"Yeah, not really," Rose agreed. She let the kitten knead her leg, not minding that the kittens little claws pulled at her jeans.
"I have seen a snake rolling around in a hot bath, though," Sera said with an amused smile. "That was one happy snake."
Rose snickered.
"I can imagine," she said. She kept scratching the kitten's ears, and the kitten continued to purr hard enough that she was vibrating. |
Sera chuckled at the kitten and shook her head.
"You're not really using that extra room upstairs, are you?" |
"No, why?" Rose asked. As far as she knew, the spare room was still sitting empty.
"I was thinking of converting it into a library, getting some bookcases and maybe a desk. My books don't all fit in my room anymore."
"I try really hard not to take work home with me," Rose teased. "You're making that difficult."
"Well given the fact that most of my books are reading books and you read them too, I think it works." Sera smirked.
Rose rolled her eyes and sighed.
"I'll organize everything once it's there," she said. "Don't be surprised if they aren't in the order you left them in, though. I'm going to make it make proper sense." |
"When I have the room, my books are ordered by genre, by author's last name, then by number in the series if there is a series." Sera grinned briefly. "I like to keep my books organized so I can find then when I'm looking for one in particular."
"Alphabetized by author, and then by title," Rose replied. "I think numerically by series is better, but officially, it's all alphabetical."
"For series, definitely in series order. Otherwise, by alphabetically by title." Sera shrugged. "Personal preference."
"I don't blame you for that one," Rose replied. She petted the sleeping kitten in her lap.
Sera smiled a little. "I think I'm gonna take a shower before we head out."
"Go ahead," Rose said. "I already did, so it's all yours."
"Sweet." Sera got up and headed upstairs, turning on the shower to let it get warm before she got in.
Rose just relaxed on the couch with a book. It was nice to have a little bit of quiet.
Sera came back down nearly forty minutes later, her hair tied back and in new clean clothes. "We just about ready to go?"
"Just let me brush out my hair and put shoes on," Rose replied, carefully moving the kitten off of her lap and getting up. The kitten yawned widely and stretched, then jumped down off the couch and went off to find something to amuse herself with.
Sera nodded and got her own shoes and socks on before she picked up her purse, waiting for Rose.
Rose went and quickly brushed out her hair, pulling it back, and then slipping on a pair of shoes. Grabbing her purse, she went back out to where Sera was waiting.
"Alright, let's go." |
"Awesome." Sera grinned and went out to her car, waiting for Rose to get in before she started driving to the nearest Chinese food place.
Rose went and got into the car. She didn't mind Sera driving, and let her pick the place they got food.
Sera chose a place they both knew and loved and parked before she headed for the door.
Rose followed her into the building.
"It's nice to have just a girl's night," she said. |
