teasing and joking with him.
"It's no problem for me to pick you up, if you want me to," Taylor said. He grinned. "That way, I can surprise you with were we end up for dinner." |
Damien chuckled. "Sounds fair to me. I'll look up what movies are playing later tonight, so that way we don't pick one and it turns out to be a horror movie, or a chick flick."
Sera smiled. "Sounds good to me." She smiled at him. |
"Sounds like a good idea," Rose replied. She blushed slightly when she realized she'd been flirting with him the entire time.
Taylor smiled back. "Then it sounds like a plan," he said. |
Damien grinned at her. "Excellent. I'll tell you tomorrow, then." He enjoyed the blush spreading across her cheeks. It was so easy to make her blush, too...
Way too much fun. "Cool." Sera stretched a bit. "Oh goodie, looks like we're going to be released soon." People were slowly starting to drift out. |
Rose heard Sera's comment and glanced around. The room already looked emptier as people filtered out.
"I guess that makes it our cue to book it out of here," she said. She looked back at Damien. "I enjoyed talking to you," she said to him. Taylor glanced around briefly as well, and then smiled at Sera. "I'm glad I was able to distract you long enough, then," he said. "Saturday, then?" |
Damien grinned and nodded. "Same here. I'm glad I ran into you." He offered her a smile. "I'll see you tomorrow."
"Yup. So don't forget." Sera smiled and winked, starting to head over to the exit. |
Rose nodded, still blushing slightly.
"Right, I'll see you tomorrow," she said. Then she turned and went to follow Sera. "Trust me, I won't forget," Taylor assured her, grinning. "I'll see you then." |
Damien watched her leave before he glanced over at Taylor.
"So, did I hear you hitting on her, or were you just practicing?" Sera grinned over at Rose once she caught up. "I take it from the red in your cheeks and the slightly dazed look that he asked you out." |
Rose blinked when she realized the question was directed at her and blushed more.
"Hush, you," she said to Sera. Taylor shrugged. "And if I was?" he asked. "You said yourself I'm an attention whore." Though if he really thought about it, he would realize that the thought of siphoning off of Sera hadn't even crossed his mind. |
Sera laughed quietly and moved over to the car, unlocking it and sliding into the driver's seat. "So, home or ice cream run?"
Damien chuckled and shook his head. "I'm going to head home," he said, glancing up at the sky automatically. "It's getting close to the full moon, and I want to go run." |
"Ice cream," Rose replied. "Ice cream sounds really good."
Taylor nodded. "Go on," he said. "Let me know if you end up somewhere without a change of clothes. I'll show up to point and laugh and toss you a pair of pants." He grinned. |
"Ice cream it is." Sera grinned and drove over to the nearest ice cream place, parking and heading over. She held the door for Rose, as usual.
Damien rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah. Like you've never been caught in a woman's bedroom naked before," he teased. |
Rose went in and went up to the counter, waiting for Sera. She knew what her friend liked by now, but she still wanted to wait for her.
Taylor grinned. "Ah, but situations like that usually tend to turn out fairly well for all involved," he replied. He waved a hand. "Go on out. You look like you're getting twitchy." |
Sera followed Rose over, picking out her favorite ice cream and ordering a scoop of that on a cone. Then she pulled out her wallet.
Damien nodded and took off, going to his car and driving back to his place before he shifted and took off. |
Rose ordered her favorite flavor and pulled out her own wallet. Once she had paid, she sat down with Sera.
"So what were you and Taylor talking about?" she asked before Sera could start teasing her again. Once Damien was gone, Taylor got into his car and headed home himself. |
"He asked me out," Sera said calmly. "Well, kind of. He asked if I wanted to do something, and we agreed on dinner."
|
"Where are you going to dinner?" Rose asked. She was curious now, since she hadn't really been paying attention to her friend flirting. She'd been a bit preoccupied.
