Taylor slept lightly all night, so he woke up just before she did.
"I'm guessing you're ready to let go of my hand now?" he said. Rose woke up slowly, her thoughts much clearer than before. The first thing she noticed was that she was at home. That was normal. The second thing she noticed was that Damien was next to her, with his arms around her. That was new. |
Sera let go of him and fell off the bed with a little shriek, landing with a thump.
Damien had stayed up most of the night, and he was dozing lightly. At Sera's shriek, however, he blinked his eyes open rather blearily, sitting up part-way. |
Taylor got up, and offered Sera a hand up from the floor.
"Sorry. But you grabbed my hand last night and I couldn't get you to let go," he said. Rose sat up, too. "...That was interesting," she said. |
Sera took his hand, still processing that. She eyed him for a moment before she nodded.
"Okay, I can buy that. It wouldn't be the first time." "Which part?" Damien looked down at her, not even realizing he still had one arm around her. |
"Sera," Rose replied. She didn't notice his arm around her, either. "She sounded surprised by something."
Taylor pulled Sera to her feet. "Are you feeling any better?" he asked. |
"Probably Taylor," Damien replied calmly. "I think he stayed the night."
"Yeah, much." Sera rubbed her eyes, her hair standing up all over the place since she'd slept on it. |
"I'm sure Sera liked that," Rose said dryly.
"Good," Taylor replied. "I'm glad you're feeling better." |
Damien snorted. "Well, I haven't heard anything yet, like screaming."
"The hell happened last night?" Sera frowned. She was not used to losing control like that. |
"Which is a good thing, I'm sure," Rose replied. Unconsciously, she leaned against him.
"A siren happened last night," Taylor replied. "He tried to enthrall the two of you." |
Damien held her a little tighter, resting his cheek on top of her head.
Sera let out a little snarl, clearly hating the idea. |
"Yeah, I know," Taylor replied. "The problem is already taken care of."
Rose relaxed in Damien's arms. She was comfortable, and she liked how he was holding her. |
Sera was silent for a moment before she nodded her acceptance and glanced around her room. Her animals were all taken care of, luckily, but she felt like she needed a long shower.
Damien stayed where he was, just relaxing and closing his eyes. |
Rose glanced over when her little kitten clawed her way up onto the bedspread. She was a little impressed, the kitten was still a little thing.
"Let me know if you want me to leave," Taylor said. "I'm sure you have things you need to get done." |
Damien chuckled when he saw the kitten, helping it up the rest of the way and starting to pet her.
"I didn't have much planned," Sera admitted. "I was going to take the snake out for a while." |
"I've come to the conclusion that she likes that," Rose said as she reached over and pet the kitten as well.
"Alright," Taylor said. "I took care of them all for you last night, since you needed to sleep. I hope you don't mind." |
Damien chuckled and kept petting her, listening to her purr. "Yeah, I'd say so."
"No, I don't mind." Sera paused for a moment. "Thanks." |
"I woke up with her sleeping on my face, once," Rose said as she scratched behind one of the kitten's ears. "Right across my eyes."
"No problem," Taylor replied. He glanced at the door for a moment. "Damien is still here, he must have spent the night with Rose. Not that I blame him." |
"Yeah, she seems like the type," Damien agreed with a little grin. "How much has she terrorized the household?"
"After the Siren? Yeah, doesn't surprise me." Sera shrugged. "I'm surprised you were going to leave, actually." |
"She thinks she owns the place," Rose replied. "At least, from how she acts."
"Actually, I was planning on just moving down to the couch last night," Taylor admitted. He didn't want to leave her alone, but he also didn't want her to take it the wrong way if she woke up with him, like she almost had. "Then you grabbed me and plans changed." |
Damien snorted. "Ah, cats. House cats, anyway." He shook his head.
"Oh." Sera paused for a few moments. "Sorry." Sort of. Not that she'd ever admit it out loud, but he had been comfy. And warm. |
Rose giggled.
"You would know," she teased gently. "I don't mind," Taylor said. Holding out a hand, he helped her up. "Want to properly introduce me to the snake?" |
Damien merely grinned and kissed her forehead quickly. "Nah, I'm more of an outdoor cat. Only really special things keep me inside."
"Probably should, especially if you'll be spending any time here." Sera got up and then grimaced. "Actually, let me get changed and brush my teeth and stuff first. I feel nasty." |
Rose blushed a little.
"Then I'm glad you're in here with me," she said. "Go ahead, then," Taylor replied. "I have a spare set of clothes in my car, I'll go grab those and change myself." |
Damien smiled and leaned down, kissing her once, quickly, lightly. He didn't want to make her uncomfortable or anything, after all.
Sera nodded and grabbed a pair of jeans and a t-shirt before she went into the bathroom, brushing her teeth, changing and brushing out hair. Then she felt vaguely more human. |
Rose froze in surprise, but the kiss was over before she could really register it. She blushed when she realized that he really kissed her.
Taylor had experience with changing in the car, so it didn't bother him much. Once he was wearing his other clothes, he went back inside. |
