"Actually, no, Taylor did," Rose replied with a small grin. "He's in the other room trying to give Sera another little rodent for her collection." She shook her head. "It's not my fault if the thing gets eaten."

"You said you liked hamsters," Taylor pointed out mildly, holding out the cage for her.

"Ah, I see he took my advice." Damien grinned. "We're trying to get him back in Sera's good graces.

"But that's not what I'm here about. Get dressed so we can get going."

"I did," Sera admitted, taking the cage with a little smile. "Thanks, Taylor. Really. You didn't have to."

"What do you mean?" Rose asked. "Where are we going?" Not that she minded, she liked spending time with him.

"I wanted to, though," Taylor replied. He grinned and added, "can't I do something nice for you?"

"It's a surprise." Damien grinned. "Go do whatever you need to do."

Sera let out a theatrical sigh. "Yes, I suppose you can." She set the hamster cage down next to the rat cage, letting it get settled in.

Rose nodded and went upstairs to get ready.

"Well, go on upstairs and get properly dressed," Taylor said to Sera. "I'm going to take you out for lunch and then we're going to go out and get whatever you need for the hamster. I figured you would want to choose those things for yourself."

Damien chuckled quietly and stayed where he was, leaning against a wall to wait for her.

Sera nodded and went to go get dressed, pulling on jeans and a t-shirt. She didn't think she'd need anything nicer.

Rose quickly put on a t-shirt and jeans. She ran a brush through her hair and braided it, then went back down stairs.

"Ready," she said.

Taylor leaned against the wall and waited for Sera.

Damien smiled when he saw her. "Excellent. Let's get going." He opened the door for her with a little grin.

Sera thumped down the stairs a moment later, pulling her hair into a messy ponytail. "Okay, I'm ready."

Rose went out the door and waited for him by the car. It was a nice day out, so she didn't mind waiting.

Taylor grinned.

"Alright, then," he said. "Let's get going, I think I managed to block Damien in."

Damien opened her door for her before he got in and honked once. Taylor's car was blocking the way out.

Sera laughed when she heard the honk. "Naturally you did." She went out to his car, locking the front door behind her once they were out.

Rose couldn't help but laugh a bit.

"Sorry, our driveway isn't made for more than two cars," she said.

Once Sera was in the car, Taylor turned it on and pulled out of the driveway so that Damien could get out as well.

"That's okay. It gives me an excuse to honk at him." Damien grinned at her mischievously before pulling out.

"By the way, what happened to demon-cat?"

Sera chuckled and settled in to her seat, shaking her head. "So where are we going?"

"I take it you noticed the distinct lack of demon-spawn," Rose replied. "Dad came by and picked him up again. He wasn't my cat, after all."

"We're going out for lunch, first," Taylor said. "At least, if you want to. After that, I figured we could go out and get you what you need for your new pet."

"That sucks," Damien said. "Well, it's a good thing I was planning on this already. You have any preferences for lunch?"

"That sounds good to me," Sera said, getting comfy. "I can just imagine the havok the hamster's going to wreak."

"Surprise me," Rose replied. She was curious what he meant by having planned for her having one less cat, but she waited to see what he would do.

"Considering Damien is about to give Rose a kitten?" Taylor said. "I would keep the hamster away from that. I can only imagine a cat seeing the hamster in a ball and thinking that it's a toy with a treat inside."

"Alright." Damien turned and headed another direction, driving quietly until he parked in front of a little Italian place. "They have great pizza for lunch here with a salad bar."

"Oh I'm still surprised that her other cat hasn't discovered the rats and the ferret." Sera shook her head.

"Sounds great," Rose said. Really, she wasn't picky about it, as long as they got to spend time together. "So, what did you have planned for today?"

"Who knows," Taylor replied. "Maybe the cat has and just doesn't care. Apparently, some cats are like that, at least according to our resident expert."

"Well, we're going to have lunch and then go somewhere for a surprise," Damien said with a grin. "And then I figured if you wanted I could cook dinner for us."

Sera chuckled. "He would know, wouldn't he?" She rolled her eyes, amused.

"You can cook?" Rose asked. She grinned. "You just keep getting more perfect," she teased. "What kind of surprise were you planning?"

"Hey, it's useful from time to time," Taylor said. "I know there have been times I wished I could do what he does. Though I doubt he's ever thought the same of me, but that's typical."

Damien laughed quietly. "Oh no. You have to wait and see, sweets." He grinned over at her.

"Hey, I know several guys who would love to have sex without commitment," Sera teased. "Not so many that want to turn into giant cats a couple nights a month."

"That's not fair," Rose said, mock-pouting.

Taylor just rolled his eyes.

"You know, he joked about making me give you a tiger instead of a hamster," he said. "I told him he would be jealous when Rose adopted it instead, because there's only room for one giant cat at the foot of her bed."

"I'll make up for it," Damien said as he opened the door to the restaurant for her.

"Hell no. If I get a tiger it is mine." Sera grinned. "Any big animal is mine, and I don't share very well."

"I'll hold you to that," Rose warned as she went inside.

Taylor just raised an eyebrow at Sera.

"Please do," Damien said, letting her sit first as they were led to a booth inside. "Get whatever you'd like; it's on me."

Sera looked over at him and smiled innocently. "So where are we going for lunch?"

"You don't have to," Rose said as she sat down. She was perfectly content paying for her own meal if she had to.

"Wherever you like," Taylor said. "You've been to a bunch of my favorite places, where do you want to go?"
